Apple's Live Translation feature is finally coming to AirPods in the EU

Apple has finally confirmed that its AI-powered Live Translation feature is set to launch in the European Union next month, following months of anticipation and a warning from the company about potential delays due to regulatory compliance.

The highly anticipated feature, which was showcased as a key selling point for Apple's latest AirPods Pro 3 model, will allow users to seamlessly translate conversations between multiple languages. When released, Live Translation will enable users to automatically translate spoken language in real-time, with support for English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional Mandarin), Japanese, and Korean.

However, the company's initial plans were put on hold when it issued a warning in September that complying with the EU's Digital Markets Act could delay the feature. Apple cited "additional engineering" as a reason for the delay, stating its intention to ensure that translated conversations remained private and secure from other companies or developers.

Despite the setbacks, Live Translation is set to become available on AirPods Pro 3, Pro 2, and AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) next month. For those eager to test the feature before its official release, users can already try it out on supported AirPods in the EU using an iOS 26.2 developer beta update.

While Apple's announcement marks a significant milestone for the company, fans of Live Translation are likely to be relieved that their patience will soon pay off. As praised by Engadget reviewers, Live Translation offers an impressive and practical addition to Apple's wireless earbuds, and its release is expected to bring new levels of convenience and accessibility to language translation.

can u believe it took apple this long 2 get live translation right ๐Ÿ™„! i mean, i'm stoked 4 them, but what were they doing in the eu all that time? probably sipping coffee & complaining about regulators โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ‘€ anyway, finally! we can all be like "oh yeah, i was trying to understand ur french accent, not just pretending ๐Ÿคฃ" it's gonna change the game 4 travel, work & everyday convo, and i'm here for it ๐Ÿ‘

OMG u guys! ๐Ÿคฉ I'm super hyped for this new feature on AirPods Pro 3! Can you imagine being able to travel or communicate with friends from different countries without struggling with language barriers? It's like, totally life changing ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’ป. And the fact that it's finally going live in the EU next month is awesome news ๐Ÿ’ก. I know some ppl were worried about the delay and regulatory stuff, but it sounds like Apple was just making sure everything was secure and private ๐Ÿ‘. Now we get to enjoy seamless translation and improved accessibility for all! ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ‘ Can't wait to try it out myself ๐Ÿ˜

I'm so hyped for this feature! You know what really got me thinking, though? How our expectations can sometimes get in the way. I mean, we were all super stoked for Live Translation's launch, but did we ever stop to think that there might've been a reason why it was delayed?

It's like when we're waiting for something big to happen โ€“ excitement is great, but sometimes patience is key. Think about it: those extra few months of anticipation could've actually helped Apple refine the feature and make sure it's ready for prime time.

And let's not forget, regulation is what keeps us safe! The EU's Digital Markets Act might seem like a buzzkill at first, but trust me, it's all about protecting user data. It's like when we have to wait in line โ€“ sometimes that's just part of the process.

So, when Live Translation finally drops, let's take a deep breath and appreciate the journey, not just the destination ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’ป

I'm so stoked they're finally getting this out ๐Ÿคฉ! I mean, can you imagine being able to have a conversation with someone in another country without having to use those clunky translation apps? It's like, the ultimate game-changer for travelers and expats alike ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ. And I love how Apple is prioritizing security and privacy โ€“ that's just common sense, right? ๐Ÿ˜Š

I remember back in my day, we had to rely on those awkward phrasebooks or ask our travel buddies to translate for us... it was always a hassle! ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ But this Live Translation feature is like, the future of communication ๐ŸŒŸ. Can't wait to try it out and see how seamless it works in real-life conversations ๐Ÿ‘‚.

omg ๐Ÿคฉ i've been waiting for this since last year! finally something to make my life easier when traveling abroad ๐Ÿ’ป the fact that they had to add an extra layer of security is understandable tho ๐Ÿ™, can't have our pvt info compromised ๐Ÿ˜ฌ but im glad its happening next month ๐Ÿ“† and yeah, supporting multiple languages will be a game changer for non english speakers ๐Ÿ‘

oh man, AI-powered Live Translation? sounds like something straight outta a spy movie ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ! can u imagine trying to translate conversations in a coffee shop while ordering your latte... 'i'll have the cappuccino, s'il vous plaรฎt'? ๐Ÿ˜‚ anyway, its cool that Apple's finally getting it right and bringing this tech to the EU. gotta love how convenient it is gonna be for language learners and tourists alike ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ!

I'm so stoked they're finally bringing out this feature! I've had my AirPods Pro 2 for ages now, but no Live Translation yet... it's like, what's the point if you can't even understand your mate when you're on holiday? ๐Ÿคฃ But seriously, I think this is a game-changer. It'll make traveling so much easier and more enjoyable. And Apple's being super responsible about keeping things private and secure - that's music to my ears! ๐Ÿ˜Š Can't wait to try it out next month... been waiting for what feels like forever! ๐Ÿ‘

I'm hyped about this finally happening! The EU Digital Markets Act was a bummer for sure, but Apple did what they had to do to get it right. I mean, who wants their conversations being spied on by some other company? It's about time we see more secure translation features like this.

I've been waiting for this feature to come out on my AirPods Pro 3 and now that it is, I'm so down! It's gonna be a game changer, especially for when traveling or working with people who speak different languages. Can't wait to try it out on my friends in France ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท

I'm glad Apple's finally confirming the launch date for Live Translation in the EU ๐Ÿ™Œ. I was starting to think they were going to leave us hanging with that "additional engineering" excuse ๐Ÿ˜‚. Honestly, it makes sense that they needed to tweak the feature to ensure it's private and secure โ€“ I mean, can you imagine hackers using this feature to eavesdrop on conversations? ๐Ÿคฏ Not cool.

But seriously, I'm excited about the release! Having Live Translation on AirPods Pro 3, Pro 2, and AirPods 4 will be a game-changer for language learners and travelers. And kudos to Apple for making it available in so many languages โ€“ it's going to be super convenient for people who need to communicate across borders ๐ŸŒŽ.

I just hope they continue to update the feature with new languages and features... I mean, why stop at 10 languages? ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿคฉ so finally! apple is getting its live translation feature out the door ๐Ÿšช it was such a long wait for this thing! i'm hyped that it's gonna be available on all those airpod models ๐ŸŽง i mean, who doesn't want to just understand what someone else is saying without having to struggle with language barriers? ๐Ÿ’ฌ and yeah, apple did have some issues with complying with the eu regulations, but i guess they got everything sorted out now ๐Ÿ‘ can't wait to try it out on my airpods pro 3! ๐ŸŽง๐Ÿ˜„

I'm so hyped about this finally happening ๐Ÿคฉ! I know some people were worried that it was gonna be delayed forever, but Apple kept saying they just needed more time to get it right, and now it's finally gonna launch next month ๐ŸŽ‰! The thought of being able to have a real conversation with someone who speaks a different language without having to struggle with translation is literally a game changer for me ๐Ÿ˜‚. I mean, can you imagine trying to order food at a restaurant in France or Japan without being able to understand what's going on? ๐Ÿด๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต It's crazy how something like this could make such a huge difference in our daily lives. I'm definitely getting those new AirPods Pro 3 just for the Live Translation feature alone ๐Ÿ˜†!
