Annual MLK Day luncheon in San Jose celebrates icon’s legacy

omg u guys i just got back from this amazing mlk day luncheon in san jose 🤩 it was so inspiring to hear sean the science kid talk about how science can be a powerful tool for truth-telling & shedding light on deeper meaning 🧬💡 and i loved angela rye's keynote address too - she totally called out those who try to erase history 😒 but what really got me was when u.s reps sam liccardo & zoe lofgren spoke about the significance of dr king's legacy & its relevance to contemporary issues 🙌 we need more people like them advocating for justice, dignity, and opportunity for all! 👏
 
🤓 I'm loving how this 11-year-old science whiz kid is taking center stage in conversations about social justice 🌎💡 It's a great reminder that young minds are full of ideas and energy, just waiting to be tapped into 🔥 They're not just the future leaders we've been preparing for, they're already making their mark 📚 I'm also intrigued by Angela Rye's keynote address - it's about time we started having these tough conversations about erasing history and distorting messages 🤯 The fact that elected officials were in attendance shows us that there's still a lot of work to be done 💼

Ugh, can we talk about how cringeworthy the audience is? I mean, over 550 people showing up for a free event and expecting to just chill all day while someone talks about Dr. King's legacy? It's like they're trying to prove something 😒. And don't even get me started on the awkward small talk between the politicians - it's like they were reading from a script or something 🤣. But hey, at least young Sean Atitsogbe brought some energy and insight to the table. Maybe next year can we just have a meetup group instead of an actual event? ⏰
 
omg i totally agree with Angela Rye's speech 🤯 she was so right about erasing history 😔 i mean, we can't just forget where we came from and expect to create a better future 👀 sean the science kid tho is a total inspiration 🎉 his energy is infectious and he's got some amazing ideas 💡 but what really stood out to me was how much diversity was represented at this event 🌈 i mean, it wasn't just black people or leaders in positions of power – there were so many others from different backgrounds who are making a difference too 🤝 we need more events like this to bring everyone together and celebrate our shared humanity ❤️
