I've always thought it was super weird how white women are only supposed to care about issues affecting white people. Like, what about all the times Black women have been fighting for equality too? It's like they're expected to be loyal only to their own kinda folks, but not to actual equality. And don't even get me started on this whole "white womanhood" thing... it just feels like a way to make white women feel special while erasing everyone else's struggles . The fact that we still need articles reminding us of this stuff is wild
omg I just read this super insightful article about how white women have been used as a tool for racial control in the US . like, it's crazy to think that their participation in politics has always been conditional on being loyal to white men and maintaining white dominance... it makes total sense now why some ppl might say that feminism is a bit problematic? but what I'm still trying to wrap my head around is how white women have consistently voted against securing pathways to citizenship for immigrants, even though they themselves had gotten full citizenship rights... it's like, isn't that kinda contradictory? also can someone pls explain to me why there were no Black women in the original suffrage amendment?
Ugh, can't believe they're still talking about this . I mean, come on, we've known for ages that white women have been used as a tool to keep black people in their place. Like, the 19th Amendment is literally a prime example of this - all about giving rights to white women while keeping it out from black women? That's some messed up stuff .
And don't even get me started on how they're always making white womanhood out to be this virtuous thing, when really it's just a construct to keep black women down. I mean, have you seen the way they portray white women in politics? Always with these saccharine smiles and "oh, we care about everyone" vibes... nope .
It's so frustrating that we still haven't moved past this stuff. Like, when are we gonna talk about how black women have been fighting for equality and justice their whole lives? When are we gonna challenge the systems that keep them down? The article is right - it's time to put white women in check for once .
this whole thing is like, super complex but basically white women in the US have been used as a tool to control black people since forever, right? like they're always trying to maintain their power and privilege over us, even when we're fighting for our own rights . and don't even get me started on how they try to make themselves look all virtuous and whatnot compared to black women... it's just a way to distract from the fact that we're still being held back .
i mean, think about it, like they only got full citizenship after our ancestors were already marginalized and excluded, right? and now they're still trying to limit our access to healthcare and stuff... it's not like they're actually invested in making things equal for everyone .
