Sunderland's Xhaka 'probably signing of the season' - Rooney

Former Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney has given his backing to Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka, describing him as "probably the signing of the season". The Black Cats have made a strong start to their return to the Premier League, sitting fourth after 11 games with 19 points. Xhaka's leadership skills and experience have been instrumental in Sunderland's success so far. He has played every minute of all their league games, scoring once and providing three assists.

Rooney praised Xhaka for his ability to inspire and motivate the team, saying he "has been brilliant". The 33-year-old former Arsenal midfielder joined Sunderland from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer for an initial ยฃ13m. Rooney believes Xhaka's arrival will be a huge boost for the manager and the young players at the club.

Xhaka has also demonstrated his adaptability, making the transition to a new league and team with ease. He played a crucial role in Arsenal's FA Cup wins under Arsene Wenger but was often criticized by fans for his perceived arrogance on the pitch. However, Rooney believes Xhaka's character and work ethic have shone through during his time at Sunderland.

Rooney also highlighted Xhaka's experience, saying he has "been a big help" to the team. The former Arsenal midfielder made 297 appearances for the club, winning two FA Cups. Despite being sent off five times during his time at Arsenal, Xhaka became an important player under Mikel Arteta and played a key role in Leverkusen's Bundesliga title win.

Sunderland's strong start to the season has caught the attention of many, with Xhaka at the helm. Rooney's endorsement of the captain is a testament to his influence on the team. With the Black Cats looking to secure their place in the Premier League, Xhaka will be crucial in guiding them to success.

๐Ÿคฉ I'm loving this! A proper leader on and off the pitch, Granit Xhaka seems to be really making a difference at Sunderland ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’ช 19 points after 11 games is no joke, he's definitely been brilliant for that team! ๐Ÿ’ฏ And it's great to see him getting recognition from someone like Wayne Rooney who knows what they're talking about โšฝ๏ธ What I'm excited to see now is if Xhaka can keep the momentum going and lead Sunderland all the way to safety ๐Ÿ†

๐Ÿค” I gotta say, Granit Xhaka seems like a solid signing for Sunderland ๐Ÿ† 19 points after 11 games is definitely not bad. I mean, you can't deny his leadership skills and the fact that he's been playing every minute of their league games is impressive. The fact that Rooney thinks he's "probably the signing of the season" says something about how much the team needs him ๐Ÿ’ช. But, at the same time, it's also worrying that Sunderland might be relying too heavily on one player... ๐Ÿค• Still, I'm gonna keep an eye on them and see if Xhaka can help them secure their place in the Premier League ๐Ÿ”’

I'm loving this Sunderland resurgence ๐Ÿ™Œ! Granit Xhaka is defo bringing the heat ๐Ÿ”ฅ and I think he's a huge reason why they're sitting fourth after just 11 games ๐Ÿ’ช. As someone who's seen him play for Arsenal, I know he can be polarising but Rooney has it right โ€“ his leadership skills are on point ๐Ÿ‘ and his experience is invaluable ๐Ÿค. It's not easy transitioning to a new league and team but Xhaka seems to have taken it in stride ๐Ÿ’จ. Can't wait to see how the season unfolds! โฐ

OMG, I'm so stoked for Sunderland ๐Ÿคฉ! Granit Xhaka is literally making waves in the Premier League right now ๐Ÿ˜ฎ. He's been doing a great job as captain and his leadership skills are super inspiring ๐Ÿ’ช. Wayne Rooney knows what he's talking about, he played with some of the best midfielders in the world during his time at Arsenal ๐Ÿคฏ.

I love how Xhaka has adapted to this new league so quickly ๐Ÿ‘. He's got that experience and character that's making all the difference for Sunderland ๐Ÿ”ฅ. I'm not surprised Rooney thinks he's the signing of the season, he's definitely been brilliant ๐Ÿ’ฏ.

