I gotta say... Chuck Schumer's been getting roasted left and right over this shutdown thing 
. But honestly, I feel like some folks are being kinda harsh? Like, we all need a break sometimes, right? And yeah, Schumer might've gotten caught up in the fantasy world of Joe & Eileen (I'm looking at you, Chuck 
), but that doesn't mean he didn't care about the real Americans affected by the shutdown.
And what's with all these calls for him to step aside? Isn't it time we start listening to each other instead of just tearing each other down? I mean, I've been seeing some older folks say Schumer's outta touch, but I'm like... have you met any of his constituents lately?
They're probably still dealing with the shutdown's aftermath. We need more empathy in politics, not less.
And Ro Khanna says Schumer's lost touch with the zeitgeist? Like, okay, dude, we get it
. But what about all those young Dems who still believe in Schumer's vision for the country? Don't their voices matter too? I'm just saying... let's take a deep breath and try to understand where Chuck's coming from (even if it is through his imaginary friends). Can't we find common ground without demonizing each other?
