2 killed in police helicopter crash at active shooting scene in Arizona

Police Helicopter Crash Claims Two Lives in Arizona Amid Ongoing Shooting

A dramatic and deadly incident unfolded in Flagstaff, Arizona, Wednesday night when a police helicopter crash occurred at an active shooting scene. The helicopter, which was providing tactical air support to law enforcement agencies, crashed, killing both the pilot and a trooper/paramedic on board.

According to eyewitness Amanda Brewer, she heard multiple gunshots in the vicinity around 8:40 p.m. local time, prompting her to call 911. Within minutes, officers arrived at the scene, responding to reports of an active shooter. However, it was later revealed that a suspect had been taken into custody, suffering non-fatal gunshot wounds.

As Brewer continued to hear gunshots, she reported hearing the helicopter above her house just after 10 p.m., followed by more gunfire. She described the sound of the helicopter blades and the subsequent crash as "startling" and chaotic.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Major Incident Division has launched an investigation into the shooting, with assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board in the helicopter crash probe.

Flagstaff police have issued a shelter-in-place for one neighborhood following the incident, but fortunately, no other injuries were reported.

this is just crazy I mean, can you even imagine being on the ground when that happened? 😱 hearing those gunshots and then the sound of the helicopter crashing like what was going through their minds?! I'm so glad everyone else got out okay but two lives lost over a shooting incident in Arizona? it's just too much. I feel for the families of the two people who lost their lives πŸ€•.

I'm shocked that the police are taking so long to get it together πŸ™„. I mean, come on, two lives lost and they're still trying to figure out what went wrong? It's like they didn't even have a basic plan in place for helicopter operations. And now they're sheltering people in their homes? That's just great. I'm sure the person who heard multiple gunshots and called 911 was totally fine with waiting around for hours, listening to more gunfire 🀯. The authorities need to step up their game and get this under control ASAP! πŸ’₯

😱 This is so crazy 🀯 I'm still trying to wrap my head around it... a police helicopter crashing just as an active shooter scene was going on?! It's like something straight out of a movie πŸŽ₯. I mean, can you even imagine being in the middle of that situation and hearing the sound of those blades spinning above you before they just crash down πŸ’”? It's terrifying just thinking about it. πŸ€• The fact that the trooper/paramedic on board didn't get to help anyone is just devastating 😭. I hope whoever was taken into custody gets the help they need, though πŸ™. And kudos to Amanda Brewer for staying calm and calling 911 – she's a hero in my book! πŸ’ͺ

Ugh, this is just so messed up πŸ€•... like what's the point of even having a police helicopter if it's just gonna crash? And to think there was an actual shooter in the area, so it's not like they were just randomly flying around... anyway, I'm really worried about those families who lost loved ones. πŸ™ The investigation is probably gonna take forever, but at least they have some experts from the FAA and NTSB helping out... can't imagine how hard it must be for those first responders trying to navigate that scene 😩

I'm like totally shocked about this helicopter crash thingy 🀯... I mean, how can something so safe-sounding like a police helicopter crash and kill people? But at the same time, I guess it's kinda expected when you think about how unpredictable those shooting situations can be... Wait, nope! That's not true either! πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ I mean, the helicopter was actually just making too many noise and startled everyone, including the shooters. Yeah, that must've been it! The police should really work on improving their helicopter soundproofing tech tho πŸ€”... or maybe they already did, idk...

😱 just saw this crazy news about that police helicopter crash in Arizona... what if they had landed safely instead of crashing? πŸ€” could've saved those two lives πŸ•ŠοΈ anyway, hope the shooter gets justice soon and these brave officers rest in peace πŸ’” we gotta think twice before using drones/aircraft for search & rescue missions 🚁πŸ’₯

Oh my gosh 🀯... like what just happened?! I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. A cop helicopter just crashed while there's already a shooting going on in the area? That's crazy 😱. I feel so bad for that pilot and paramedic who lost their lives. It's like, they were doing their job trying to help people... πŸ€•.

And can you even imagine being in Amanda Brewer's shoes? Hearing all those gunshots and then hearing the helicopter above her house just before it crashes? That must have been super terrifying 😨. I hope she's okay, though. The fact that no other injuries were reported is a huge relief, at least πŸ™.

I'm also wondering... how did this even happen? Was there something wrong with the helicopter or was it just a freak accident? And what about the suspect who was taken into custody? Will we ever know why they were shooting in the first place? πŸ€”

πŸ˜” just heard about that crazy helicopter crash in Arizona 🚁πŸ’₯ and I'm still trying to process how something like this can happen during an active shooting scene... it's so senseless πŸ’€ I mean, you'd think law enforcement would have everything under control, but life is full of unexpected twists and turns πŸ”„. Can we just take a moment to appreciate the bravery of all first responders out there? They put their lives on the line every day, and this incident is just another reminder of that πŸ˜•. I'm also wondering what kind of safety protocols were in place for that helicopter crew... was it even equipped with any kinda emergency backup systems? πŸ€”

😱 What's wrong with these modern advancements? I mean, we've got drones and robots doing cool stuff now, but can't even get our police helicopters to be reliable πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. It's just so... sad that two lives were lost in such a tragic incident πŸ’”. And those officers, they must have been on edge already with the active shooter situation 🚨. I guess you never really know what's going to happen until it happens... but still, it's crazy to think about how close we come to having those kinds of tragedies on a daily basis 😩. Anyway, hope everyone in that neighborhood is safe and sound πŸ™.

😱🚁πŸ’₯ Oh man, this is crazy! 🀯 A police helicopter crash is super rare & always tragic πŸ˜”. Arizona must be shaking right now πŸ’”. What was going on that made them send the helicopter in the first place? πŸ•΅οΈβ€β™‚οΈ Was it a hostage situation or a SWAT operation? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Hopefully, the suspect who got taken down was caught because innocent lives were at risk πŸ™. I hope the people affected by this incident are doing okay πŸ’•. The authorities must be super stressed right now πŸ˜“.

omg is this 4 real?? like how can this happen when theres already someone being shot?? i dont think police should be flying around during shooting scenes its like putting lives at risk lol my grandma would freak out if she saw that on the news 🀯 anyway, im glad no one else got hurt tho thats a big relief 😌 what do u guys think the helicopter was even doing there tho? πŸšπŸ’¨

awww man πŸ€• this is getting out of hand... can't even fly to help people without putting lives at risk πŸš¨πŸ’” and now a whole neighborhood is being locked down? that's just crazy 😬 gotta wonder how many more innocent ppl get hurt in these situations... meanwhile, suspect gets taken into custody w non-fatal wounds lol sounds like a silver lining but idk if it's enough to calm people down πŸ€”

omg this is so crazy what r ppl thinking about 2nd amendment laws n gun control?? 🀯 how can we even justify putting lives in danger like dis πŸ™ and also wht happened 2 dat helicopter crew?? was it a malfunction or did they just get caught up in the chaos?? πŸ’” any idea wut happened to that suspect who got taken into custody?? 🚨

just had to process this crazy news 🀯. two lives lost in an active shooting scene where police were already trying to handle it... it's like, how do you even plan for that kinda scenario? and now there's another investigation into the helicopter crash... so many questions still unanswered. and what's with the timing of all these incidents? it feels like a series of unfortunate events happening one after another πŸ€•. and I'm just sitting here thinking about the eyewitness who had to call 911 while hearing multiple gunshots nearby... can you even imagine? 😱
