Artists decry dismantling of Belgium's oldest contemporary art museum

Wow! 🤯 8,000 artworks being relocated from one place to another? That's just crazy talk! Interesting how some ppl are already thinking about where they'll end up and if it'll affect their value 😂 I'm just wondering if this is gonna be a major overhaul of the art world in Belgium or just a cost-cutting measure.

omg u guys!! 🤯 this is so crazy! they cant just destroy a museum thats been around 4eva!!! what about all the history and culture theyre gonna lose?! its like theyre trying to erase belgiums artistic identity lol i mean, whats next? 🤔 theyre cutting public spending but theyre not even thinking about the future of art in belgium. and luc tuymans said it was insane 🙅‍♂️ what does that even say about their plans?! its all about saving euros but what about the museums legacy?! 💸 i get they gotta cut costs but this is just wrong 🚫

🤯 8k artworks at risk 🌪️ did you know 60% of museums in EU have a budget deficit above 3%? average museum spend €4m per annum 📊 last year 75% of art sales were online 🚀 with that trend, maybe relocation is just smart business move 💸 but for the arts community it's personal loss of cultural heritage ❤️ mka has been hub for avant-garde since 1988 🎉 1 in 5 artworks sold at auction go to museums 🏦 btw did you know most museum attendees are over 50? 🤔
