Winter on the Waterfront returns to the Independence Seaport Museum

As winter descends upon Philadelphia, locals and visitors alike will find themselves drawn to a beloved holiday tradition. The Independence Seaport Museum is set to transform its waterfront location into a festive hub of activity with 'Winter on the Waterfront', an event taking place this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Upon arrival, guests are invited to immerse themselves in an array of creative pursuits designed to evoke the spirit of the season. Crafty visitors can indulge their artistic side by crafting Seaport Snowflakes and tying knot-style ornaments that make for charming trinkets. Meanwhile, those with a sweet tooth will delight in assembling gingerbread-style boats at the museum's boat shop.

For an added touch of nostalgia, historic cruiser Olympia is open for self-guided holiday tours, allowing visitors to delve into its storied past while surrounded by festive decorations.

A highlight of this year's event is the Cannoli Flavor Contest, a unique partnership with Holy Cannoli that invites attendees to sample proposed flavors and cast their votes on which will be featured in January. This interactive element not only adds to the merriment but also gives visitors an opportunity to get involved and shape the future of this beloved Philadelphia treat.

The best part? All activities are included with regular museum admission, ensuring that participants can explore the museum's exhibits, participate in these festive crafts, and take part in the day's seasonal offerings without breaking the bank.

I'M SO DOWN FOR THIS EVENT!!! IT SOUNDS LIKE THE PERFECT WAY TO GET INTO THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT! I LOVE THE IDEA OF MAKING SEAPORT SNOWFLAKES AND TYING THOSE KNOT-STYLE ORNAMENTS, AND ASSEMBLING GINGERBREAD-STYLE BOATS?!?! THAT'S JUST TOO CUTE!!! AND THE CANNOLI FLAVOR CONTEST?!?! HOLY CANNOLI IS GOING TO HAVE SO MUCH FUN WITH THAT! I'M EXCITED TO SEE WHAT FLAVORS THEY COME UP WITH AND VOTE ON WHICH ONE WILL BE FEATURED! AND THE BEST PART?! IT'S ALL INCLUDED WITH REGULAR MUSEUM ADMISSION!

I'm so over this winter thing 🤪. Who needs to get all bundled up just for some cold weather event? And what's with the Seaport Snowflakes? Just another way for people to make a mess and clean it up afterwards, if you ask me 😒. I mean, can't they just leave their crafty projects at home like normal humans?

I'm so down for this Winter on the Waterfront event at the Independence Seaport Museum! 🎄 Who wouldn't want to spend a Saturday making their own Seaport Snowflakes and knot-style ornaments? And, omg, assembling gingerbread-style boats sounds like so much fun! It's awesome that they're including all these activities with regular museum admission - it's perfect for families on a budget. I love how they're also involving the community in choosing the next Cannoli flavor 🤔. Can't wait to take my kiddos there and make some holiday memories! 🎅

omg i'm so down for winter on the waterfront this saturday!!! 🎄 i've heard they're giving away some sweet treats at the cannoli flavor contest, i need to get my vote in ASAP! 👀 and of course who wouldn't want to sail around on historic cruiser olympia with those festive decorations? 🚣‍♀️ it's gonna be such a cozy day out by the water...

🤔 honestly speaking, winter on the waterfront sounds like a super chill event but it feels like they're just rehashing old ideas. I mean, a cannoli flavor contest? isn't that something they've done every year for years? 🍰 can't they think outside the box and bring in some new stuff to keep things interesting?

and what's with the crafts and ornaments? i get it, it's festive but some people might just be looking for a quiet winter day without all the fuss. also, isn't the independence seaport museum kinda busy already? do they really need an event like this to bring in more visitors?

still, if you're into that sorta thing, i guess it could be fun 🎉 but let's hope they come up with some fresh ideas next year

Ugh I need a cuppa after reading this... Philly is getting all cozy for winter 🍵❄️. The Seaport Museum is doing its thing with Winter on the Waterfront and it sounds like so much fun! I'm totally down to get my crafty on and make some snowflakes, and who can resist a good gingerbread boat? 😊 The Cannoli Flavor Contest has me curious too, I love that people get to vote for their fave flavor. What's not to love about free activities and festive vibes all day long? It's the perfect excuse to get out and explore the museum with family and friends 🎉. I'm kinda jealous that it's happening this Saturday!
