Share your health and fitness questions for Devi Sridhar, Mariella Frostrup, and Joel Snape

As the new year sets in for many, a fresh start is just around the corner – whether that means lacing up your running shoes for a 10k or taking to the bouldering wall. Maybe you're hoping to make healthier food choices or master the art of kettlebell swings. Whatever your goal, staying fit and healthy as we move into the second half of life can feel daunting.

That's why the Guardian Live has invited three experts to shed some light on simple, actionable ways to prioritize our well-being: public health expert Devi Sridhar, journalist and author Mariella Frostrup, and health and fitness columnist Joel Snape. Alongside presenter Annie Kelly, they'll be sharing practical advice on how to stay strong and mobile, manage stress, and get a good night's sleep.

But we want to hear from you too! What keeps you up at night – should you really be drinking mugfuls of hot creatine? Are certain exercises worth the hype, or are there better options out there? How do you fit it all in, when life gets busy and our priorities get jumbled?

Post your questions below, and we'll pass them on to our panel on the night. Whether you're struggling with healthy eating, trying to stay active, or just looking for ways to reduce stress, they'll be sharing their expertise on how to make progress – not perfection.

The conversation is yours: share your health and fitness concerns, and let's get the discussion started.

👏 I'm so down for this! As we head into 2025, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by all the wellness advice out there. But what if we simplified things? What if our panel of experts offered us actionable tips that don't require a ton of time or money? 🤑 I'd love to hear from others who are struggling with healthy habits – is it really worth trying new exercises just because they're trendy, or can we find alternatives that work for us? Let's chat! 💬

🏋️‍♀️ u know i think ppl overthink this stuff so much... just start small, like literally try doing one new thing a week? it doesnt have to be intense workouts or fancy diets... even just taking a 10min walk during lunch can make a big diff. and honestly, creatine drinks r not that bad for you if u drink em in moderation 🤷‍♀️ plus, stress is like, super personal... what works for one person might not work for another so its all about finding what works for U 👍

I'm so over all these supplements 🤯 like creatine... isn't it just a fancy name for 'stuff that might help you gain energy'? I mean I know some people swear by it but to me it sounds like another excuse to buy more stuff we don't need 💸. What really gets my goat is when everyone says 'exercise regularly' without giving any actual advice on how to do so with a busy schedule... like, what's a good way to fit in a workout if you're working from home all day? 🤔

omg, like, I'm soooo excited to see experts sharing their "simple" tips on staying fit and healthy 😒... as if that's always been easy for them 🤣. anyway, i'm sure my life will be just peachy once i figure out how to "prioritize" and make time for exercise 🏋️‍♀️. btw, who needs sleep when you have a Netflix show to binge? 📺

🤯 I'm so over all these 'wellness' gurus telling us we need to do this or that to stay healthy... like, what even is a 'good night's sleep'? 30 minutes isn't enough for anyone! 😴 And don't even get me started on creatine - it's just another stuff we're gonna end up paying money for and still struggling to hit our fitness goals. I mean, can we please just focus on making healthy choices that actually make sense? 🤷‍♀️

I think it's a great idea to have a panel discussion about prioritizing our well-being, especially as we age 🤔. I've noticed that a lot of people struggle with staying motivated and finding time for self-care amidst busy schedules. It's not about striving for perfection, but making small changes that can add up over time 💪. What I'd love to see is more emphasis on mental health too – it's just as important as physical well-being 🌱.

omg u know i've been tryna get back into workout routine 4eva but its hard wen u got a full time job & family responsibilities 🤯💪 i feel like u need 2 have a system in place or else u just end up procrastinatin 🕰️ my fave way to stay active is goin on hikes w/ my pup its free & fun & gets me out of the house 😊 but idk bout creatine mugfuls lol do they even work? 🤷‍♀️ anyways im excited 4 this convo w/ devi, mariella, & joel Snape! gotta get some inspo & tips 2 make healthy livin easier 💖

I think it's so important to focus on self-care as we get older, you know? Life can get super crazy and it's easy to just burn out. But making healthy habits a part of your daily routine can actually be kinda liberating! I've found that small changes, like taking a 10 minute walk during my lunch break or doing a quick yoga flow in the morning, can make such a big difference.

I'm also super curious about stress management - I feel like we're always being told to do this or that, but no one really talks about how to actually manage it. Like, what are some real strategies for chillin' out when life gets overwhelming? 🤗

I think it's pretty cool that they're having a convo about prioritizing well-being 🤔. I mean, life can get crazy and it's easy to forget about our own needs. But at the same time, it feels like there are so many conflicting opinions out there on what really works for your health. Like, is it all about finding the right balance of exercise and diet, or is it just about managing stress? And don't even get me started on social media - it's hard to keep up with all those fitness influencers promising miracle cures 🙄.

I'm curious to see what our panelists have to say, though. I've got a few friends who are always struggling to stay active and healthy, so maybe some practical tips would be super helpful for them (and me too, tbh).

I'm so over all this 'self-care' nonsense 🙄. Everyone's always talking about wellness and mindfulness like it's some kind of magic solution to a happy life. But honestly, I think we should just accept that we're all gonna be tired and stressed out at some point – it's just life! 💀

I mean, what's the point of trying to 'prioritize our well-being' if we're not even gonna take a break from it all? Let's focus on having fun and living in the moment instead of constantly checking off some tedious list of 'healthy habits'. 🎉

And can we please just ditch the fitness trends already? Mugfuls of hot creatine? Kettlebell swings? Give me a break! 😂 Just let us eat pizza and watch Netflix without feeling guilty, okay? 🍕

I'm so over all this fitness hype 🤦‍♀️. Like, we're supposed to believe that just because you can bench press 50lbs, you're automatically a superhero? Newsflash: exercise is cool, but it's not a magic bullet for mental health issues 😴. I think the real problem is that we're so focused on getting our bodies in shape that we forget about taking care of our minds. Can't we just talk about meditation and mindfulness for a change? 🙏 And what's with all the "experts" on TV, claiming to have all the answers? Most people are just winging it and making stuff up as they go along 🤔. Let's have a real conversation about what works (or doesn't work) in our personal lives, rather than relying on some fancy expert opinion 💁‍♀️.

🤔 I'm actually really bad at sticking to exercise routines... like 2 weeks in and I'm already thinking about giving up 🏃‍♂️. But seriously, I've heard that high-intensity interval training (HIIT) is good for your heart and stuff, but isn't it just a bunch of running around and jumping up and down? Is it really worth the hype? And what's with all the different types of exercise - yoga, Pilates, CrossFit... do you need to try them all or is one enough? 🤷‍♂️

I'm all about creating a routine that works for me. I set my reminders on repeat so I don't forget to move throughout the day 📅💪. And, honestly, it's not about being perfect – it's about making progress, right? I used to hate going to the gym, but now I've found an exercise I actually enjoy (bouldering is a game-changer! 😲) and my body loves me for it. For stress, I try meditation and deep breathing exercises... it really helps calm my mind 🙏💆‍♀️
