The first professional basketball league formed in Philly in 1898, but the game didn't look anything like it does today

The NBA has come a long way since those rough-and-tumble days ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ‘ I mean, can you even imagine playing basketball with no rules and just pushing your opponents to get the ball? ๐Ÿ˜‚ It's crazy to think that some of the games were more like boxing matches than modern-day hoops. The NBL may not have been successful in the long run, but it definitely helped shape the game we love today ๐Ÿ™Œ

I'm kinda surprised they're giving so much love to Philly's original basketball league ๐Ÿค”. I mean, sure, it may not have been as polished as the NBA today ๐Ÿ€, but it's cool that they're acknowledging its role in shaping the game we know and love. It's also interesting to think about how rough-and-tumble games were back then ๐Ÿ˜…. Players pushing and shoving just to score baskets? That sounds like a whole different ball game (no pun intended) ๐Ÿคฃ.

I'm curious to check out that event on Jan 24th at the Xfinity Mobile Arena, hope they have some fun facts and stats about the NBL ๐Ÿ‘€. Maybe we'll learn more about the teams involved, how they played, and what inspired Horace Fogel to start it all ๐Ÿ“š.
