Video evidence of atrocities emerges as Sudan’s RSF seizes el-Fasher

Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have seized the key city of el-Fasher, and video evidence has emerged showing mass atrocities committed by the forces. The RSF, a group accused of human rights abuses during the country's civil war, took control of the city in recent days.

The footage obtained by Al Jazeera depicts scenes of violence, including residents being beaten with sticks and stones, and buildings set on fire. It is unclear what prompted the takeover or how long the RSF will maintain its grip on el-Fasher.

OMG u gotta see dis vid iz crazy!!! Sudan's Rapid Support Forces takin over el-Fasher like its nobodies bizness 🤯 I'm not condoning their actions 4 sure, but u have to wonder what's goin on in that country right now... I mean, these forces r accused of all sorts of human rights abuses already, so it's not exactly shocking to see them gettin violent.

I dunno if we should be surprised that the RSF took control of el-Fasher or not - they've been makin headlines for years over their shady activities. But still, this latest vid iz disturbing... I hope someone gets 2 the bottom of what's goin on in Sudan and helps those affected by these atrocities 💔

OMG u wont blv wut happend in sudan rn... Rapid Support Forces took controle of key city el Fasher n theres vids showin mass atrocities lol wut r these guys doin?? they got a bad rep 4 human rights abuses during the civil war & now its lookin like dey dont care bout nothin... ppl bein beat wit sticks nd stones, buildings on fire... its all out of controle rn

idk wut prompted dese takeover or how long deyll hold on but i hop someone gets in dere ASAP 2 investigate n put a stop 2 dis mess. its sad that sudan's got another crisis on its hands.

man this is super concerning 🤕 Sudan's situation just keeps getting more complicated and I'm not surprised to see the Rapid Support Forces taking control of el-Fasher, it's like they're always up to something shady 🤑. The fact that video evidence is coming out showing mass atrocities committed by the RSF is just devastating 😔. It's like the country is stuck in a cycle of violence and human rights abuses and I don't see how we can keep turning a blind eye 👀.

I mean, what prompted the takeover? Was it some sort of power struggle or were they trying to capitalize on an opportunity? Whatever the reason, it's not like it's going to make things better for the people living in el-Fasher or anywhere else in Sudan 🤷‍♂️. We need to be keeping a close eye on this situation and seeing what kind of international pressure we can put on the RSF to stop their human rights abuses 💥.

🚨 this is wild - RSF taking over el-Fasher like, it's not exactly a surprise given their history of human rights abuses, but still... those vids of people getting beaten and buildings burning are straight out of hell 🤯. I mean, we've known about the RSF's atrocities for years, but to see it happen right in front of our eyes is just heartbreaking. The international community needs to be all over this ASAP and make sure the RSF doesn't get away with this. It's not like they're going to magically change their ways now that they've got control of a key city 🙄. And what's even more concerning is that we don't know who else might be involved or what the long game is here...

omg you guys I'm literally shaking thinking about what's going down in sudan 🤕 the rapid support forces taking over el-fasher is just devastating news i've been following this conflict for ages and it's like the situation just keeps getting worse and worse 🤯 i remember when i was studying abroad in africa like 5 years ago the stories of human rights abuses by the rsf were already coming out but no one seemed to care 😔 and now we're seeing video evidence that's just heartbreaking watching people get beaten up and buildings burn is just so horrific what's going on in this world 🌎 i wish people would pay more attention to these issues instead of all the noise around social media 👀

Man, this news is really unsettling 🤕. I mean, we've heard about the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) being accused of human rights abuses before, but to see it play out in real life like this is just horrific 😱. The fact that they've taken control of el-Fasher, a key city in Sudan, and are committing these atrocities, it's just disturbing.

I think what's most shocking about this is the scale of violence we're seeing. We're talking beatings with sticks and stones, buildings set on fire... it's like a war zone out there 🌪️. And the fact that no one seems to be intervening or stopping these atrocities, it's just really concerning.

I'm not sure what's going on in Sudan right now, but it's clear that something needs to be done to put an end to this violence and protect civilians. The international community needs to step up and provide support to the people of Sudan who are being affected by this crisis. We can't just sit back and watch as human rights abuses go unchecked 🤝.

man this is sick 🤯 Sudan's paramilitary group is just getting away with murder 😡 I mean we've known about these atrocities for ages but what are governments doing? 🙄 They're all too busy with their own politics to care about the civilians suffering in el-Fasher. It's like they're saying "oh, it's not our problem". 🤷‍♂️ And to make matters worse, this footage is from 2020... can you believe people were still living through this kind of brutality? 😱 The world needs to do more to stop these groups and bring them to justice. It's time for some accountability 💪

🤣 I mean, what's up with these military groups in Sudan? They're like the ultimate hotheads! First, they're fighting a civil war, then they're accused of human rights abuses... now they're taking over cities like it's their birthday 🎂. And to make matters worse, they're committing atrocities left and right... beatings with sticks, buildings on fire? It's like they're trying to win some kind of crazy bet 🤪. I'm not saying the government should step in or anything (let's keep that one under wraps 😏), but can't these guys just get along for once? Maybe take a deep breath and have a group chat to work it out? 📱💬

🤔 I'm not sure why this is getting so much attention. Like, we've seen this kind of stuff go down before in Sudan and other conflict zones. The RSF has been accused of all sorts of human rights abuses, and it's just weird that they're taking over el-Fasher now? 🙄 I mean, are we really surprised by this?

