Win hardware, collectibles, and more in the 2025 Ars Technica Charity Drive

Ars Technica's annual Charity Drive is here, and it's time to give back while also snagging some sweet hardware and collectibles. The drive supports two great causes: Penny Arcade's Child's Play charity and the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), which defends internet freedom.

This year's swag pile is impressive, with over a dozen prizes valued at nearly $5,000, including gaming hardware like the ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet/laptop, as well as collectibles like an Indiana Jones Collector's Edition for PC. The list of prizes is extensive and includes some unique items, such as Analogue 3D retro gaming hardware and open-sourced routers.

To participate, simply donate to Child's Play or the EFF using a credit card or PayPal, or by picking an item from their Amazon wish lists. You can also support them directly through Ars Technica's campaign page. Once you've donated, register your entry in the sweepstakes by sending a digital copy of your receipt to [email protected] with your name, address, and contact information.

The winners will be notified and given the chance to choose their prize by January 31st. The prizes are subject to change, but here's what we know so far:

* ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet/laptop
* Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold + case
* Indiana Jones Collector's Edition for PC
* Analogue 3D retro gaming hardware
* Analogue Duo retro gaming hardware

Don't miss out on this opportunity to give back and win some amazing gear. Donate now, enter the sweepstakes, and help Ars Technica support a good cause.

The total value of prizes is estimated at over $5,000. Last year's drive raised nearly $40,000 for charity, contributing to a total haul of more than $542,000 since 2007. This year, we're aiming higher and hope that our readers will dig deep to support these great causes.

๐Ÿคฉ Oh man, I'm so hyped for Ars Technica's charity drive! It's amazing to see a company like that giving back to such great causes like Child's Play and the EFF. The prizes they're giving away are insane too - I mean, who wouldn't want an ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet/laptop or a vintage Analogue 3D retro gaming hardware? ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿ’ป It's not just about winning stuff though, it's also about supporting awesome organizations that do so much good work. We should all try to donate something no matter how small, every year for this charity drive. ๐Ÿ’ธ

๐Ÿค‘ I'm still reminiscing about those old PC gaming competitions back in the day ๐ŸŽฎ... anyway, I think it's so cool that Ars Technica is doing this charity drive again. Giving back to the community while getting some awesome gear is like a dream come true for me! ๐Ÿ’ป I'm not really into gaming anymore (my console broke like 5 years ago ๐Ÿ˜”), but supporting causes like Child's Play and EFF feels super important. Did you guys know that last year they raised nearly $40,000? That's nuts! ๐Ÿคฏ This year's haul is estimated to be over $5,000 - I hope it's even more than that. Donate now, enter the sweepstakes, and let's make this one a good one ๐Ÿ’•

just saw this and i'm tempted to donate ๐Ÿค‘ but honestly the prizes are pretty meh... i mean what's up with all the gaming hardware lol? can't they throw in some retro consoles or something like that? still might get into it tho, just need to persuade my wallet ๐Ÿ˜œ

I'm always a fan of charity drives like this! ๐ŸŽ It's amazing how something as simple as donating or participating in a sweepstakes can bring so much joy to both those giving back and those receiving it. I've seen firsthand how these donations make a real difference in people's lives, especially for kids who receive toys and goodies from Child's Play.

It's also great to see Ars Technica supporting the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) too. Protecting internet freedom is such an important issue, and it's awesome that they're using this charity drive as a way to bring attention to it.

I'm definitely going to participate in this year's drive! Who wouldn't want some sweet gaming hardware or a retro gaming setup? ๐Ÿคฉ Not only will I be supporting a great cause, but I might just win something amazing too. Fingers crossed for all the participants out there!

Ugh man ๐Ÿคฏ I'm getting old, remember when we used to have to actually use CDs and DVDs instead of downloading everything online? This charity drive is awesome tho ๐Ÿ’ป I love how they're supporting those two great causes, Child's Play and EFF. Giving back is so important, especially for kids who need gaming consoles and other tech stuff.

I'm also stoked about the prizes this year - ROG Flow Z13 is gonna be a beast ๐Ÿค–, and that Indiana Jones Collector's Edition sounds like a sweet collector's item! Analogue 3D retro gaming hardware? Yes please! ๐Ÿ˜Ž And it's amazing to see how much Ars has raised for charity over the years. Last year was $40k, now they're aiming for more than that? That's dedication ๐Ÿ™Œ

I'm actually gonna check out some of these prizes and donate if I can afford it ๐Ÿค‘. Every little bit counts, right? And who knows, maybe I'll even win something awesome! Fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž

omg i'm so down for this charity drive ๐Ÿคฉ๐ŸŽ!!! its like, my fave thing about tech is that u can use it to give back to society. i mean, who doesn't love a good deal on a new gaming laptop tho? ๐Ÿ˜‚ lololol the rog flow z13 is literally the most sought after thing right now ๐Ÿคฏ and to think that its part of this awesome charity drive? amazing! i've been meaning to donate more to child's play for ages, so this is the perfect excuse ๐Ÿค‘๐Ÿ’ธ u guys should def check out the prizes list, theres some crazy cool stuff there like retro gaming hardware ๐Ÿ˜†

Ugh, I'm not getting my hopes up about this charity drive... it's just another way for tech companies to pawn off their old junk on us. The prizes are pretty cool, I guess, but let's be real, most of these people won't even use them before they get lost in the mail ๐Ÿ“จ.

And what's with all the hype around supporting internet freedom? Like we haven't got enough problems with Big Tech already... the EFF is just a fancy way of saying "people who think they can control the internet without getting sued". And don't even get me started on Penny Arcade's Child's Play charity - it's just a bunch of rich dudes playing video games to feel good about themselves ๐Ÿคช.

I mean, I'm all for giving back and whatnot, but let's not pretend like this is going to make a huge difference. It's just another drop in the bucket, if you ask me...

omg i cant even believe its been like 8 years since childs play started getting all those sweet gaming consoles ๐Ÿคฏ, last year they got like a bunch of new ps5s and xboxes, which is awesome but also kinda sad that it took that long for them to get some new stuff... anyway i guess this year its a good chance to score some cool hardware and help out at the same time ๐Ÿ’ป, idk if im going to enter the sweepstakes or not though, gotta check how much everything costs ๐Ÿค‘

I'm stoked they're doing this again ๐ŸŽ‰. The prizes look sick, I mean who wouldn't want a ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet/laptop? ๐Ÿ˜… But, I gotta say, $5k is a pretty high estimate. I hope they can hit that mark. Last year's drive was already impressive, with nearly $40k raised, so let's see if this year can top that. ๐Ÿค‘ On the other hand, it's awesome to support Penny Arcade's Child's Play charity and the EFF, two great causes that do amazing work. If you're feeling generous, donate now and enter the sweepstakes! ๐Ÿ’ธ

Just saw that Ars Technica is doing their annual charity drive ๐Ÿค— and I'm so down to participate! Supporting Child's Play and EFF is a great way to give back while also getting some awesome hardware and collectibles. That Indiana Jones Collector's Edition is straight fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ, and who wouldn't want an Analogue 3D retro gaming rig? The prizes are insane, with a total value of over $5k ๐Ÿค‘. Last year they raised $40k, so I'm hoping this year will break that record ๐Ÿ’ธ. Donating is easy peasy, just click on the link and you're done ๐ŸŽ‰. Let's all come together to support these amazing causes!
