"US doesn't gun down citizens": Biden says ICE's actions in Minnesota "betray our most basic values"

Former President Joe Biden has condemned the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minnesota, labeling their aggressive tactics against Minneapolis residents as a "betrayal" of America's core values. In a statement shared on social media platform X, Biden strongly denounced the use of violence by ICE agents, which he claimed was a gross misrepresentation of what it means to be an American.

The US is not a nation that resorts to gunning down its citizens in the streets, nor does it tolerate brutalization of individuals exercising their constitutional rights. The 4th Amendment's protection against unreasonable searches and seizures must be respected, Biden emphasized. He also criticized the government for tolerating neighborly terror inflicted upon American citizens by those wielding official authority.

Biden refrained from directly targeting former President Donald Trump but made a pointed statement about the limits of executive power. "No single person can destroy what America stands for and believes in," he wrote, emphasizing that collective resistance is necessary to uphold the country's fundamental principles.

The people of Minnesota have been praised by Biden for their courage and neighborliness, with his statement serving as a reminder of the American spirit that prioritizes compassion and justice. He called for a full, fair, and transparent investigation into the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, urging Americans to stand up against such injustices.

The statement concludes with Biden sending strength to the families and communities affected by the senseless loss of life, reiterating the importance of accountability and transparency in addressing human rights abuses perpetrated by those in power. By speaking out, he is encouraging a collective reckoning that underscores America's values and its commitment to protecting its citizens from harm.

๐Ÿคฌ can't believe the US gov't is doing this ICE needs to be held accountable for their actions it's time to reform their policies & prioritize people over profits ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ we're all americans, no matter where we come from, and we deserve better treatment by our own government ๐Ÿ˜”

Ugh ๐Ÿค• this is getting worse by the day... I mean seriously ICE using violence on people exercising their rights? That's just disgusting ๐Ÿ˜ท. And Biden condemning them but what's being done about it? It feels like a lot of hot air ๐Ÿšซ. The 4th Amendment isn't just some old law, it's a reminder that our rights are still being trampled on. ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ It's not just Minneapolis, this is happening all over the country and no one seems to be doing anything about it. We need real change, not just words ๐Ÿ’”.

ICE agents using violence against citizens? That's just not right ๐Ÿค•... I mean, we're supposed to be the land of the free and home of the brave, but this kind of thing makes me think we've lost sight of what's truly important. It's all about accountability and making sure those in power are held responsible for their actions. We gotta stand up against injustice and fight for our rights - that's what being an American is all about ๐Ÿ’ช... it's not just about following the rules, it's about living by a higher standard ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿคฏ can't believe Biden is finally speaking out against ICE's brutal tactics! It's about time someone held them accountable for putting innocent lives at risk ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ. The 4th Amendment protection is supposed to be a safeguard, not a joke ๐Ÿ’ฅ. And to think he didn't mention Trump directly... maybe that's a hint that things are about to get interesting ๐Ÿค”. One thing's for sure though: this statement is gonna spark some serious conversations about what it means to be an American and the limits of power ๐Ÿ”’. As a nation, we need to demand more from our leaders - compassion, justice, and transparency are not too much to ask for โค๏ธ.

OMG, can't believe what's happening with ICE in Minnesota ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ก I mean, Joe Biden's statement was super powerful, you know? It's like, yeah, the US is supposed to be about freedom and justice for all, not about cops shooting people in the streets ๐Ÿ’ฅ. And btw, 4th Amendment rights are a BIG deal ๐Ÿšซ. We gotta stand up against that neighborly terror ๐Ÿค๐Ÿฝ.

I'm also loving how Biden didn't name-drop Trump, but still made a point about executive power ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ. It's all about holding those in power accountable, you feel? And the fact that he's supporting the families of Renee and Alex is so heartwarming โค๏ธ. We need more leaders like him who care about justice and compassion ๐Ÿค.

Anyway, this whole thing is super concerning, but I'm hopeful that it'll lead to some real change ๐Ÿ’ช. We gotta keep pushing for transparency and accountability, especially when it comes to human rights abuses ๐Ÿ˜ . Stay woke, America! ๐Ÿšจ

can you imagine joe biden saying all this with his face on it ๐Ÿคฏ? i mean i feel him though, the whole thing about ice using excessive force against minneapolis residents is just messed up ๐Ÿ‘Ž. we're supposed to be america, not some authoritarian country that guns down its own citizens in the streets ๐Ÿ’€. and what's with the fact that ice can basically get away with this stuff because of trump's policies? ๐Ÿค” it's time for some real change, you feel? ๐Ÿ’ช

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole ICE thing ๐Ÿคฏ... I mean, what's going on in Minneapolis? It sounds like some crazy stuff is happening there, and Joe Biden is speaking out against it. I've gotta say, I respect the guy for standing up for what he believes in - America's values, all that jazz ๐Ÿ’ช.

I'm not gonna lie, though... this whole thing brings back memories of my own experiences growing up in the States ๐Ÿค”. My parents used to always tell me about the importance of respecting people's rights and treating others with kindness โค๏ธ. It's crazy how things have changed, but it's also good to see that some leaders are still holding onto those values.

I'm not sure what to make of this whole "collective resistance" thing, though ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ... I mean, is it just a fancy way of saying "we gotta stand up for ourselves"? Either way, I think Biden's got the right idea. We need more people speaking out against injustices and fighting for what's right ๐Ÿ’ช.

Anyway, I'm glad to see that Joe's still got his finger on the pulse of America ๐ŸŽฏ... now let's hope that some real change happens in Minneapolis soon ๐Ÿคž.

