'Can we have more comedies?': Armenian cinema processes trauma as country wrangles EU membership – and Trump

🤯 I think it's so cool how Armenia is using its cinematic output to process trauma and explore its identity. The films are like a mirror reflecting the country's complexities and struggles. It's amazing that filmmakers like Stepanyan and Nazarian are using their art to tackle tough themes like displacement, belonging, and cultural heritage. 💥 I mean, who needs politics when you have a good story and some powerful visuals, right? 😉 The diaspora connection is also really interesting - it highlights how Armenian identity is not just about the country itself, but also about its global community. 🌎 It's like they're saying, "Hey, we may be small, but our culture is big!" 💪

I'm not sure I get why Armenia is so keen on joining the EU 🤔. I mean, they're still dealing with some heavy stuff from their past...like that war with Azerbaijan 🔥. Are they really ready for all the changes that come with EU membership? It seems like a lot to take on right now.

And what's up with this "stateless power" thing? 🤷‍♀️ I don't get how it works, but if Armenia's diaspora is having such an impact on their cinema, that's interesting. Maybe it's not all bad, but I'm still skeptical about the whole EU thing... 🙃
