. I mean, what's up with toning down the darker undertones of the original story? That's what made it so classic in the first place! By making it all sappy and family-friendly, they're basically watering it down. And don't even get me started on the cast - Tyler Collins' comedy skills are one thing, but can he really carry a play that's supposed to be both funny AND scary at the same time? I think not 
. And what's with the set design? Shifting staircases and mysterious passageways sound super cool in theory, but in practice it just looks like a bunch of fancy decorations to me 
. Overall, I'm still gonna have to give this one a hard pass
