US supreme court appears set to back Trump on FTC firing in major expansion of power

I'm worried about where this is heading 😬 The idea that the president could just fire people from independent agencies at will is super concerning 🤯 It feels like we're losing checks on their power and it's going to create a really unstable system 🚨 If they overturn the 1935 precedent, it'll set a bad precedent for future presidents 🙅‍♂️ And can you imagine if they start doing this with other agencies like the Fed? It could lead to some serious economic instability 📉

🤔 so if the supreme court decides in favor of trump it means that presidents can basically fire anyone they want from independent agencies like the FTC without having to go through Congress? that sounds super scary for accountability and checks on power 🙅‍♂️ doesn't this go against the whole idea of democracy where multiple branches of government are supposed to balance each other out? what if a president just fires off someone who's not doing what they want and then keeps replacing them until they get the desired outcome? that would be pretty uncool 😒

I'm low-key nervous about where this is going 🤯. If the Supreme Court sides with Trump, it could be a major blow to our system of checks and balances. The idea that the president should have complete control over who leads the executive branch agencies feels like a recipe for disaster 🚨. I mean, what's next? The President getting to appoint and fire every single judge on the court? It's a slippery slope, you know? 💥 And it raises so many questions about accountability – if the president is above the law, who's holding them accountable? 👮‍♂️ It's a big deal, folks.

🤯 just wondering if anyone else thinks it's crazy that the Supreme Court is being asked to basically decide what checks on presidential power are even necessary... like, isn't this whole thing a bit backwards? shouldn't we have independent agencies making decisions for the good of the country, not some guy in the Oval Office trying to pack his own crew? 🤔

I'm not loving this trend 🤔. The idea that the Supreme Court is going to side with the president on expanding presidential power seems super concerning to me. I mean, think about it - if the president can basically fire anyone they want at will, that's just a recipe for disaster. What's next? They're gonna start making laws without Congress even knowing what's going on? 🤯 It's like, we need checks and balances, folks! The system is in place to prevent this kind of thing from happening. I'm definitely keeping an eye on this one 👀

I'm getting a bit uneasy about the direction this is heading 😟. If the Supreme Court sides with Trump on this one, it could fundamentally alter the delicate balance of power in the US government. The idea that the president has unchecked authority over executive branch personnel sends shivers down my spine 🥶. What's next? A more muscular executive branch would be a recipe for disaster, eroding democracy and checks on presidential authority 💔. Chief Justice Roberts' argument to distance himself from the 1935 precedent might just be our best hope for preserving some semblance of accountability 👮‍♂️.
