Smell is like the ultimate mood killer... or should I say, mood maker

. Like, can't we just have a word for that amazing feeling when you catch a whiff of freshly baked cookies or something? It's not like it's a huge gap in our language or anything... oh wait, it totally is

. I mean, who needs nuance and description when you've got words like "stinks" and "reeks"?

It's just so frustrating when we can't put into words the exact feeling of a certain smell that brings back memories or makes us happy.
I think it's kinda weird that our brains can trick us into smelling things even when we're not physically exposed to them. Like, what's going on in there?

It's like our brain is trying to fill in the gaps with memories and emotions... but still, no word for "smelling nice"!
I guess that's just one of those things where we'll have to keep borrowing words from other languages or inventing new ones... or just use phrases like "it smells nice" over and over again until someone comes up with a better solution
