Woman receives angry letter after sending message in a bottle out to sea: ‘I just wanted a bit of romance’

LONDON - A woman from the UK sent a message in a bottle out to sea with hopes of sparking a romantic connection with a stranger. However, she received an unexpected response - an angry letter telling her to stop littering.

Lorraine Forbes, 58, has been sending plastic bottles with letters inside them into the ocean for years, hoping to catch the attention of someone special. She had sent many messages in the past but never received any replies until now.

Forbes was shocked when she discovered the angry letter in a message from a stranger who claimed that she littered the beach where he found her bottle.

"I just wanted a bit of romance," Forbes said in an interview with The New York Post. "I never thought it would turn out like this."

Despite feeling disappointed and frustrated, Forbes acknowledged that she had been careless about her actions. She has since apologized for her mistake and is working to make amends by cleaning up the beach where she sent her last message.

"I was young and foolish," Forbes said. "I didn't think about the consequences of my actions. But I've learned from it, and I'm taking steps to be more responsible in the future."

Forbes' experience serves as a reminder that even the best intentions can have unintended consequences. Her story also highlights the importance of being mindful of our actions and their impact on the environment.

In a bizarre twist, Forbes has since received numerous messages from people around the world who are sympathetic towards her situation. They have offered words of encouragement and support, with some even sharing their own experiences of sending messages in bottles.

Forbes said she was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and gratitude towards her story. She plans to use this experience as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of taking care of our planet and its resources.

"I'm so grateful for all the kind words and messages I've received," Forbes said. "It's a wonderful reminder that there are still good people in the world who care about one another."

omg I feel bad for her, she just wanted love and connection but got an angry response instead 🤕...and honestly it's kinda funny how she got roasted 😂...but at the same time I can see why someone would be upset about littering, we gotta take care of our planet 🌎...I'm glad she learned from her mistake and is making amends, that takes courage 💪...and it's awesome to see all the kind messages she's getting from people around the world, it just goes to show that there are still good vibes out there 🤗

I feel bad for Lorraine, she didn't mean to litter 🤕. She was just trying to be romantic & creative... but then again, her actions did cause harm 🌎. It's a great lesson for us all: even with good intentions, we gotta think about the consequences 💡. I love that it backfired in such a weird way tho 😂 - who knew getting rejected by someone would turn into an environmental message?! Anyway, glad she's owning up to her mistake & doing something positive 🌱💚

Omg this is crazy 🤯, i mean i feel bad for her but like she literally put herself out there in the ocean with a message saying ur single and looking for love 🚮 but instead of getting some nice replies from strangers shes getting angry letters about littering lol what r we gonna do 🤷‍♀️ idk if shes been careless w/ her actions in the past but it's still wild how ppl found out & reacted like that 🌊

Ugh, just read about this lady Lorraine Forbes who sent a message in a bottle but got an angry letter from some stranger who's mad at her for littering the beach 🤦‍♀️. Like, I get it, we should all be more careful with our actions and stuff, but still... how would she even know if she was littering? I feel bad for her, but at the same time, I'm a bit annoyed that she's getting so much sympathy from people 🤷‍♀️. It's like, yeah, we should all take care of the planet, but sometimes it feels like the universe is just piling on 😒.

Ugh, Lorraine Forbes is literally sending plastic bottles into the ocean thinking it's some kinda dating thing 😂🌊? Like, come on! She wasn't even thinking about the environmental impact of her actions. It's crazy how she got roasted by a stranger for littering 🤦‍♀️. I guess you could say karma caught up with her... fast ⏱️. But you know what's even crazier? All these people around the world are now defending her and offering words of encouragement 💖. Like, isn't it weird how one person's mistake can turn into a global thing? 🤔

🤯 I gotta say, this story is CRAZY! Sending messages in bottles with hopes of finding love? Who comes back with an angry letter telling you to stop littering? 🤷‍♀️ Still, I guess it's a good thing she took responsibility for her actions and apologized. It's not about the romantic connection, but about being mindful of our impact on the environment. 🌎💚 And now she's getting messages from all over the world showing her that there are still kind people out there? That's just amazing! 💕