It'll be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out, but with Xhaka at the helm, I think Sunderland have a good shot at staying up in the Premier League ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ”ด. Let's keep cheering for them and Granit Xhaka! ๐Ÿ‘

omg i'm loving this news ๐Ÿคฉ! Wayne Rooney giving Granit Xhaka the seal of approval as the signing of the season is just what we needed ๐Ÿ˜‚. I mean seriously tho, Sunderland's doing so well and it's all thanks to Xhaka's leadership skills ๐Ÿ™Œ. I was a bit skeptical about him at first since he played for Arsenal but i guess you can never judge a book by its cover ๐Ÿ“š. Rooney seems really confident in his abilities and i think that's what makes him so good ๐Ÿค. Xhaka's adaptability is also super impressive, from Germany to England it's not easy to adjust but he's done it seamlessly ๐Ÿ’จ. Fingers crossed for Sunderland and their Premier League spot! ๐Ÿ™

OMG, I'm lovin' Granit Xhaka's vibes for Sunderland right now ๐Ÿคฉ! He's been a total game-changer for the team and Wayne Rooney knows it ๐Ÿ’ฏ. The guy's leadership skills are everything and his experience is priceless ๐Ÿ’ช. Xhaka's adaptability is also super impressive, going from Arsenal to Leverkusen to Sunderland with ease ๐Ÿ”„. I love how he's brought that same work ethic and character to the Black Cats ๐Ÿ˜Š. Now, can we talk about Sunderland's chances of staying in the Premier League? I think they've got a good shot at it ๐Ÿ‘! #WayneRooney #GranitXhaka #SunderlandFC #PremierLeague

๐Ÿค” I think it's awesome that Wayne Rooney is backing Granit Xhaka so strongly. The guy's clearly making a huge difference at Sunderland right now ๐ŸŒŸ. He's got that leadership quality and experience that you can't teach, and it's great to see him inspiring the team like this ๐Ÿ’ช. For me, what really stands out about Xhaka is how well he adapts to new situations โ€“ playing in different leagues and with different teams has been a breeze for him ๐ŸŒˆ. He's not one of those players who's going to fluff up or lose his form when things get tough. What do you think about Sunderland's start to the season so far?

omg u guys r so harsh on granit xhaka lol rooney thinks he's been brilliant ๐Ÿ˜‚ like who doesn't love a good leader? xhaka's experience and work ethic are exactly what Sunderland need right now. plus, let's not forget that guy won 2 fa cups with arsenal ๐ŸŽ‰ so he's def got the skills. Rooney's endorsement is all i care about rn ๐Ÿ’ฏ xhaka might not have been the most popular player at arsenal but rooney sees something in him and thats all that matters. we should give him a break ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm loving the vibe Sunderland's got going right now ๐ŸŽ‰! It's amazing how having Granit Xhaka at the helm has made a huge difference for the team. His leadership skills and experience are just what they needed to get back on track ๐Ÿ’ช. I've gotta say, it's awesome to see someone like him who's been around the block a few times bringing that stability and calmness to the pitch ๐Ÿ™. Rooney's right, Xhaka has been brilliant! And let's be real, his adaptability is just impressive - he's made the transition from the Bundesliga to the Premier League with ease ๐Ÿ˜Ž. I'm curious to see how the rest of the season unfolds, but for now, I'm rooting for Sunderland all the way ๐Ÿคž!

LOL I mean who wouldn't want to play under Wayne Rooney haha xD but seriously Grani has been doing a sick job for Sunderland this season! He's like the glue that holds the team together and his experience is a major boost for the manager and young players xD 297 appearances for Arsenal isn't bad either lol. I think what's really impressive is how he's adapted to a new league and team so quickly, it shows you're a pro player when you can make that transition seamlessly! ๐Ÿ˜Š

omg i'm so hyped about Granit Xhaka right now!!! ๐Ÿคฉ he's been literally brilliant for Sunderland and Rooney is spot on with his praise he's got this amazing leadership quality that inspires the whole team and his experience is just incredible, i mean 297 appearances for Arsenal? ๐Ÿ”ฅ he's also adapted so well to the Premier League and the pressure of playing in front of all those fans, it's not easy! ๐Ÿ™Œ and let's be real, Rooney knows a thing or two about greatness on the pitch, so when he says Xhaka is the signing of the season, i'm totally with him ๐Ÿ˜†

I'm low-key loving Granit Xhaka's vibe right now ๐Ÿคฉ! He's really stepped up and led Sunderland to this crazy strong start. I mean, 19 points after 11 games? That's some solid stuff ๐Ÿ’ช. And Wayne Rooney is giving him major props for it - "probably the signing of the season" indeed ๐Ÿ˜‚. It's awesome to see Xhaka's leadership skills shining through and bringing that experience to the team. He was always a bit of a polarizing figure at Arsenal, but it sounds like he's brought a new level of humility and work ethic to Sunderland ๐Ÿ™. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings for these Black Cats! ๐Ÿฆ‡

Omg I'm literally dyin ๐Ÿคฏ! Wayne Rooney gave Granit Xhaka a shoutout like what more can you ask for?! ๐Ÿ™Œ The way he's been playin' for Sunderland is insane! He's got the whole team inspired and motivated, and his leadership skills are on point. Xhaka's like a glue that holds everything together ๐Ÿค. I'm so glad Rooney believes in him, it's clear he's made the right decision in joinin' Sunderland from Bayer Leverkusen. The guy's been through ups and downs at Arsenal but now he's shinin' at Sunderland ๐Ÿ’ซ. I'm hyped for the rest of the season, Xhaka's gonna be instrumental in gettin' those three points ๐Ÿ†!

