Amid playoff push, Bears survey season-ticket holders on potential Northwest Indiana stadium

Chicago Bears Fans Face a New Stadium Conundrum as They Weigh in on Northwest Indiana Location

The Chicago Bears are pushing forward with their playoff season while simultaneously exploring new stadium options across the border in Indiana. As part of this endeavor, the team has sent a survey to season-ticket holders seeking feedback on their preferred location for a potential Hoosier home field.

According to the survey, the proposed stadium would boast an impressive 15,000 parking spaces – more than double the capacity at Soldier Field – and offer one of the most extensive tailgating environments in the NFL. This modern fan-first facility is envisioned as being surrounded by a vibrant neighborhood destination.

Arlington Heights, where the team had previously focused their attention, is no longer the primary focus. With Illinois lawmakers failing to provide support for the project, the Bears are now considering two potential Indiana sites: one near Wolf Lake in Hammond and another nearby Gary's Hard Rock Casino.

While Governor JB Pritzker has expressed a willingness to chip in on infrastructure costs for the new stadium, he's emphasized that the team is ultimately responsible for footing the full $2 billion bill. The governor believes there can be overlap with existing infrastructure plans, particularly those outlined as part of his signature infrastructure improvement plan.

On the other hand, local leaders like Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle are advocating for an alternative location – the old Michael Reese Hospital site in Bronzeville. This site offers a unique opportunity to revitalize a neglected area while providing the Bears with a prime location on the lakefront.

As the survey results come in, it remains to be seen which Northwest Indiana location will emerge as the team's preferred choice for their next home field. With both state and local leaders weighing in on the proposal, one thing is clear: the future of Chicago Bears football is taking an exciting new turn – one that promises to bring significant benefits to fans across the region.

I'm low-key excited about this new stadium conundrum for the Chicago Bears! 🤔 I mean, who doesn't love a good tailgating spot, right? 😂 With 15,000 parking spaces and a neighborhood destination vibe, it sounds like they're really thinking about what fans want. And I think having a location in Northwest Indiana could be a win-win for both the team and the community. Plus, Governor Pritzker is cool with the team taking on most of the cost, so fingers crossed that can happen! 💰

I'm thinking, what's up with all this stadium drama 🤔? I mean, I get it, we need a better spot for the Bears, but 15k parking spaces and a "vibrant neighborhood destination" sounds like a whole lotta hassle 😬. And with the team having to foot that $2b bill themselves... not sure if it's worth it 🤑. On the other hand, reviving an old hospital site in Bronzeville could be kinda cool 🌊. We should see some innovative ideas come out of this proposal and make a stadium that's actually good for the fans and the community 💪.

idk about this whole stadium thing 🤔... chicago bears fans deserve better than some random location in northwest indiana. like, i get it, the old michael reese hospital site is a great spot and all, but isn't that kinda...in between chicago and indiana? wouldn't it be more convenient for them to just stay in illinois or at least near the city limits? 🤷‍♂️ also, what's with the $2 billion bill? can't they just make do with a little less luxury and expense?

🤔 I think it's crazy that they're considering two spots in Indiana. Like, what's next? They'll be playing in Wisconsin too? But seriously, both options have pros and cons. On one hand, having a stadium in Northwest Indiana would make more sense for fans who want to avoid traffic on the Dan Ryan Expressway (I'm not a fan of that road). On the other hand, I'd rather see them go with the old Michael Reese Hospital site in Bronzeville – it's like a blank canvas waiting for some major renovations. Plus, it's right on Lake Michigan, which would be sick! 🌊 But at the end of the day, as long as they build a stadium that puts fans first and has all the bells and whistles, I'm good. 💯

omg i think its crazy how the bears are considering multiple locations 🤯 like northwest indiana makes total sense tho idk why they need 15000 parking spots tho 🚗👀 also sounds like a really cool area for a stadium with all that tailgating space and being surrounded by a neighborhood destination 🎉 maybe ill have to check out the wolf lake site if they end up choosing it there

I'm wondering if we're prioritizing progress over preservation here? The old Michael Reese Hospital site in Bronzeville has a lot of character and could be a really unique space for a stadium. I mean, can't we find ways to revitalize neglected areas without sacrificing our cultural heritage? And what's the real cost of investing in Northwest Indiana vs. supporting local communities? Is it just about getting a new stadium or is there something more at play here?

