Windy Day & Back to Mild - WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports | Fort Lauderdale

South Florida's Quick Cools Down, But Weather Takes a Turn.

A sudden cooldown in South Florida has ended, and today will be milder before temperatures rise again. However, with an old front approaching from the south and high pressure building over the mid-Atlantic region, gusty winds are expected to make an appearance, leading to rough marine conditions and increased rip current risk at area beaches.

The forecast is calling for scattered showers moving into the area tonight, but by Sunday, dry conditions will prevail. The winds are expected to die down as warmer air takes over.

A front is predicted to reach Northern Florida on Monday, but it won't make a significant impact until Wednesday, when it reaches Southern Florida. This means that temperatures will remain above average through mid-week before returning to seasonal norms once the front passes.

According to the meteorologist, Vivian Gonzalez, the front will move through dry air and not bring any significant moisture into the area.

As we head into the weekend, make sure to prioritize your safety by checking the latest forecast and rip current advisories if you plan on spending time at the beach.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this weather cycle... so South Florida cools down, but then it's all like "oh wait, high pressure is coming" and now there are gusty winds? Like, what's going on here? 🤔 Can someone give me a source on how accurate these predictions are? And what exactly does Vivian Gonzalez mean by "dry air"? Is that just meteorologist speak for "it won't bring any rain"? 🌫️ I need more info than this...

🌊😬 just realized how crazy it's gonna be over the weekend... gusty winds, rough seas, and potentially some decent thunderstorms 🌪️. also kinda bummed that temps are gonna be back to normal after this brief cooling down ☀️. hope everyone stays safe out there 🙏.

omg can't believe summer is almost over in south florida! i was so stoked when it cooled down but now gusty winds are coming 😩 gotta be careful when going to the beach this weekend, don't wanna get caught in a rip current 🌊 and then my friends were planning on having a bonfire on sunday... hope they don't get cancelled due to bad weather ⛔️ anyway, i guess it's back to school mode soon... think i'll just take a nap instead of studying 😉

ok so they're saying this front is gonna bring some gusty winds and rough seas... but apparently it's not gonna be wet? 🤔 like what, the dry air thing is supposed to magically make it all better? also how come temps only go back to normal after like Wednesday? shouldn't that be sooner considering we're already having these crazy cold snaps 🌡️ I need a source on this dry air front thing...

omg i'm so over these temp swings in south florida i go from sweating like a pig to freezing my butt off like 2 days in a row lol what's up with that? 🤣 anyway, gusty winds and rough marine conditions are gonna make beach days kinda sketchy this weekend. can't wait for the front to move through though - dry air is just what i need after all that humidity 😒

Ugh, perfect weather is so fleeting! One day it's sunny and warm, the next it's cool and breezy... I'm just glad my kiddo wasn't planning a big beach trip for today lol 😂. But seriously, I do wish they'd give us more notice about those gusty winds. My little one got scared of thunderstorms last week and still has nightmares about them 🤕. Can we please get some consistent weather around here? It's hard enough to keep track of school schedules without having to worry about changing plans because of the weather 🤦‍♀️.

Ugh I was loving that warm weather in South Florida 🌴🏖️, but now it's like the weather is playing a cruel joke on us 😒. First it cools down, then it's back to warmer temps, and now we're dealing with gusty winds and rough seas? Not exactly what I want to deal with when trying to enjoy my summer vibes 💨. And of course the rip current risk is a major concern 🌊... can't we just have one relaxing beach day without any drama? 😩 Anyway, sounds like it's going to be a bumpy ride until the front passes... hope everyone stays safe out there ☀️