And can we talk about how these video clips get shared around the world so quickly? It's like, some people love to be the first to know about whatever drama is happening somewhere else. 😴 But do we ever really think about what that says about our own societies and how we consume information? 🤯

I'm not saying I condone what's going on in Sudan at all – human rights abuses are never okay, regardless of where they happen. But let's not get too caught up in the drama here. Can't we focus on finding solutions to these problems instead of just sharing clips around social media? 📹

😔 this is so sad to see... Sudan's situation just keeps getting worse. I mean, think about all those innocent people caught in the crossfire. The RSF taking over el-Fasher like that... it's just another example of how things can spiral out of control. 🤕 we need some kind of help in there, you know? maybe some sort of mediation or something. I've seen footage like this before and it's just heartbreaking. It makes you want to scream and do something, but at the same time... I don't know, it's just really frustrating. 😤 can't we all just get along and find a way to resolve conflicts peacefully? 🙏

man this is so depressing 🤕... Sudan's in a mess right now and it's not looking good. I mean we all know about the civil war and stuff, but to see this footage of people being beaten and buildings on fire is just heartbreaking 😔. It's like, what's going on with these paramilitary forces? They're supposed to be protecting the country, but instead they're causing more harm.

I think it's crazy that el-Fasher has fallen under their control 🤯. I mean, that city is a major hub for education and culture... what's gonna happen to all those people living there now? It's like they're just being thrown into chaos 😕. And the fact that these atrocities have been happening in secret for so long is just ridiculous 🙄.

We need to keep an eye on this situation and see how it unfolds 👀. Maybe some international pressure will be put on these forces to stop what they're doing... fingers crossed 🤞.

🤕 This is just another sad chapter in Sudan's ongoing struggle for peace. I mean, we've been following this conflict for ages and it feels like we're stuck in a loop 🔄. The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces have done some pretty questionable things in the past, but to see them committing atrocities on camera is just devastating 😔.

I'm thinking about all the people who are trying to rebuild their lives after years of war and now they get caught up in this mess again 🤯. It's like we're taking two steps forward and three back ⬅️. And what really gets me is that it feels like the international community isn't doing enough to put pressure on these groups to behave 🙄.

I'm worried about the people of el-Fasher, they deserve better than to be caught in the crossfire 💔. It's time for us to step up and demand more accountability from those in power 👊. We can't just sit back and watch as human rights are ignored 🚫.

😬 this is so disturbing i keep thinking about all those innocent people who got caught up in the chaos - the RSF needs to be held accountable for these atrocities, it's just not right that they're being allowed to run amok like this 🤕 and what's going on in Sudan really? how did it come to this? 🤔 i hope there are some good people who can step forward and help restore peace and order to the country 💖

😟 just saw this news about Sudan's paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces taking over el-Fasher... it's so sad to see these mass atrocities on camera 🤯 they beat people with sticks & stones, set buildings on fire... what is going on in the world? 🌎 how many more innocent ppl gotta suffer like this? 🙏 can't believe we still live in a time where such brutality exists 💔 RSF's got a history of human rights abuses, so this takeover just feels like more of the same... hope someone finds out what's going on & puts a stop to it ASAP 😓

🤕 this news is just heartbreaking... i mean, who gets caught up in violence like that? it's like they've lost all sense of humanity. and el-fasher, a city with so much history and culture, being taken over by forces that seem to be hell-bent on causing destruction. what's the point of taking control if you're just gonna burn and beat people? 🚫

i think this is exactly why we need more awareness about human rights issues around the world. it's easy to turn a blind eye when it's happening somewhere far, far away, but we can't keep pretending like these atrocities aren't real. 😔 and what's even worse is that there are people who do nothing, just stand by and watch as this happens.

we need to hold our leaders accountable for what's happening in countries like sudan, and support organizations that are working to bring about change. 💪 every single person can make a difference, no matter how small it may seem. 🌎

man this is getting outta hand 🤯 in sudan right now...RSF's been accused of some heavy stuff in the past and it looks like they're at it again. i mean, el-fasher is a key city and if they've taken control then that's gotta be bad news for anyone living there or trying to escape. those videos are pretty graphic - beating people with sticks and setting buildings on fire? that's some serious human rights abuse stuff. i feel like the international community needs to be all over this and make some noise, but at the same time you've got to wonder what prompted RSF to take control of the city in the first place... was it a coup or just a power grab?

😬 this is really concerning... i mean, sudan's already been through so much in recent years and now it seems like they're back to square one. paramilitary groups are just making things worse, you know? they create more chaos and violence, which leads to more human suffering. el fasher being seized by the rapid support forces is just devastating news... have you seen those videos from al jazeera? 🤯 it's heartbreaking to see people getting beaten up like that. what really gets me is how these atrocities are happening in broad daylight, with cameras all over. shouldn't there be some accountability for this kind of thing? 🙏

idk why everyone's all freaked out about the rsf taking el fasher... like they're just doing their job, ya know? i mean, paramilitary groups are always a thing in these kinds of situations. and yeah, some bad stuff has gone down in the past, but come on, it's not like the rsf is the first group to get violent in sudan. they're trying to restore order in a city that's been messed up for years, and somehow we're the ones judging them?

i also think the al Jazeera footage might be edited or whatever, idk... it's always hard to know what's really going on in these kinds of conflicts. but from where i'm sitting, the rsf seems like they're trying to do the right thing, even if their methods are a bit rough around the edges. maybe we should be supporting them instead of condemning them?
