Bears QB Caleb Williams’ bid to ‘create history’ starts now, and the 1985 Super Bowl team is rooting for him

Caleb Williams' journey to create history with the Chicago Bears is about to get underway, and the legendary 1985 Super Bowl-winning squad is rooting for him.

Williams had set his sights on "creating history" when he first spoke about the Bears months before they drafted him. He was well aware of their storied past, from the iconic '85 championship team to their recent struggles, and recognized that his arrival would come with immense pressure to restore the franchise's glory.

However, Williams wasn't intimidated by the weight of expectation. He had a clear mindset, which he believes is crucial for success in Chicago. "It's the start of it," he said, hinting at the significance of this game. "Part of it was me getting here and having that mindset throughout, and then getting to this point."

As the Bears seek their first playoff victory in 15 years and push towards the Super Bowl, they're being fueled by a renewed sense of purpose under coach Ben Johnson. The new regime has sparked a resurgence in the team's fortunes, with Williams excelling in decisive moments and the players responding well to Johnson's bold approach.

The legends of the franchise are excited to see what the young Bears have to offer. Mike Singletary, a Hall of Fame linebacker from the '85 team, said: "I love the '85 Bears, but it is history. I would be so excited to see these young Bears begin to write a new chapter."

The current team's prospects are being compared to those of the 1984 squad, which went 10-6 and made it to the NFC Championship Game. Dan Hampton, another Hall of Fame defensive lineman from the '85 team, believes that Williams has huge upside and is "going to be everything and more."

While there's still room for growth in the Bears' defense, which has been vulnerable this season, Hampton acknowledges the young quarterback's leadership qualities. He needs to see more progress from his teammates, but the potential reward is enormous.

Ultimately, it's time for a new chapter in Chicago football history. The 1985 team may be an iconic part of the franchise's legacy, but their place in the record books won't last forever. As Hampton said: "It's hard to believe they've gotten this far without being able to rush the passer."

The Bears have craved that kind of consistency and championship contender status for years. Now, it's up to Williams and his teammates to deliver on their promise. Can they rise to the challenge?

I'M SO EXCITED TO SEE CALEB WILLIAMS IN ACTION!!!! 🤩 he's got the skills and the passion to lead this team to greatness! I mean, the '85 squad is rooting for him and that's a huge seal of approval in my book 😊. Ben Johnson's coaching style has brought out the best in the team so far and Williams is thriving under all the pressure 💪. The comparisons to the '84 squad are on point - they've got the potential to be just as dominant! 🏆 Of course, there's still room for growth but I'm confident that Williams will lead them to victory 🔥

You know I'm hyped for Caleb Williams 🤩! He's got this fire in him that reminds me of when I was a kid playing football with my friends. We'd stay up all night watching old game tapes and trying to perfect our skills. It's like he's been training his whole life for this moment 😅.

But seriously, it's cool to see the legends from the '85 team supporting him. They must be seeing some of themselves in Williams' determination and passion for winning. I'm rooting for him all the way 🏈💪. If anyone can bring that championship mentality back to Chicago, it's Caleb Williams!

idk why people keep saying we need a "new chapter" in chicago football history like it's not been done before lol 🙄 Caleb willines is prob gonna be awesome tho, def deserves the hype after all the expectations he's taken on. but gotta wonder if ben johnson knows what hes doing 😒 either way cant wait to see the young bears shine, maybe we'll finally see some consistency from the defense 🤞

I'm loving the vibe around Caleb Williams right now! As a parent, I can totally relate to having high hopes for your kid's future, only to have them face immense pressure and expectation. But you know what? It's exactly this kind of mindset that will drive him to create history with the Chicago Bears 🏈💪. Coach Ben Johnson seems like a great influence, keeping the team focused on their goals.

I'm curious to see how Williams navigates the pressure, especially given the weight of his new teammates' expectations. Will he rise to the challenge and lead the Bears to victory? As a parent, it's hard not to get invested in your kid's success (and I'm sure many Chicago fans are doing just that right now 😅). Can't wait to see what this season brings! 🎉

I think its kinda cool how people r comparing Caleb Williams 2 the '85 squad lol 🤔🏈 like he got big shoes 2 fill but I think hes gonna do just fine 👍 he seems pretty focused & determined which is def important 4 success in Chicago. I also love how Mike Singletary & Dan Hampton are giving him props 4 his leadership qualities, those guys know a thing or two about winning championships 🏆

🤔 the 85 squad is hyping up caleb williams like he's gonna lead them straight to the super bowl 🏈💪 but what about all those years of struggles after that championship win? the franchise has been stuck in a rut for so long, it's hard to see how williams can change that overnight ⏱️ still got faith in him tho 👍