๐Ÿ˜Š just saw joe biden speak out against ICE's brutal tactics in minneapolis - it's about time someone at the highest level called them out for their actions ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ! America is all about protecting our citizens and respecting human rights, not using violence to silence people exercising their 1st amendment rights ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’ช. Biden is right, collective resistance is key to upholding our core values of compassion & justice ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒŽ. The fact that ICE is tolerating this kind of behavior in the US is a national embarrassment ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜ณ. We need accountability and transparency now more than ever ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ”. Let's stand together with Biden and support the families of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who deserve justice for their senseless loss of life ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’• #JusticeForReneeAndAlex #AccountabilityMatters #CompassionInAction

๐Ÿค just seen joe biden talking about ice in minnesota and i gotta say - as an american, it feels kinda weird when we're condemning our own govt for doing stuff that goes against the constitution ๐Ÿค” like, isn't that what america is all about? protecting our rights and being a beacon of hope? ๐ŸŒŸ but at the same time, i can understand why joe biden would be upset - using violence on citizens in broad daylight is just wrong ๐Ÿ’” and it's even more messed up when it comes from people who are supposed to be helping us out. the thing that gets me tho is how we're all so quick to blame the current president but what about the ones who came before? shouldn't we be holding them accountable too? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ i mean, joe biden isn't exactly swimming in popularity right now but at least he's speaking truth to power and pushing for change ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘

omg can't believe what's goin on with ICE in Minneapolis it's like they're tryna take away the very thing that makes this country great ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿคฏ Biden said it straight up, the 4th Amendment is there for a reason, no one should be brutalized by the system itself. and what's with all these deaths? Renee Good and Alex Pretti, innocent ppl who didn't deserve to lose their lives like that ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’€ i'm so glad Biden is speakin out against this stuff, it's time we had a reckoning about how we treat each other in this country ๐Ÿค๐ŸŒŽ

ICE gotta get their act together! Like, using guns on people? That's just not how it's done in the US of A ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Biden's right, 4th Amendment is in place for a reason - we can't just let anyone violate our rights willy-nilly ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ. And what's with this "neighborly terror" thing? Can't they just chill and do their jobs properly? ๐Ÿ™„ It's all about accountability now, thanks to Biden calling out the gov for not doing enough. Those families of Renee Good and Alex Pretti deserve justice, and we need to stand up for them ๐Ÿ’ช.

omg i just read this news and i'm like totally shocked! i mean whats going on with ice in minnesota? they sound super scary and i dont want anyone to get hurt ๐Ÿค• especially when they're just trying to exercise their rights... isnt that what america is all about freedom and stuff? i feel bad for the people who lost their lives tho ๐Ÿ˜” like what can we do to help them find justice? and whats with joe biden being so strong about this? does he really think one person can make a difference? ๐Ÿค”

OMG, I'm so proud of Joe Biden for standing up against ICE's crazy tactics ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ’ช #JusticeForReneeAndAlex #AccountabilityMatters #AmericaDeservesBetter

It's disheartening that the US has to experience this kind of police brutality in our own backyards ๐Ÿ˜”๐ŸŒŽ The 4th Amendment is in place for a reason, folks - we don't want our rights trampled on! ๐Ÿšซ #RespectTheConstitution #ProtectOurRights

As Biden said, collective resistance is key ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ช We need to hold our leaders accountable and make sure they're not perpetuating these human rights abuses ๐Ÿค #StandUpForWhatIsRight #JusticeNotVengeance

The people of Minnesota are truly heroes for speaking out against injustice ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™ And Joe's statement about the American spirit being one of compassion and justice is SO ON POINT โค๏ธ #AmericanSpirit #CompassionInAction

I think Biden is totally right that ICE's actions are super outta line ๐Ÿคฏ, but like at the same time, I don't know if he's being too harsh on Trump - what if he's just trying to cover his own tracks? ๐Ÿ’” And can we really say that America doesn't do things it deems necessary in a "crisis" situation, especially when it comes to national security? ๐Ÿค

Biden mentions the 4th Amendment, but isn't he kind of being selective about which laws he wants to enforce - what about all those other regulations that get swept under the rug when it suits him? ๐Ÿค” And let's not forget that he was in office during some pretty shady stuff too... ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, can we really trust his definition of "America's core values"? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Still, I guess it's good that Biden is speaking out about these issues and calling for accountability - we do need to make sure our leaders are held to a higher standard. ๐Ÿ’ฏ But let's not forget that there are consequences for actions like this, and we need to be careful not to just shift the blame onto one person or another... ๐Ÿค

OMG u guys, can we talk about this? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Joe Biden just said ICE is being super unfair to ppl in Minneapolis & it's like, totally not okay ๐Ÿคฏ they're using violence & breaking the law which is NOT what America stands for! America 4 Life ๐Ÿ’– I mean, we gotta stand up against that kinda stuff & make sure everyone knows their rights are protected ๐Ÿ™Œ it's all about compassion & justice, you feel? ๐Ÿ’• Biden is literally a hero for speaking out like this & I'm so down with him on this one ๐Ÿ‘

ICE isn't being too aggressive, they're just trying to do their job. If you can't handle the heat, don't go into law enforcement. And yeah, the 4th Amendment is great and all, but it doesn't mean you get to riot and burn down buildings when you feel like you're not being respected. The people of Minnesota are lucky they got to live through that chaos, what if someone had gotten hurt really bad? I'm all for accountability, but let's not make the agents out to be heroes just because some politician is defending them ๐Ÿค”