I gotta say, Lorraine Forbes' story is both heartbreaking & uplifting at the same time 😔💕. On one hand, it's crazy to think she was hoping for romance from someone she met through a message in a bottle, but on the other hand, she took responsibility for her actions & apologized for littering 🌟. It's amazing how people have rallied around her & offered words of encouragement - it shows that even when we make mistakes, we can learn from them & grow 💖. And I love that she's using this experience to raise awareness about taking care of our planet 🌎💚!

omg u cannt believe this 🤯 lorraine forbes is like totally changed her ways after sending out that message in a bottle lol, but seriously she was careless and littered the beach where she sent it to sea...but on the bright side ppl r rallying around her and sharing their own experiences of sending messages in bottles 💕🌊 i think its so cool how shes taking this as an opportunity to raise awareness about taking care of our planet 🌟

🤣 this is wild lol like who sends an angry letter to someone they don't even know?! 📝 but for real, it's kinda admirable that Lorraine took responsibility and apologized for her actions... we should all be more mindful of our impact on the environment 🌎 next time she sends a message in a bottle, maybe she'll make sure to recycle the plastic bottle first 💡

I mean, can you believe this? She sent out these bottles with letters thinking it was gonna be some deep connection but ends up getting roasted for littering 🤣🌊. But for real though, it's kinda funny that her romantic gesture got turned into a public shaming. On the other hand, I guess it's also kinda admirable that she owns up to her mistake and is making amends by cleaning up the beach 🙏. It's like, we've all been there with our thoughtless moments, but kudos to Lorraine for taking responsibility. And wow, all those supportive messages from strangers? That's just beautiful ❤️. I guess it's a reminder that even in weird online interactions, you can still find kindness and humanity 💖.

I feel bad for Lorraine, she just wanted some love & connection 🤗 but ended up getting roasted by someone on the beach lol. Poor thing didn't think about the impact of her actions 🙈 and now she's making amends & cleaning up the mess, good on her for that 💚. It's actually kind of awesome that she got a bunch of supportive messages from all around the world, it just goes to show that even when things don't go as planned, we can still get a positive response 🌎💖

🌊📝 So, like, what's up with this whole message-in-a-bottle thing? I mean, Lorraine Forbes was just trying to find someone special and had no idea her actions would cause a scene. The lady gets an angry letter for littering the beach where she sent her bottle, and it's just... 🤯

But, you know, on the bright side, this whole situation has raised awareness about taking care of our planet 🌎💚. And, honestly, it's kinda cool that people are coming together to support Lorraine after getting upset with her 😊. I've made a little diagram to represent how this all went down:
```
+---------------+
| Message in |
| Bottle sent |
| out to sea |
+---------------+
|
| Angry response
v
+---------------+
| Lorraine gets |
| upset, feels |
| disappointed |
+---------------+
|
| People from around
| the world support her
v
+---------------+
| Awareness raised |
| for taking care of|
| our planet |
+---------------+
```
Anyway, it's all good in the end! 🌈

🤯 what a weird twist lol i mean i get her intent was to find romance but she just ended up littering instead 😂 and yeah its a bummer but shes taking responsibility for it so kudos to her for that. its funny how her story has kinda backfired but now its raising awareness about the environment which is actually pretty cool 👍

ugh, gotta feel bad for lorraine 🤷‍♀️... she didn't mean to litter, but now it's gonna take her ages to clean up her act 😬... and honestly, it kinda sucks that someone found her bottle and gave her an angry letter instead of a sweet message 💔... i guess it just goes to show that not everyone is as optimistic about romance as we are 🌟

🤷‍♀️ Can you believe this? Some dude finds a message in a bottle and just assumes she was littering and gets all mad 😒 I get it, we should all try to be more eco-friendly, but come on! She was trying to meet someone special not make a mess 🌊. Anyway, I think it's kinda cool that she took responsibility for her actions and cleaned up the beach 🚮💦. And now she's getting so much love from people all over the world 🌎❤️. Maybe this is just what we need - a reminder to be kind and understanding 🤗
