ChatGPT isn’t the only chatbot pulling answers from Elon Musk’s Grokipedia

Ugh, I'm getting a little worried about this whole Grokipedia thing... 🤔 I mean, Elon Musk's AI-generated encyclopedia is already sketchy, but the fact that it's being used by multiple popular chatbots and cited in thousands of responses is just not cool 😬. I get that it might seem like a convenient source of info, but think about it - anyone can make mistakes or put out biased content on Grokipedia, which could easily spread misinformation 💔. And the fact that it's got some pretty dodgy views too... 🤕 It's not just about accuracy, it's about who's behind it and what their agenda is. We need to be more careful about where we get our info from, folks! 📚💡

man.. this is like a wild ride into the rabbit hole 🤯... think about it - AI-generated encyclopedia citing in chatbots? and people actually trusting that info? 🤔 it's like we're living in a sci-fi movie where machines are making decisions for us, but what if those decisions are based on faulty or biased data? 🚨 and Grokipedia being used as a source is like, a red flag waving in the wind... i mean, we know it reflects some pretty sketchy views 💡 like racism and transphobia... how can we expect accuracy when the 'source' itself is flawed? 🤷‍♂️ and what's going on with Perplexity and Google just kinda ignoring this whole thing? 🙅‍♂️ shouldn't we be holding these big players accountable for promoting misinformation or perpetuating harm? 🤝 i'm all for innovation, but let's not forget to critically evaluate the info we're fed 💡

🤯 just saw that some major chatbots are citing Elon Musk's AI-generated encyclopedia Grokipedia and it's got me worried 🤔... I mean, we all know Wikipedia is the gold standard but Grokipedia is like a student who's trying too hard to impress their teacher 😅. Like, we're not gonna take its info at face value just because it's got Elon Musk's name on it 💁‍♀️. And let's be real, 0.01-0.02 percent of all ChatGPT citations is still a lot 📊. I hope these experts are right and we can catch this AI-generated misinformation before it spreads like wildfire 🔥.

I mean, think about it... 🤔 AI is getting more powerful by the day and we're just starting to see how it's gonna change the game. But what's wild is that Grokipedia's got a pretty shady track record already, with racist and transphobic views being cited... it's like, don't get me wrong, Elon Musk's got some weird stuff going on in his past but come on, a whole platform built around spreading misinformation? It's just not cool. And now that chatbots are relying on it, we're at risk of getting even more disinformation out there... it's like, can't we learn from Wikipedia's human-edited approach instead of just throwing AI-generated stuff into the mix? 🤷‍♂️

So I'm reading this about Elon Musk's AI-generated encyclopedia, Grokipedia, being used by chatbots and it's got me thinking 🤔... It's crazy to think that an AI-generated source like Grokipedia could be considered a credible info outlet. I mean, we all know how easily misinformation can spread when you're talking about huge datasets 📊

And what's even more worrying is that this thing has been cited in over 263k responses from ChatGPT alone, which is insane 😲. And it's not like Grokipedia is some obscure source either - it's got views on racist and transphobic stuff 🚫... I don't think that's something you want to see in any info outlet.

I'm also curious to know why more people aren't talking about this, especially with all the experts weighing in 🤓. It just seems like we need to be more vigilant when it comes to where our info is coming from and who's pushing it out 📰

I'm not surprised to see chatbots citing Grokipedia as a source 🤔, but I do think it's a bit concerning that Google's Gemini and ChatGPT are referencing Musk's AI-generated encyclopedia. I mean, we all know Grokipedia isn't exactly the most credible source on its own... 😐. Still, with over 263k instances of Grokipedia being referenced in just 13.6 million prompts, it's not like they're ignoring it either 🤷‍♂️.

I'd love to see more research on this topic, though. I'm curious to know what kind of vetting process is in place for chatbots to ensure they're using credible sources like Wikipedia over AI-generated content like Grokipedia 💻.
