Brooklyn man sentenced to life for killing acquaintance, stashing body in the fridge

Local Man Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Brutal Murder of Acquaintance, Hiding Body in Home Fridge for Years

A Brooklyn judge has handed down a life sentence without parole to Nicholas McGee, 48, for brutally murdering his acquaintance Kawsheen Gelzer, 39. The gruesome crime took place in March 2022 when McGee allegedly stabbed Gelzer over 60 times while he slept on a sofa. In addition to the stabbing, McGee also hit Gelzer repeatedly in the head with a hammer.

Following the murder, McGee dragged Gelzer's dismembered body to the bathroom where it remained for several days before being dismembered further using a saw and hammer. The victim's remains were then placed in plastic bags and hidden inside McGee's refrigerator and freezer, which he sealed shut with tape and glue.

The discovery of Gelzer's body was not made until over two years after his murder when police searched the premises following a tip in January last year. During their investigation, police found additional evidence linking McGee to the crime, including drugs discovered in Gelzer's pockets that were later used alongside codefendant and wife Heather Stines.

Stines, 48, had previously pleaded guilty to concealment of a human corpse and bail jumping, but is still awaiting sentencing. Prosecutors described McGee's actions as "deeply disturbing" and a testament to his "cruelty and disregard for human life."

McGee's confession, which was obtained in exchange for a cigarette, provided details of the heinous crime. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez condemned the act, stating that it was "almost beyond comprehension."

Ugh, can you believe this guy? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ 48 years old and still thinking it's okay to hide human remains in your fridge ๐Ÿคข like they're leftovers from last night's pizza! I mean, what's next? Putting a dead body on the dinner table? ๐Ÿด It's absolutely sickening. And the fact that he dragged Kawsheen Gelzer around like she was a piece of trash and then stabbed her 60+ times... ๐Ÿ˜ฑ it's just too much to handle.

I think the judge made the right call, though. Life without parole is definitely deserved for this guy. He needs to rot in prison for what he did to Kawsheen and her family. And can we please talk about how his wife was involved? Concealing human remains and bail jumping? That's some serious accomplice behavior there! ๐Ÿ’”

Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts on this crazy case. It's just another reminder that some people are truly evil and need to be held accountable for their actions ๐Ÿ˜ก.

Ugh ๐Ÿคฏ, can't believe this is still happening on our platforms ๐Ÿ“ฑ. A life sentence? Really? ๐Ÿค” It's like they just ticked a box without really thinking about the impact on his mental health or lack thereof ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. I mean, what kind of person hides a dead body in their fridge for years? ๐Ÿšฎ It's not like it was a safe space for it or something... more like a weird trophy case ๐Ÿ’€.

And don't even get me started on the wife being involved - that just adds another layer of complexity to the whole situation ๐Ÿคฏ. I guess you could say they were in this together, but at least she had the decency to plead guilty and face consequences ๐Ÿ™. The real question is, how did we not see these warning signs? Was it just a case of him being super manipulative and controlling? ๐Ÿค” Either way, this whole thing is just really disturbing ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

Also, can we talk about the investigation for a sec? 2 years after the murder? That's like, basic detective work ๐Ÿ’ก. How did they even get to that point without finding Gelzer's body sooner? It's like they were sleepwalking through the case ๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ. Anyways, I guess justice has been served (somewhat), but it just feels kinda... unsatisfying ๐Ÿ˜.

This case is like something straight outta a Republican politician's worst nightmare - they're gonna talk about life sentences and punishment, but nobody ever talks about rehabilitation, right? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, what if McGee had gotten some help before he snapped? What if we're just warehousing people instead of fixing the system that made him this way?

And let's be real, the fact that his wife was involved and pleaded guilty to a lesser charge is like, why not throw the book at her too? It's all about accountability... or is it just more politics as usual? ๐Ÿค” The DA says McGee's actions are "deeply disturbing," but where were we when he was planning this in the first place? We need to be talking about mental health services and community programs, not just punishment.

I don't get why this dude got life imprisonment ๐Ÿค”... like, yeah, what he did is super nasty ๐Ÿ˜ท, but hiding body in fridge for years? That's just insane ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. I mean, if I saw something like that on a true crime show or something, I'd be all "that's messed up" ๐Ÿ‘Ž... but the reality of it is, this guy actually went through with it, and someone else died because of it ๐Ÿ’”. Don't get me wrong, he should've gotten time for that ๐Ÿ˜ค, but life without parole? It feels a bit extreme to me ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

I'm shocked ๐Ÿ˜ฑ by the sheer brutality of this crime. A man hides his victim's body in his fridge for years?! ๐Ÿคข That's just insane. I don't think I'll ever be able to look at a fridge the same way again. The fact that McGee took so much time to dispose of the body and hide it away like it was nothing is just sickening. And to think he had the nerve to play dumb with police for over two years before they finally discovered the truth. It's almost as if he thought he could get away with murder! ๐Ÿšซ The judge's decision to sentence him to life without parole is well-deserved, in my opinion. Justice has been served, but I have a hard time feeling any sense of closure knowing that this monster was able to commit such an atrocity. ๐Ÿ˜”

I'm still trying to process this one ๐Ÿคฏ... I mean, can you even believe someone would do something like that? The dude dragged his friend's body around for TWO YEARS and hid it in a fridge ๐Ÿšฎ๐Ÿ‘ป. It's just... who does that?! And the fact that he confessed over a cigarette is wild ๐Ÿ’ฃ. I feel bad for Kawsheen's family, they must be going through hell right now ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. The judge's sentence of life without parole seems fitting though โš–๏ธ. It's crazy to think about how much evidence McGee hid and Stines still got off relatively scot-free ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Anyway, it just goes to show that some people are beyond human decency ๐Ÿ˜ž.

