Netflix's Farewell Tour: Beloved TV Shows Leaving the Platform in December

In a move that has left fans reeling, Netflix has announced its latest batch of departures from the platform. Starting December, several beloved TV shows will bid farewell to subscribers, making way for new releases and fresh content.

Stranger Things, Emily in Paris Season 5, and other eagerly anticipated titles are set to arrive on Netflix in December. However, amidst all the excitement, some fan-favorite series have confirmed their departure from the platform due to expired licensing agreements. Among these departures include How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural, and Arrow.

The hit comedy How I Met Your Mother has been a staple of many viewers' watchlists for years, airing its final episode in March 2014. While fans can still stream all nine seasons on Hulu and Disney+, their time on Netflix is coming to an end. Similarly, long-running series Supernatural, which followed brothers Sam and Dean as they battled supernatural forces, will leave the platform on December 22. Arrow, another popular superhero show, will also depart after its first season debuted on Netflix in October 2014.

Other TV shows leaving Netflix include Top Chef, Masameer Classics, Deadliest Catch, A Cuba Libre Story, The 100, and more. While some of these series have found new homes on streaming platforms like Hulu, Disney+, Fandango at Home, Prime Video, and Apple TV, their departure from Netflix is still a blow to fans.

Here's the complete list of TV shows leaving Netflix in December:

* Leaving December 1: Fierce (Season 1)

As Netflix continues to expand its content offerings, fans will have to say goodbye to some of their favorite shows. While it's always bittersweet to see beloved series leave the platform, there's always hope that they'll find new life elsewhere.

🤣 Oh man, this is gonna be a sad month for Netflix fans I feel bad for How I Met Your Mother, that show was a staple in so many people's lives It's crazy to think that after all these years, it's finally saying goodbye But on the bright side, we've got some new shows coming out in December like Stranger Things and Emily in Paris Season 5 🎉 Can't wait to see what's next for Netflix! 📺

so much for the endless stream 📺😒 i mean, who doesn't love a good farewell tour, right? anyway, i guess some shows are just getting old and need to make way for newer stuff... like how my grandma used to say, "you can't keep a good show down" 😉 but seriously, it's always sad when your favorite series says goodbye. i'll miss how i met your mother 🤣 those guys were always making me laugh (mostly at ted's outfits) and supernatural was just so epic... still hope some of these shows find new homes where we can keep on binge-watching 😊

man this is crazy 🤯 like how are we supposed to deal with all these shows leaving netflix? i know some of them have found new homes but still its gonna be tough for us nostalgic fans who spent years bingeing on those shows. i mean whats next?? will they start canceling our favorite shows too? 😳 and what about the ones that left like 2 years ago already and we forgot they were gone 🙈 i'm gonna miss how i met your mother so much it was literally my go to show whenever im stressed or feeling down, and now its just gonna disappear from netflix. i guess ill have to find new shows to obsess over 🤷‍♂️

omg i'm gonna miss how i met your mother so much 😭 I mean, 9 seasons is a lot! I've already started rewatching it on Hulu, but it's just not the same as having it on netflix 🤷‍♀️ I feel bad for the other shows leaving too, like supernatural and arrow... they're such classics 💔 at least we'll get new content in dec though 🎉 fyi have you guys checked out any good shows on disney+ or hulu lately? 📺

I'm telling ya, this is like, super suspicious 🤔. First of all, how many of these shows get taken off Netflix right before a big December push with all these new titles coming out? It's like they're clearing the way for something... I don't know, maybe a rival streaming service? And what about Hulu and Disney+ picking up some of these shows? Is that just a coincidence or are they trying to poach Netflix subscribers? 🤑 The timing is weird.

man I'm gonna miss how i met your mother so much! 😔 season 9 was my fave 🤩 it's crazy how fast time flies and now all these shows are leaving netflix 🚫 it's not just about the TV shows tho, it's also like we're losing our nostalgic childhoods 🎬 remember watching arrow as a kid? 😂 still weird that they're leaving after only 1 season 🤯 I guess it's good for us to try new things and find more awesome shows 📺 anyway, on to the good news - it looks like some awesome new stuff is coming in dec 🎉👀

ugh this is like losing a part of our netflix family 🐈😔 i mean we get it companies have to make space for new content but its still sad to say goodbye to shows we love esp how i met your mother that show was literally my savior during college years 😂 i wonder what nbc or hulu are gonna do with those episodes they must be worth something 💸 and whats up with these licensing agreements 🤔 can they just renew them instead of making fans suffer 🙄

Ugh, this is a total nightmare for us Netflix subscribers... 🤯 I'm already gonna have to cancel my subscription and scramble to watch all these shows on other platforms before they're gone forever. I mean, who needs the hassle of searching for the same old episodes on Hulu or something? And what's up with these licensing agreements expiring like that? It's just a money grab at this point... 😒

omg what's going on with netflix 🤯! i'm all about trying new stuff but its hard not to feel a little sad when some of our fave shows are leaving. how i met your mother has been a staple on my watchlist for ages and its crazy that its finally leaving, even though i can still watch it on hulu 👍. i guess its just the way the streaming game works now tho 🤷‍♀️. still excited for some of the new shows coming in december tho! 😆

omg i cant believe how im so late to this thread lol 😂📺 anyway like im not gonna lie ive been missing how im met your mother and supernatural on netflix but i guess its time for them to move on 🤣 i mean i know the expiring licenses thing but still it sucks that we wont be able to stream them on netflix anymore 😔 anyways im excited for all the new shows coming in dec tho! has anyone else been keeping up with their favorite shows and watching everything before they leave?

omg yaaas i'm so sad to see how i met your mother go 🤣 but i guess we have hulu now right? and arrow is also a big loss lol i mean who doesn't love arrowverse shows? 🦸‍♂️ anyway, it's not all bad news i heard they're bringing in some awesome new shows in december so lets get hyped for that! 👀💥

I'm gonna miss How I Met Your Mother so much 🤗. I remember watching it with my friends back in college and we'd all quote lines together for days after finishing an episode. It feels like just yesterday it was on Netflix, and now it's leaving? The nostalgia is real, you know? And Supernatural too... I loved that show when it first came out 🎃️. Now that they're leaving, I'm gonna have to dig them up from my old DVD collection again 😊. Guess this means new shows are on the horizon and I'll have to get excited all over again 📺.

its like netflix is gonna be all out of popular shows in dec lol thinkin they're just gonna drop all these iconic ones at once like they got nothin else 🤯📺

omg i'm like soooo sad lol! how i met your mother is literally my fave show eva... i mean who doesn't love ted and marshall's banter?! 🤣 it's crazy that it's leaving netflix, but i guess Hulu has got me covered 😂 and arrow is def another fave of mine, i'm gonna miss seeing ol' arrowhead city 🏯 anyway, it's all good, right? new shows are coming in dec tho, so maybe the departures will just make room for some awesome new stuff 🎉

ugh i know right?? i've been binge-watching how i met your mother for years and now its leaving netflix 🤯😢 i feel like i'm gonna miss it so much. i also loved supernatural and arrow, so it's sad to see them go too. but on the bright side, there are new shows coming out in december that im super excited about 😁👀

ugh i'm so sad about how i met your mother 🤔😢 it was my fave show ever and now it's leaving netflix? like what am i supposed to do now? 😂 i know some of these shows will move to other streaming platforms but it's just not the same as watching them on netflix where they're always readily available 📺👌
