I gotta say, I'm loving the idea of giving Corneliszoon some props . Like, who knew a simple sawmill design could make such a huge impact on shipbuilding and trade? The dude was a genius, plain and simple . But you know what's even crazier? Trying to recreate that same innovation today with just a few basic components . I mean, it's a great challenge for us as a community to try and figure out how Corneliszoon did it, but at the same time, it makes me wonder... who needs wind power or electricity when you've got some clever engineering skills ?
I mean, Cornelis Corneliszoon's sawmill is pretty cool I guess... but can we talk about how it reminds me of those old steam-powered machines from the 19th century? Like, they were totally mind-blowing back in the day and changed everything for trade and commerce. And now, here we are, trying to figure out if we could've done something similar with just a few basic components... It's like, we're rediscovering old ideas and wondering what could've been . I'm thinking maybe it's not about the individual invention itself but how it contributed to an entire era of progress? Like, the steam engine or the printing press or something... those things were total game-changers
