Cam’ron Elaborates on Why He’s Suing J. Cole: ‘Being a Man Is Keeping Your Word’

Cam'ron Opens Up on Lawsuit Against J. Cole, Reveals Why He's Suing: 'Being a Man Is Keeping Your Word'

In an exclusive interview with Flee, Harlem rapper Cam'ron recently elaborated on why he decided to file a lawsuit against fellow rapper J. Cole over their "Ready '24" collaboration. The lawsuit is not about the music itself, but rather about a series of broken promises and failed commitments.

Cam explained that his initial intention was not to sue, but rather to get J. Cole's attention. He claimed that when Cole asked for a feature or an interview on one of his talk shows, Cam delivered in a timely manner. On his album "The Off-Season," Cam did an intro for Cole within 24 hours, and even offered to provide a verse whenever he got a project done.

However, when it came time to fulfill the promised verse, Cole reportedly gave Cam the runaround once again. Despite initially agreeing to do an interview in February, Cole delayed several times, citing various reasons such as his busy schedule and a Kendrick Lamar-Drake battle that didn't want to be discussed without a new project out.

Cam felt betrayed by Cole's repeated broken promises, stating, "I said, 'Look, I'll do the interview. I won't even bring up [the beef].' He says, 'Nah, I can't do no interview and not talk about it.' 'Alright, well, when can I get the interview?' 'Yo, February definite. February, I'm dead ass on February.'" When the day of their promised interview came around, Cole claimed that he was still working on his album, "The Fall-Off," which is set to drop on Friday, Feb. 6.

Cam'ron emphasized that being a man means keeping your word, adding, "I know everybody's busy and has things to do and so on and so forth. But if I give you my word four or five times, I gotta do it one time out of the four or five times." The lawsuit is seen as a way for Cam to hold Cole accountable for his broken promises.

The full episode of Talk With Flee can be watched below, where Cam'ron further discusses his side of the story and why he's suing J. Cole.

ugh this whole thing got me thinking about how unreliable people are nowadays 🤦‍♂️ I mean cam'ron gave j cole so many freebies and still got played... i feel him, though - if you give your word, it's gotta be kept. no matter how busy you think you are, there's always time to follow through on a promise. anyway, it'll be interesting to see how this lawsuit plays out 🤑

Ugh, this just reeks of entitled rapper behavior 🤦‍♂️. I mean, come on Cam'ron, if you're gonna sue someone over a broken promise, at least have the decency to do your research first? It sounds like Cole gave you some half-hearted excuses for why he couldn't follow through, and now you're milking this lawsuit for all it's worth 🤑. Being a man has nothing to do with keeping your word if you're just gonna use it as a bargaining chip in your ego 🤔. I'd rather not take sides here, but honestly, this whole thing seems like a PR stunt to me 🎉

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole situation 🤯. It got me thinking about what it means to be a man in today's world... I mean, we've all been burned by people breaking promises at some point or another. But Cam'ron is saying that when you give your word, you gotta keep it, no matter what. It's like, what's the point of making a promise if you're just gonna go back on it? 🤔

And I'm not saying J. Cole didn't do anything wrong, but it seems like Cam'ron felt really disrespected by his broken promises... like, he was giving him every opportunity to follow through. And now Cam's all about holding Cole accountable for keeping his word 💯.

But you know what really got me? When Cam said being a man means keeping your word, I couldn't help but think that this is a universal lesson that we can all learn from... not just in the music industry, but in life. We've all gotta be more mindful of our commitments and follow through on them 💪.

Man, I'm lowkey surprised by this whole situation 🤔. Cam'ron seems like a stand-up dude, and I feel him on keeping your word being super important 💯. Like, I get it, life gets crazy and stuff comes up, but when you give someone your word, you gotta follow through. It's not just about the music or the features, it's about respect 🤝.

I'm also a bit salty for Cam'ron 'cause Cole kept stringing him along 🔥. I mean, who does that? It's like, Cole had his chance to do an interview and he blew it off 📺. And now Cam's suing him? Yeah, I can see why he'd wanna do that 😒.

It's all good though, 'cause in the end, it's just music 💖. We love Cam'ron, we love J. Cole... let's keep it real and respect each other 🤝.

Being honest about when we can't follow through on our commitments is super important. If someone asks you to do something or share their thoughts, it's like making a promise in front of your friends 🤝, and you gotta deliver or risk losing trust. For Cam'ron, waiting for J. Cole to come through on his promises felt like he was constantly being kept waiting, and I get why that would be frustrating. But when we say yes to someone and then don't follow through, it's not just about the person we're dealing with – it's about our own integrity 💯. We gotta think about what kind of example we want to set for others, and whether keeping our word is something we can really do.

omg u guys i'm lowkey livin in this drama between camron & j cole rn 🤯 like seriously how could cole keep breaking promissses like that? camron is straight up sayin it's bcause of being a man and keepin ur word but honestly it's just rude on cole's part he did 1 good thing (do the intro) but then ghosted him & kept pushin off the interview i gotta side with camron on this one 🤝

omg u gotta feel 4 cam'ron 🤯 like, how many times did cole break that man's trust?! 🙄 from deliverin on features to gettin all ghosted on interviews... it's just too much. i think cam's right tho, bein a man means keepin ur word & if u say u're gonna do somethin, u gotta do it 💯 but at the same time, cole's got some serious excuses for why he kept pushin things back 🤦‍♂️ like, what happened to his album? is it really that complicated?! 💸 anyway, i'm lowkey curious to see how dis whole lawsuit goes down 🤑

