another media giant gobbling up smaller ones, sucks the life outta local news ... think about all the talented writers & editors who'll be forced to adapt or face the axe ... and for what? so USA TODAY Co. can milk these publications dry for profit meanwhile, it's just gonna get harder for everyday folks to find trustworthy info in their own backyard
this is gonna be interesting... think about all those years of detroit news being separate from the detroit free press - now we gotta see how usa today co is gonna handle it. i mean, both papers have been around for ages and won tons of pulitzers... but i guess change is good for some things right?
the thing that worries me is gonna be the impact on local journalism... with usa today co taking over, might we see less diversity in voices and perspectives? or will they manage to keep those unique detroit news vibes alive? only time'll tell
