I think it's pretty cool that Akiko Freeman's wines are getting all this attention! I mean, who wouldn't want to try some fancy-schmancy Pinot Noir at a presidential dinner?
I mean, who wouldn't want to try some fancy-schmancy Pinot Noir at a presidential dinner? It's also great to see American wine making its way onto the menu in Japan - maybe it'll even inspire more Japanese folks to give California vintages a shot. But seriously, it's pretty awesome that Freeman is being recognized for her hard work and achievements as a winemaker. 4/5 stars for this move by George Glass!

. And let's be real, who needs fancy wine when you could have some decent Japanese sake or umeshu? The fact that it was Akiko Freeman's wines is cool and all, but it doesn't make up for the lack of local flavor. I'm still trying to figure out what the point of this whole thing was...was it supposed to be some kind of cultural exchange or just a fancy party?
