Walnut Garden turns into a festive ‘Walnut Wonderland’ for the holidays

Philadelphians can deck the halls of Rittenhouse Square this holiday season with a splash of festive fun at Walnut Garden's transformation into Walnut Wonderland. On November 12th, the outdoor oasis on 1708 Walnut Street will burst into a dazzling display of twinkling lights and whimsical charm, welcoming visitors to a winter wonderland like no other.

As families gather 'round, they'll be treated to an enchanting atmosphere featuring an 22-foot illuminated tree that beckons guests to take a stroll through its sparkling branches. Meanwhile, a cozy heated tent and vibrant displays adorned with festive treats like candy canes, penguins, and ornaments line the entrance, setting the scene for a holiday celebration that's sure to delight.

Guests won't go thirsty either – sipping on specialty cocktails such as maple whiskey sours or spiced sangria is encouraged, accompanied by warm treats like s'mores at every table. The welcoming vibe extends to furry friends too, making it an inclusive spot for the whole family to revel in the magic of the season.

Walnut Wonderland's festivities are not just limited to weekdays – the whimsical wonderland stays afloat throughout Friday and Saturday nights with extended hours until midnight, while Sundays bring a more leisurely pace with evening visits from noon till 10 p.m. The enchanting countdown to New Year's begins on December 31st from 5 pm to 7 pm.

Admission to this dazzling winter escape remains free of charge, while patrons are invited to pay-as-you-go for the sumptuous delights available at Walnut Wonderland.

So they're turning that one spot into a mini Christmas village? I gotta admit, it looks like a pretty cool idea - twinkling lights, heated tent, treats... what's not to love? It's actually kinda refreshing that they're making it free admission and allowing people to pay for the extras, so everyone can enjoy it without feeling left out.

ummm so like whats up with these cities trying to make every outdoor space into a festive party zone? like i get it ppl wanna feel merry and all but can we just enjoy nature as is without all the twinkly lights & s'mores 🤷‍♀️🔥 idk about me but sometimes less is more, right?

omg u gotta see dis rittenhouse square transformation 🎄🏰 its like walking into a christmas movie! i mean who doesnt love twinklin lights & cozy heated tents? and can we talk about those festive treats tho?? candy canes, penguins, ornaments... my kidz are gonna freak out!! 😂 also free admission is a total win, but idk if they really plan on u makin it thru the long lines for food tho 🤔

omg u gotta check out walnut wonderland its gonna be lit!! 🎉🌟 i was there last weekend and it was like stepping into a christmas dream 😍 the twinkling lights on that 22ft tree tho is giving me all the feels 🤩 and the heated tent with s'mores at every table? yessss please! ☕🍰 plus its free admission so who cares about the money 💸 the vibes are super chill too, my little nephew got to bring his stroller out and we just chillin' while we enjoy the festive atmosphere 🐻❤️

omg u guys i just heard about walnut wonderland and im SO down 🎄🎅️!! i was thinking we should take our fam there this holiday season idk if its gonna be crowded tho but its def worth checking out those twinkling lights are literally the most beautiful thing since jingle bells 💫🎶 i also heard they have s'mores at every table lol what a genius move by walnut garden cant wait to snap some pics with my furry friend too 📸😊

I'm not convinced by all this festive fuss 🤔. I mean, have you seen the size of that illuminated tree? 22 feet? It's just going to create a lot of heat and energy consumption. And what about the whole 'pay-as-you-go' thing? Just an excuse for them to sell overpriced treats to people who are already in a festive mood 😂. And don't even get me started on the noise and crowds... it's just going to be chaos 🎉. I'll stick to my quiet winter nights at home, thanks 😊.

Ain't nothin' like a festive oasis in the middle of the city! Who needs fancy NYC or LA holiday markets when you got Walnut Wonderland right in Philly?! [GIF of people celebrating with confetti popping]

I love how they're getting creative with Rittenhouse Square this holiday season 🎄🌃. That tree is gonna be a total showstopper! And I'm all about that inclusive vibe - furry friends welcome too? That's just the best way to make everyone feel included, you know? Plus, who doesn't love s'mores and specialty cocktails to go with it? 🍫🍹 It sounds like Walnut Wonderland is gonna be a real treat for families. I'll def check it out when it opens on Nov 12th... maybe I'll even bring my pup along 🐶

omg can't wait for walnut wonderland 🎄💡 they're doing it right with the twinkling lights and cozy vibes i mean who doesn't love a good s'mores table every night should be like this lol and free admission is a total win 👍 also yay fur babies are allowed too that's so inclusive

Yooo, have you seen that Rittenhouse Square is gettin' transformed into a full-on Winter Wonderland 🎄🌟? Like, I'm low-key hyped for it! They got this 22ft illuminated tree and heated tent with all sorts of treats like s'mores & spiced sangria... it's gonna be LIT 🔥. And the best part is, it's free admission! Can't wait to check it out with my fam and furry friends 🐾💕. The extended hours on Fri n Sat nights are gonna make it a total game-changer. Count me in for that NYE party 💥