๐Ÿ˜ฑ I just can't even wrap my head around this case... a whole 2 years after the murder, people were still searching for clues? Like, what kind of state of mind leads someone to hide human remains in their fridge?! ๐Ÿคฏ It's not just the act itself that's so heinous, it's the level of planning and control that went into concealing it. And can you imagine living with that guilt and knowing you're hiding something so dark? It's like a nightmare come true... anyway, life sentence without parole is definitely the right verdict - 48 years behind bars should give him some time to reflect on his actions ๐Ÿ™

omg this is so sickening ๐Ÿคฏ he literally hid the body in his fridge like it was nothing ๐Ÿ˜‚ and then expected to get away with it for 2 whole years?! what's wrong with people these days? anyway i think life im prison is kinda fitting for someone who's shown such zero remorse for his actions... it's a shame the victim got to spend all that time in the dark, poor gelzer ๐Ÿ’”

This is just crazy what this dude did to Kawsheen Gelzer ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, hiding the body in the fridge for years? That's like something out of a horror movie. And the way he brutalized her before putting her in there? Unbelievable ๐Ÿ’”. I feel so sorry for her family and friends who had to go through all this trauma. It's just heartbreaking that someone could be so cruel to another human being. The sentence is definitely fitting, but it's also a reminder that some crimes are just too heinous for parole ๐Ÿšซ. And what about Stines? She was in on it with her husband? That's just sick ๐Ÿ˜’. Anyways, justice has been served and I hope Gelzer's family can finally find some peace ๐Ÿ™

Wow ๐Ÿ˜ฒ this is just insane, hiding the body in the fridge like that?! how did you even come up with such a twisted plan? and 48 years old, that's like really old to be committing something so heinous... interesting ๐Ÿคฏ

omg what is wrong with people lol 48 years old brutally stabbing someone over 60 times and then hiding their body in the fridge like its no big deal? how can you even hide a body in a freezer? didnt he think about all those plastic bags and tape that would be super hard to get out of?! i mean i know he confessed and all but still, so much violence and pain caused to Kawsheen Gelzer. i feel bad for her family and friends who have to deal with this. and what about the dude who helped him by being his wife? how could she do that? its like they were both in on it together. anyway, life sentence without parole is a good start but im not sure if its enough considering the severity of the crime

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one... 48 years old, stabbed his friend over 60 times and hid the body in the fridge for YEARS?! Like, what's going on with our society? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ This whole thing is just so messed up. I mean, the dude's got some serious issues, but life without parole seems like a fitting sentence to me. I'm also really confused about why his wife was involved, like, how did she get dragged into this? ๐Ÿค” Still trying to process everything...

๐Ÿคฏ I'm still trying to wrap my head around this case. A guy hides his friend's body in the fridge for years?! It's just...how messed up is that? ๐Ÿšฝ I mean, I've heard of weird places to stash bodies, but a home fridge is just crazy. And the fact that he sealed it up with tape and glue like it was a science experiment gone wrong...shudders. ๐Ÿ˜ท The whole thing is just so disturbing.

But what's even more messed up is how this dude managed to live his life without being caught for so long. I guess you could say he was pretty clever about hiding the evidence, but at the same time, it's just a testament to how messed up his head must've been to do something like that in the first place.

Life sentences are definitely warranted in cases like this, but you can't help but wonder if there's anything more that could've been done to prevent it. Was McGee just always a crazy person, or was he pushed over the edge by some traumatic event? The more I think about it, the more questions I have... ๐Ÿค”

omg did u know some ppl r so crazy ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ˜ฑ i mean i dont condone violence at all but like what's wrong with people?? anyway back to mcgee he hid the body in his fridge for years ๐Ÿคฏ who needs a freezer when u got a fridge right?? idk wot's gonna happen 2 him now, life imprisonment is harsh enough but at least its better than the death penalty ๐Ÿ’”

OMG did u no that I just tried to make my own vegan ice cream last nite and it was SOOO bad ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, I followed the recipe to the letter, but I think I added like 3x too much salt ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ. Now it tastes like someone poured a bucket of seawater in my freezer ๐Ÿ’ง. Anywayz back to this guy McGee... life sentence is harsh IMO ๐Ÿ˜. I mean, what's the point of locking him up forever? Can't we just give him some therapy or counseling or somethin' ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ?

Ugh, this whole thing is just so messed up ๐Ÿ’”. I mean, hiding someone's body in the fridge for years? Like, what even is that? It's like something out of a horror movie. And 60+ stab wounds? That's just insane. The fact that he dragged her body to the bathroom and then dismembered it further? No joke ๐Ÿคฏ.

And can we talk about how messed up his wife is for not speaking up sooner? I mean, she knew something was off but she just went along with it. She even helped him dispose of evidence by giving him codefendant Stines' drugs. Gross ๐Ÿ˜ท.

The fact that he got a life sentence without parole is good news, I guess. But the real question is, what kind of monster does this? Someone who can do something so horrific and still manage to get away with it for over 2 years? It's just not right ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ.

Anyway, at least justice was served eventually. Now let's hope his sentence is strict and he spends the rest of his life behind bars where he can't hurt anyone else ๐Ÿšซ.