lol what a mess 🤯 cam'ron sounds like a real stand-up dude who ain't afraid to call out cole for being all flaky about it 😒 i mean, if you give your word you gotta deliver, no exceptions 🤑 maybe cole was just trying to get out of doing the interview because he didn't wanna talk trash about kendrick and drake lol but seriously though cam'ron's right on point here 👊

omg i just listened to this interview with cam'ron and i'm like totally confused 😕 so basically j cole is all broken promises right? but cam says it's not about that cuz he already delivered on some stuff they agreed on 🤔 like did j cole even follow through on that album he was talking about the fall-off? 📀 i need to get that out now 👍 what's up with him delaying interviews too tho? i feel cam for holding him accountable but at the same time i'm not sure why it had to go to court 🤷‍♀️ anyway, being a man means keeping your word is like a pretty deep message 💡

man i feel cam'ron's pain 😩 like who does that? you give your word four or five times and then just ghost someone? that's not cool at all 🤬 especially when it comes to keeping promises as a man, that's some real talk 💯 i think its time for j cole to step up his game and keep those promises he owes cam'ron. maybe this lawsuit will make him see how hurtful it is to break someone's trust like that 💔

Wow 🤯! I'm surprised that J. Cole would do this to Cam'ron. Broken promises are never cool 😒. I get it, being a man means keeping your word, but it's not just about one or two instances, it's about consistency and respect for others' time. It's like, if you're gonna make plans, actually follow through on them! 📅💼

I'm thinking Cam'ron's all right, he's just tryin' to stand up for himself 🤔. I mean, if someone promised you somethin' and they don't deliver, that's not cool, you know? It's like, you gotta keep your word, especially when it comes to business and collaborations. Cam felt disrespected by J. Cole's antics, and I think he's got the right to take action 🚫. The thing is, we've all been in situations where someone promised us somethin' and then ghosted us or delayed things, but that don't make it okay. Maybe they were just busy or overwhelmed, but still, you gotta respect people's time and commitments 👊. Anyway, I'm curious to see how this whole thing plays out 🤔.

I think Cam'ron's all right in taking action here 🤔. I mean, when you make a promise to someone, especially as a man, it's gotta be kept. Don't give people the runaround just 'cause things get busy or whatever 🚫. It's like my grandma used to say: if you don't put your word in writing, don't expect anyone to hold up their end of the deal 💼. Of course, I'm not saying Cole didn't make his promises, but he did delay and all that... maybe Cam just had enough 🤷‍♂️. It's gotta be frustrating when people string you along like that.

Ugh I'm so done with people breaking promises 🤯! Like I get it, life gets crazy and stuff comes up, but when you make a commitment, you gotta follow through 💁‍♂️. Cam'ron is right on point about this - if he gives his word four or five times, he expects it to mean something for once 🙄. It's not like J. Cole didn't have other opportunities to collaborate with Cam, but instead chose to drag his feet and make excuses 🕰️. I'm all for accountability, though - maybe this will help Cole grow up a bit 😏. Anyway, gotta give props to Cam'ron for speaking truth to power 💯.

idk how i feel about this whole thing 🤔 cam'ron's just trying to get j. cole's attention, but now it's a lawsuit? seems kinda petty to me... remember when they were both youngins trying to make it in the game? now it's all about keeping their word and being a man. what changed?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole situation... 😲 I think what really gets me is that J. Cole was like, "I'll do the interview," multiple times, but then he'd just give Cam'ron a bunch of excuses about how busy he was or some other reason. It's not like it was a surprise to anyone in the music industry that J. Cole had a lot on his plate - we've all been there. But what really takes the cake is when Cole says, "I'm dead ass on February." Like, what does that even mean? Is he serious about being unavailable or just trying to sound tough? 🤷‍♂️ The thing that bothers me most is how many times J. Cole broke his word - it's not like one or two slip-ups, it's multiple instances of him reneging on his commitments. I don't think anyone would take Cam'ron lightly for suing over this. It's not just about the money; it's about principle - being a man means keeping your word. 🤑

🤔 I don't get it, dude... like, J. Cole promised Cam a feature on his album and an interview, but then just ghosted him? That's not cool at all. 🙅‍♂️ You gotta respect your word, you know? I mean, I've had my share of late nights and missed deadlines, but at least I try to make it up to people. Cole seems like he just stringing Cam along for no reason... anyway, I'm curious about what's gonna happen with this lawsuit. Will it actually change anything between them or is it just a big publicity stunt? 🤷‍♂️

I'm so done with this whole situation 🤯. Like, what's up with these rappers and their broken promises? It's not just about the music, it's about respect and keeping your word 💯. Cam'ron's right, being a man means following through on commitments, you feel me? I mean, I'd be furious if someone promised to help me out or collaborate on something and then didn't follow through 🤔. It's not just about Cole, it's about the vibe he sets for his fans too 💸. Maybe this lawsuit will get him to shape up and be more reliable 👊. What do you guys think?

🤔 I'm still tryin' to wrap my head around this lawsuit between Cam'ron and J. Cole 🎵. Like, I get it, broken promises can be whack, but I feel like Cam'ron is comin' at this from a place of hurt and frustration 😔. He's sayin' that when they first made plans for the collab, he showed up with the intro in 24 hours, no problemo 🕒. But then Cole just keeps pushin' it back and back, like "I'm busy" or whatever 🙄.

For real though, Cam'ron's point about bein' a man is key 🤝. He says that if you give someone your word, you gotta follow through 🔥. I can get on board with that 💯. It's not just about the music, it's about respect and accountability 💼. I'm curious to see how this whole thing plays out ⚖️. Will Cole own up to his mistakes or try to weasel his way out of it 🤷‍♂️? Only time will tell 🕰️.
