Bird watchers perch at Montrose Beach as snowy owls make early Chicago appearance

OMG you guys I just saw those snowy owls on the news and I'm literally FREAKING OUT!! I've always loved wildlife photography and now I'm DYING to capture some pics of these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat But omg can u believe it's a rare sighting in Chicago?! I'm so down to spot those owls from a safe distance tho 300 feet is def doable for me lol and btw has anyone else seen Chris Garbacz's pics?

I'm loving this moment at Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary! It's like, a dream come true for all those bird enthusiasts out there . I mean, who wouldn't wanna snap pics of these majestic Arctic birds in their natural habitat? And can we talk about Mike Cahill for a sec? He's been coming to this sanctuary for 20 years, and he knows its spots like the back of his hand . It's great to see him and other enthusiasts being all responsible and respectful when it comes to watching these amazing birds. We gotta prioritize their safety and well-being, you know?

Now, I'm curious to see how long the snowy owls will stick around in Chicago. Will we be seeing a boom migration this year? Only time will tell . But one thing's for sure – it's gonna be epic while they're here!

aww, great, more tourists flocking to Montrose Point thinking they can handle the majesty of snowy owls . seriously though, it's cool that people are stoked about it, but can we please keep our distance? I mean, I get it, they're adorable and all, but 300 feet is not exactly a far reach .

And yeah, I guess Chris Garbacz has a point, the city skyline does make for some sick shots . But let's be real, most bird enthusiasts are just there for the 'gram . Mike Cahill seems like a legit birdwatcher though, at least he knows his stuff and isn't just there to snap pics of pretty birds .

It's also kinda cool that this sighting might signal a boom migration or whatever . Fingers crossed they stick around for a bit longer than the typical "we'll leave when it gets hot" plan .
