Apple is reportedly overhauling Siri to be an AI chatbot

Apple is reportedly embarking on a significant overhaul of its long-standing voice assistant, Siri, in a bid to transform it into an advanced AI chatbot dubbed Campos.

According to sources cited by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple plans to ditch the current Siri interface altogether and instead opt for a more interactive model reminiscent of popular chatbots from OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini. This new approach will enable deeper software integrations, which are expected to be rolled out as part of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 later this year.

While there won't be a standalone Campos app for customers, the company does intend to release updates for the current Siri iteration in iOS 26.4, which will include some much-needed features that Apple first promised back in 2024.

Apple's pivot towards an AI chatbot marks a significant shift in its approach to artificial intelligence, with the company acknowledging that it has been trailing its competitors in this area. By collaborating with Google and leveraging Gemini models, Apple is seeking to close the gap and provide a more comprehensive AI experience for its users.

However, it appears that Apple's efforts may not be limited to just Siri, as reports suggest that a wearable AI pin could be released as early as 2027. While details are still scarce, this new development suggests that Apple is committed to exploring innovative ways to integrate its AI capabilities across different platforms and devices.

I'm low-key excited about this new direction for Siri πŸ€–! Ditching the old interface altogether makes total sense - I mean, who uses a voice assistant that's just a bunch of buttons and menus? It's time for something more interactive and immersive. I've been using ChatGPT and Gemini, and it's amazing how much more human-like those chatbots feel πŸ€”. Apple's pivot towards AI is long overdue, but it's great to see them finally taking action. And a wearable AI pin sounds like a game-changer - can you imagine being able to control your smart home with just a thought? πŸ πŸ’‘

But I do hope they're careful not to mess up the updates for iOS 26.4. We need those features ASAP! It's also weird that there won't be a standalone Campos app, but I guess that's what iOS and iPadOS updates are for πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. Apple's definitely playing catch-up in the AI game, but it'll be interesting to see how this all unfolds. Bring on 2027 and that wearable AI pin! πŸ‘€

so annoying πŸ™„, I just learned that my iPhone's Siri won't even get a major update until next year?! what's the point of calling it Campos if it's still gonna be released in 2027? and why can't they just give us a standalone app for this new chatbot thingy instead of just adding some half-baked features to the old one? πŸ˜’

omg u guys, apple is makin a major change 2 its siri voice assistant 🀯 it's goin 2 be more like those cool chatbots from chatgpt & gemini πŸ€– i think dis is a good move, cuz we need better integration w/ our devices, like w/ my ipad & mac πŸ“±πŸ’»

i'm lowkey hyped 4 the siri updates in ios 26.4, tho 😊 i've been waitin 4 some kinda makeover 2 its interface. but i gotta wonder if the new Campos app is goin 2 be available 4 us peeps or just 4 apple devs πŸ€”

anywayz, i'm glad apple is takin AI seriously, cuz it's def a gap they need 2 close πŸš€ can't wait 2 c how dis all plays out!

Omg, I can imagine how frustrating it must feel to have Siri just not gettin' you what you need πŸ˜©πŸ’». I'm sure there are so many times when Apple's users are like "seriously, Siri, why can't you understand that?" πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. But from what I've read, it sounds like they're really tryin' to step up their AI game with Campos πŸ’‘. And the fact that they're collaboratin' with Google and other companies is a great move! It's like they're sayin', "hey, we know we haven't been doin' so great in this area, but we're gonna change that πŸ”„". I'm excited to see what they come up with, especially since it sounds like it'll be a big upgrade πŸ’₯. Fingers crossed for all the Siri users out there! πŸ‘

I'm low-key hyped about Apple's plans for Campos! πŸ€– They're finally catching up with the AI game and it's about time. I mean, Siri's been around for ages now, it's about time they give it a major overhaul. And I love that they're not just stopping at making Siri more interactive, but also integrating their AI capabilities across different devices and platforms. It's like they want to make AI an integral part of the Apple ecosystem.

I'm also curious to see how this all plays out with iOS 27 and macOS 27 dropping later this year. Will it be a seamless experience for users or are there going to be some growing pains? And what about those wearable AI pins?! Are we really gonna have to wait till 2027 for that to drop? Let's keep an eye on this!

I'm thinking... Apple's gonna try to catch up with the chatbot game πŸ€–πŸ’». It's about time, tbh. Their Siri has been stuck in a rut for ages. I mean, who hasn't gotten tired of the same old voice assistant? At least they're trying, right? The new Campos AI thing sounds like it could be pretty cool - maybe they'll even make it more fun to use than those boring Google Assistant and Alexa bots πŸ€”.

But, you know, this might also mean we're gonna see a whole lot more personalized ads and data collection from Apple. That's the dark side of tech advancements πŸ’ΈπŸ˜’. Still, I'm curious to see how this all plays out. Maybe Campos will be the game-changer they need to stay ahead of the competition 🀞.

Oh, and a wearable AI pin? Whoa 😲 that sounds like sci-fi stuff right now! But hey, if it means we get more seamless integration with our gadgets, I'm down πŸ‘. Bring on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 - can't wait to see what's new πŸŽ‰.
