She Was Given Up by Her Chinese Parents—and Spent 14 Years Trying to Find a Way Back

For 14 long years, Youxue spent searching for the birth parents she was given up by her Chinese parents when she was just a baby. The journey of reunion began in spring 2010 with the support of her adoptive mother and online forums where adoptees connected. With the help of a local radio personality and another searcher, they finally had more context to move forward, as Youxue's DNA matched two potential families.

However, the initial excitement was short-lived when she realized that the note left with the baby she was actually given up from contained information about her actual birth date - September 11th, 1994. Yet another false lead arose after receiving an email for her DNA had been accepted by China’s National Reunion Database in April 2024.

But then came a remarkable coincidence – yet another woman submitted her DNA to the same database just days later on July 14th. The names of her birth parents were revealed, and she finally met them in August 2015 after 14 long years of searching.

I'm tellin' ya, it's not uncommon for adoptees to experience false leads in their search journey 🤦‍♀️. I mean, think about it - the adoption process is already super complex, and then you throw DNA matches into the mix? It's a recipe for disaster... or so they say 😂. Seriously though, the fact that Youxue had two separate DNA matches with similar info before finally getting the real deal must've been super frustrating 🤯.

But I gotta give it to her - persistence and determination are key when it comes to adoptee searches 💪. And hey, sometimes you just need a little bit of serendipity to bring everything together 🙏. It's like the universe was nudgin' her in the right direction 🔄.

oh my gosh!! 🤩 i'm literally crying tears of joy for youxue!!! i can imagine how emotional and exhausting all those years of searching must have been but she's finally found her family 💕🌟 14 years is forever, but i guess good things come to those who wait... i'm sending all the love and hugs to youxue and her birth parents - it's like a fairy tale come true! ❤️

I'm seriously impressed by Youxue's determination and perseverance 🤯! 14 whole years is insane, but it just goes to show how far people will go for the truth about their heritage. I mean, can you even imagine not knowing where you came from? It's like a part of you was missing, you know? 😊

And those online forums were super helpful, too! I love how adoptees are supporting each other and sharing their own stories. It's amazing what communities can do when they come together 💖.

But the real kicker is that DNA databases are only getting more advanced, right? Like, it's only a matter of time before we have even more accurate info about our ancestors. That's gonna be wild! 🌎

omg, what a total letdown lol 🤣 I mean, I feel bad for Youxue and all, but like, who gets all excited about finding their birth family only to find out it's not even the real deal? 😂 i'm sure she was hoping for some crazy, movie-like reunion or something... but nope, just a couple of strangers who happened to have DNA that matched hers 🤔 and yeah, another woman submitting her DNA on the same day is like, totally suspicious... sounds like they found each other or something 😉

omg what a rollercoaster journey for youxue!! 14 yrs is literally forever lol can u even imagine going through all that emotional pain & uncertainty?? i'm so glad it all paid off in the end tho! and omg the coincidence with another woman who submitted her dna at the same time... like, what are the chances?! anyway, i hope youxue's reunion was everything she hoped it would be

OMG this is so amazing!!! I mean can u even imagine searching for ur birth family for like 14 yrs and then hitting a major roadblock like that?! 😱 Youxue's story is literally so inspiring! I'm getting chills thinking about her journey, all the hopes she must've had, and then that incredible coincidence that brought everything full circle 🙌. And the fact that it was another woman who submitted her DNA at almost the exact same time? What are the chances?! 💖 It's like fate just intervened to make this reunion happen! Youxue is literally one lucky person! 🍀 I'm sending all my positive vibes to her and her birth family - may their bond be super strong 💕.

Ugh, this is like something straight outta a soap opera... 🤯 I'm so happy for Youxue that she finally found her birth parents, but can we talk about the timing? Like, what are the chances of another woman's DNA matching hers and giving up the names just days after receiving the news herself?! It's crazy. And I feel bad for Youxue when it took them 14 years to get any real leads - all those false hopes... 😔 But at the same time, it's a reminder that sometimes life works out in unexpected ways. Fingers crossed they're happy and healthy now 🤞

I feel bad for Youxue, but this whole experience is like a metaphor for life, you know? We're all just wandering around, trying to find our way back home. Sometimes it takes forever, and we meet so many people along the way who can help us out. The online forums are like the internet itself - they connect us to each other, but also to ourselves. But even with all that support, life can be unpredictable. That's when the universe surprises us in ways we never thought possible 🤯💥

It's like Youxue was on a long road, and just when she thought it was over, another car comes around the corner, changing everything. The key is to stay open-minded and trust that life has a plan for you. Even if it takes 14 years (or more!), the wait will be worth it. And sometimes, it's the unexpected twists and turns that lead us to exactly where we need to be 🌈💫

OMG this is crazy! I mean i feel bad for youxue cuz she had to go thru all that stress n anxiety n stuff just to find out if she was even biologically related to these people lolol but at the same time its like wow congrats to her n her birth parents who r probably super grateful 2 have found each other again!! n i wonder wut kinda reaction youxue's adoptive mom had wen she found out about all this too lolol, was she supportive or did she get left in the dark?

can you believe this woman's story? 14 yrs of searching & still false leads left & right 🤯 it's like the universe was playing a cruel joke on her. but then comes this crazy coincidence with another woman who submits her DNA to China's reunion database, and lo & behold, they match! what are the chances?! 🤔 i'm so happy for Youxue that she finally met her birth parents in 2015. it's like her heart was waiting that long for closure 💕

OMG 😮 this is like something outta a movie! Can u believe it took youxue 14 YEARS to find her birth family? I mean, all those late night online forums sessions & DNA matches... what an amazing journey 🤩. But the thing that gets me is when she found out about her actual birthday - Sept 11th, 1994 😱 like, what are the chances?! And then there was that email from China's reunion database... so many false leads 🙄. BUT... that coincidence with another woman submitting her DNA just days later? 💥 life-changing! August 2015 is when it all came together... I'm literally smiling reading this 😊
