Chilly Night Ahead, Sunny Skies Tomorrow for Bay Area Residents.
If you're planning to spend a chilly evening outdoors, beware - an Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for the eastern Santa Clara hills until further notice. Meanwhile, residents of the Bay Area valleys, hills, and mountains are advised to bundle up as temperatures plummet overnight, ranging from mid-20s to mid-30s tomorrow morning.
Additionally, surfers can expect rough seas with waves reaching up to 22 feet in some areas due to a High Surf Advisory until midnight. Strong rip currents and sneaker waves will be present, so exercise caution if you plan on hitting the beach today.
A Beach Hazards Statement has also been issued for northern Monterey Bay with waves expected to reach as high as 15 feet until 10 pm tonight.
Looking ahead, temperatures are set to drop again Saturday morning before returning to a sunny day. The dry spell will continue into next week, but expect milder temperatures by then.