๐Ÿคฉ I'm not surprised to see Granit Xhaka getting so much love from the Sunderland fans! He's been a rock for the team, you know? ๐ŸŒŽ The way he's adapted to this new league and team is incredible, and his experience really shows. Rooney's right, he has been brilliant! ๐Ÿ˜Š I've seen some of the matches, and Xhaka's leadership skills are top-notch. He's inspiring the young players to give their all, which is awesome to see ๐ŸŒŸ. Plus, the way he's fit in with the squad so far is impressive. It's no wonder they're sitting fourth after just 11 games! ๐Ÿ‘

omg i totally agree w/wayne rooney about granit xhaka ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘ he's literally been on fire since joining Sunderland! his leadership skills r amazing & he's really inspired the team to play some awesome football ๐Ÿคฉ. i've been watching their matches & it's crazy how well they're doing considering they just came from the championship ๐Ÿ™Œ. granit xhaka's experience is huge, he knows what works & that's why rooney says he's been "brilliant" ๐Ÿ’ฏ. can't wait to see them continue their winning streak โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Š

I'm loving this Sunderland revival under Granit Xhaka! ๐Ÿ™Œ The guy's got some serious game sense and leadership skills, and it's awesome to see him leading by example, inspiring his teammates, and getting the job done on the pitch ๐Ÿ†. I mean, 19 points after 11 games? That's a big deal for a new team in the Premier League! ๐Ÿ’ช

And you know what's even cooler? Xhaka's adaptability. The guy comes from the Bundesliga to the Premier League and just rolls with it, no drama. He played some crucial roles in Leverkusen's title win too, but it's been great to see him channel that experience into Sunderland's success ๐ŸŽ‰.

I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit skeptical about Xhaka when he joined Arsenal, but Arsene Wenger must have seen something in him because the guy became an important player. And now, with Wayne Rooney backing him up, I think Sunderland's got a real shot at making it work this season ๐Ÿคž. Bring on the Black Cats! โšช๏ธ

OMG like what's next ?? ๐Ÿคฃ Granit Xhaka finally found a club where he can use those leadership skills and experience without being roasted by fans lolol. I mean, who knew 33 was the new 25? ๐Ÿ˜‚ He's basically winning awards just for showing up to work ๐Ÿ† and playing every minute of games is like a major accomplishment or something. I'm low-key impressed that he didn't get sent off more often at Arsenal ๐Ÿคช. Guess all those FA Cups were worth it after all ๐Ÿ’ƒ

man, can't believe Wayne Rooney is hyping up Granit Xhaka that much ๐Ÿคฉ. Xhaka's been doing a sick job as captain of Sunderland, leading the team with experience and inspiring his teammates to do the same ๐Ÿ’ช. His transition to the Premier League has been smooth, no surprise he's already making an impact ๐Ÿ“ˆ. And let's be real, 297 appearances for Arsenal under Arsene Wenger speaks volumes about Xhaka's skills ๐Ÿ‘. Rooney knows what he's talking about, and if Xhaka keeps this up, Sunderland is gonna be a force to be reckoned with ๐Ÿ”ฅ

I gotta say, I'm still not entirely convinced by all this praise for Granit Xhaka ๐Ÿค”... I mean, sure he's been doing alright, but 5 red cards at Arsenal? That's a lot of yellow and red cards ๐Ÿ˜‚... Anyway, what really gets me is that Rooney didn't even mention Xhaka's off-field issues... like his tax debt in Switzerland ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ญ. That's some juicy info that could've changed the narrative about Xhaka's character ๐Ÿ’ธ. And where's the proof of all this "leadership skills" and "motivation" he's providing for Sunderland? Some stats, maybe? ๐Ÿ“Š... I need to see more than just Rooney's opinion before I'm totally sold on Xhaka being "the signing of the season" ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.