And have we ever stopped to think about the kind of neighborhood that would really thrive around a sports stadium? Would it be some generic, cookie-cutter development or an opportunity for real community engagement and growth? I'm not sure what's going on with this survey, but I hope fans are being honest about what they want and not just looking at the bottom line.

I'm kinda confused about this whole stadium situation... I mean, I know the old Soldier Field was getting a bit outdated 🤔. But now they're thinking of moving it to Indiana? Like, what's wrong with Chicago 🙅‍♂️? I've seen so many stadiums come and go in the city over the years - it's like we can't even keep one for our own team anymore 😔.

And now they're looking at these two new spots in Indiana... Wolf Lake or that old hospital site in Bronzeville. I guess it's cool that they want to revitalize some areas, but isn't that what Chicago is all about? 🌆

I'm not sure if I love the idea of a super modern stadium with tons of parking and tailgating spots 💪... it sounds kinda corporate 😒. But hey, at least they're trying to engage with their fans and get feedback 🤗.

What's your take on this? Are you a Bears fan or just thinking about making the jump across state lines? 🏈

omg u guys!! 🤯 so like i was reading this article about the chicago bears & they r thinking of movin to indiana lol can u even imagine a bears game in hammond? 😂 but seriously tho, arlington heights is out & now it's gonna be between wolf lake or bronzeville... idk wut 2 think tbh, i mean the bear stadium wud b so lit w/ that lakefront location 🌊 but like $2 billion sounds crazy pricey 🤑 & u can't deny the benefits of a new stadium tho 🏈👍

🤔 I think it's kinda weird that they're considering Indiana options now 🤷‍♂️. Can't they just upgrade Soldier Field instead? It's not like they're breaking any rules or anything 🚫. A new stadium in Northwest Indy would be a huge undertaking, and I don't know if it's worth the headache 😩. What do you guys think? Should the Bears try to make their current spot work? Or is it time for a change of scenery? 💬

🤔 I'm thinking, like a stadium with 15k parking spots and all that fancy tailgating setup would be super popular among Bears fans 🏈💨 But on the other hand, Arlington Heights is still in the mix and it's like, way closer to Chicago compared to Indiana 📍 Illinois lawmakers are being kinda meh about supporting this project though, which might put a damper on things 💸 The governor says they gotta pay for it themselves but maybe there's overlap with existing infrastructure plans? 🤔 Meanwhile, Toni Preckwinkle is pushing for Bronzeville - I guess that would be a cool way to revitalize the area and bring in some new revenue streams 🌆 What do you guys think? Should the Bears go with Indiana or stick it out in Chicago? 🏈💬 Stats show that 75% of fans prefer an urban location, while 55% say parking capacity is key - what's your take? 🤔

Ugh, another stadium move from the Bears 🙄... I mean, can't they just stick with Soldier Field? The thought of a 15k parking space for each game is already giving me a headache, and don't even get me started on the cost - $2 billion?! That's crazy talk 💸. And what's with all these options in Northwest Indiana? It feels like they're trying to spread themselves too thin. I'm just hoping they can find a location that won't be a huge burden on fans, you know, like having to take a bus ride to every game 🚌. Let's hope Governor Pritzker is right and the team doesn't end up footing all the bill... but still, it's gonna be a while before I'm convinced this whole thing will work out 🤔.

I don’t usually comment but... I think it's weird that they're considering two Indiana locations when they already have a stadium in Illinois 😐. I mean, I get that they want to stay in Northwest Indiana, but can't they just put the new stadium in Arlington Heights like they originally planned? 🤔 It seems like there's always something going on with their plans and it's kinda frustrating for fans who just want to know what's gonna happen next 👀. On the other hand, I do love the idea of revamping that old Michael Reese Hospital site in Bronzeville - it could be a really cool spot for the new stadium 🏢🌆.

Umm i think its crazy how they're considering Indiana options 🤯 if i was a season ticket holder im all about the lakefront location in Bronzeville, it would be sick for the community and the bears brand, plus its already got that hospital site just waiting to be renovated. Illinois is trying to play it cool but its clear they dont have the resources to make this stadium happen 🤑. Northwest Indiana has some decent options tho, wolf lake and hard rock casino could work but id love to see more investment in Bronzeville 🌊