I'm not a fan of all these over-the-top holiday events 🤔. I mean, can't we just chill and enjoy the season in our own way? This Walnut Wonderland thing sounds like it's just trying to outdo everyone else with its fancy lights and pricey drinks. What's wrong with having a simple Christmas tree and some hot cocoa by the fire instead of all this drama 🎄. And don't even get me started on how touristy this whole thing is going to be - Rittenhouse Square is supposed to be a chill spot, not some theme park for holiday enthusiasts 😒.

omg u guys 🤩 I'm so down for a festive spot like this in philly! Rittenhouse Square is already pretty lit but adding all those twinkling lights and cozy vibes? game changer 💡. And can we talk about the s'mores and specialty cocktails tho? 🍪🍹 it's gonna be a fun way to kick off the holiday season for sure 👫. I love that they're inclusive too, so my pup can come along for the ride 🐶💕

omg 🤩 can't wait for walnut wonderland to go live!!! it's like a magical oasis in the middle of philly ❤️ the twinkling lights and whimsical charm sound amazing! i'm so down for the s'mores and specialty cocktails, and that they're furry friendly is a major win 🐾🍻 the fact that admission is free is just icing on the cake 🎁 it's going to be such a fun spot for families to enjoy together during the holiday season 🌟

OMG u guys! 🤩 Rittenhouse Square is literally goin to be the most festive spot in Philly this holiday season 🎄🎅! I'm lovin the idea of a free admission but those specialty cocktails tho?! 💸 We should totes take the kiddos and have a s'mores party at Walnut Wonderland 🍪😂 And yay for furry friends being welcome too!! 🐾💕 It's goin to be a winter wonderland like no other, def! Can't wait to check it out!!! 🎉

so its nice that Rittenhouse Square is getting all decked out for the holidays 🎄... i mean, who doesn't love a good twinkling light display, right? and its great that they've got it set up in this really cool outdoor oasis called Walnut Garden. its like a winter wonderland come to life!

i do wish they'd considered some eco-friendly options though - all those lights and whatnot are gonna add up... but i guess thats just one of those trade-offs when you're trying to create an immersive experience.

anyway, sounds like its gonna be a super fun spot for families with kids (and their furry friends too!). who doesnt love sipping on some spiced sangria while munching on s'mores? 🍸🎉

I'm totally stoked about Rittenhouse Square being transformed into Walnut Wonderland 🎄, but I gotta wonder if it's a bit too much, you know? I mean, 22-foot illuminated tree is amazing and all, but like, isn't that just a bit over-the-top? And what about the crowds? I've heard it gets super busy on weekends, especially on Friday nights... 🤯

But wait, on the other hand, the whole inclusivity vibe with furry friends allowed sounds super cool! Like, why not right? It's all about spreading holiday cheer and making everyone feel welcome. And those specialty cocktails sound like a total game-changer – maple whiskey sours or spiced sangria? Yaaas, please! 🍹

I guess what I'm trying to say is... Walnut Wonderland seems like a pretty great idea, but then again, it might be too much for the whole city to handle. Ugh, my mind's made up, and now I just can't decide if I want to go or stay home 🤷‍♀️.

omg i am literally so down for walnut wonderland! 🎄🕯️ i mean who wouldn't want to stroll through a 22ft illuminated tree and sip on maple whiskey sours while snuggled up in a heated tent? 🍹 it sounds like the perfect spot to make some magical memories with fam 🐶💫 i'm loving that it's free admission too, so everyone can come and get their holiday cheer on! 🎉 but idk if they're gonna be able to keep up with the crowds, it looks like they're gonna need to bring in some serious festive vibes to handle the hype 😂

omg i'm literally so stoked about walnut wonderland!!! 🎄🔥 philadelphia is gonna be SO lit this holiday season with this magical spot! i mean 22ft illuminated tree?! and cozy heated tent?! gotta get there ASAP to sip on some maple whiskey sour and enjoy the festive vibes with my squad 💕🍸 and furry friends too, yay for inclusivity! 🐾❤️ can't wait for the countdown to new year's on dec 31st 🎉😍 and that admission is FREE?! yes please, more reasons to go! 🤩💖

I'm so down for a Walnut Wonderland 🎄🔥! It sounds like they've got everything covered for a fun family night out - twinkling lights, cozy heated tent, yummy treats... what more could you ask for? 🤗 Plus, it's inclusive and furry friends are welcome too! 🐾❤️ I'm loving the extended hours on weekends, perfect for a Friday or Saturday night celebration under the stars. And the countdown to New Year's Eve sounds like a blast! 🎊 Can't wait to try out Walnut Wonderland this holiday season 🎄👍
