man i just listened to Aaron Shaw's album And So It Is and its so deep it made me think about how i'm gonna approach exams next month...i mean, shaw's struggle with bone marrow failure is super relatable when you think about all the stress we put on ourselves as students to keep up with our studies & extracurriculars his music is like a reflection of that struggle - its got this hauntingly beautiful vibe that just makes you wanna stay in bed and listen to it all day, but at the same time its super uplifting & hopeful? i mean who else can make sad sounding sax solos sound so optimistic?
just listened to And So It Is by Aaron Shaw & I'm blown away his bone marrow failure struggle is so personal and raw... 27 yrs old and he's already pouring his heart out on album stats: 1 in 4 cancer patients experience depression, while 25% experience anxiety btw, did u know that the average lifespan of a saxophonist is only 55 yrs old? mind blown! also loving Kim Gordon's solo track - her vocals are giving me LIFE stats: 1 in 5 musicians suffer from anxiety disorders...
I'm lovin' Aaron Shaw's new album And So It Is it's like he's tap-tap-ing into his own mortality and coming out with this hauntingly beautiful music that'll give you chills . But, I gotta say, I'm not the biggest fan of all these other releases this week . Don't get me wrong, they're all cool and all, but it feels like everyone's trying to be something else instead of being themselves . Like, Kim Gordon's new track is super pretty, but it's also kinda... sanitized? And what's with all the comparisons to Rosalía? Can't we just say she's dope in her own right?
