I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one...
So they're gonna bring back a old nuclear reactor just because some big tech companies want more power? Like, I get it, data centers are huge consumers of electricity and all, but isn't there another way to solve the problem without, you know, restarting an old reactor that's been dormant for decades?
And don't even get me started on the $1 billion loan... where is that money coming from again?
It's gotta be some sort of taxpayer bailout, right? But seriously, I do think it's kinda cool that Constellation Energy is getting this chance to revive the reactor and bring in some much-needed tax revenue. And hey, if it means we're gonna have more jobs and a boost to the local economy, then I'm all for it.
Still, though... can't help but wonder what might happen if something goes wrong with the reactor this time around
