Utah Man Cleared of Murder After Buying Sweatshirt Urged by Victim's Spirit
Anthony Holland, a 42-year-old man from Utah, was visited by law enforcement at his home on December 14th, 2023. He had no idea what crime he committed and believed he would be sent to jail. However, an investigation into the murder of Kristil Krug in Colorado revealed that Holland had an airtight alibi.

Holland had purchased a sweatshirt the day before Krug's murder at 12:16 pm, but he couldn't possibly have committed the crime and returned to Utah by the time of the murder. He showed police the receipt with the exact date and time stamped. This alibi cleared him immediately.
In an interview with "48 Hours," Holland revealed that he believes the spirit of Kristil Krug played a crucial role in his acquittal. According to him, after breaking up with Krug in 2000, their relationship seemed cut off forever. However, on November 27th, 2023, Holland reported feeling an unusual urge - "I just got an urge. I need another one. I don't have enough" - and subsequently bought a new sweatshirt.
Holland also mentioned that his late mother may have played some part in clearing his name, possibly through her spirit as well. This unexplained purchase led to the crucial alibi that ultimately exonerated Holland.

I mean, come on... a guy buys a sweatshirt because he gets an "urge" from some dead woman's spirit and suddenly he's got an alibi that clears him of murder? That's just too much to believe. And now his ex is free because her husband got caught for stalking her? This whole thing smells like a setup. I'm not saying Dan Krug was innocent, but the way this all went down seems suspiciously convenient. And what's with Holland's story about his mom's spirit helping him out too? That just sounds like a bunch of hooey to me 
... so some dude buys a sweatshirt at 12:16 pm on Nov 27th, gets an urge, and then buys another one the next day? Like, what are the chances, right? And now he's being cleared of murder because his mom's ghost might've had something to do with it
