Coastal flood advisory in place for Bay Area Shorelines from Tuesday to Sunday

Coastal residents in the Bay Area are bracing themselves for potential flooding as a coastal flood advisory has been issued from Tuesday to Sunday. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns of up to 1.4 feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.

High tides on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will pose a significant threat to coastal communities. High tide levels are expected to reach as high as 7.2 feet above mean lower low water (MLLW) at certain locations. Residents are advised to be aware of the following conditions: sneaker waves, strong rip currents, and large breaking waves.

Flood warnings are in place for all affected areas, with flooding of lots, parks, and roads anticipated. Isolated road closures may occur, so travelers are encouraged to allow extra time on the roads. It is also essential to avoid driving around barricades or through water of unknown depth.

Residents are reminded of the importance of taking necessary precautions to protect their property and safety. The NWS offers essential flood safety guidelines, including:

* Seeking higher ground
* Following evacuation orders
* Disconnecting utilities and appliances
* Avoiding basements and submerged areas
* Evacuating promptly for safety
* Refraining from walking in floodwaters

The risk of flooding increases during periods of intense rainfall, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Residents are advised to avoid driving through any water on the road, even if it seems shallow.

To prepare for potential flooding, residents can also learn about sandbag usage and where to obtain them in their area. For more weather alerts in the Bay Area, visit Weather Advisories.

The NWS has issued a flood advisory for Northern Monterey Bay, Southern Monterey Bay, Big Sur Coast, and San Francisco County, which will remain in effect from Tuesday at 6 am until Sunday at 3 pm.

Ugh, can't believe we're having to deal with this again 🀯 coastal flooding is getting worse by the year! The NWS needs to come up with some better solutions for our homes and businesses that are already dealing with rising sea levels. It's so frustrating when you're trying to enjoy a day at the beach or just live your life and suddenly BAM, flood warning! 🌊😩

Ugh, I'm getting so sick of these regular flood advisories in the Bay Area 🀯. It's like we're never done with the flooding, you know? And it's not just about the coastal residents who live near shorelines... what about all the people who get stuck at home because their commute is affected by the flooding? 🚧

And can we talk about infrastructure for a second? Like, why do we still have roads and buildings that are basically designed to flood every few years? We should be investing in better stormwater management systems and sea walls that can protect us from this kind of thing. It's not like it's going to cost an arm and a leg or anything... πŸ€‘

I'm also worried about all the people who don't have access to the same safety guidelines and resources as everyone else. What if they're already living paycheck to paycheck? How are they supposed to evacuate their homes or take time off work when they can barely afford rent? It's just not right, you know? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

We need some real solutions to this flooding problem, people! Not just empty warnings and precautions... πŸ’ͺ

OMG, flooding in the Bay Area is getting crazy 🌊😱! I'm super worried about my friend's place near the beach, she has to deal with this every time it rains... like, what even is a sandbag, can't they just move the whole house or something? πŸ˜‚πŸ™„ and those sneaker waves are no joke, I saw some vids of people getting swept away by them and it was like, WOW! 🀯 need to be super careful out there.

I'm low-key freaking out about this coastal flood advisory 🌊😬. I mean, 7.2 feet of inundation above ground level is wild. It's like, can't we just get some proper drainage systems in place around here? And what's up with the sneaker waves and strong rip currents? Can't even enjoy a day at the beach without worrying about getting wiped out πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

And don't even get me started on the flooding of lots and roads. Like, I get it, it's an emergency situation, but can't we just have some contingency plans in place? I mean, how many times do people have to be told to avoid driving through water before they listen? 🚫 It's like, basic common sense, folks.

But for real though, kudos to the NWS for issuing those flood safety guidelines. If we all take these precautions seriously, maybe we can minimize the damage and keep our communities safe πŸ’ͺ.

I'm so worried about those people living near the coast 🌊😬. I mean, 1.4 feet of water above ground level is a lot to deal with! Do you think they're prepared for this kind of thing? Shouldn't there be more warning systems in place or something? And what's up with all these sneaker waves and strong rip currents? It's so scary just thinking about it 🀯. I hope everyone stays safe, but at the same time, I'm like, shouldn't they have some sort of protection from this kind of thing? Like, maybe better buildings or something? Or is that just not a thing in their area anymore? πŸ€”

😬 I'm so worried about my kids heading out to school tomorrow with all this flooding predicted 🌊🏫. We live in a low-lying area near the coast and have experienced flooding before, it's always super stressful 🀯. I wish there were more resources available for families like mine who don't have the means to sandbag our homes πŸŒ€. The NWS is right though, we need to be extra careful with sneaker waves, strong rip currents, and driving through floodwaters - it's just not worth the risk πŸ’¦. Has anyone else in the Bay Area dealt with flooding? Any tips on how to prepare for this? πŸ€”

OMG, like I know some ppl are gonna freak out about this coastal flood advisory 🀯 but can we please not forget that it's just Mother Nature doing her thing? Like, we're lucky to even live near the ocean in the first place! πŸ˜… The NWS is being super responsible by issuing a flood advisory and providing essential guidelines for residents. It's all about being prepared and taking necessary precautions, you know? 🀝 I mean, who doesn't love the beach, but safety always comes first, right? πŸ’― So let's not jump to conclusions or spread unnecessary panic. We got this, Bay Area! 🌊πŸ’ͺ

🌊 ugh flooding in the bay area already πŸ™„ gotta be careful out there, esp during high tide, those sneaker waves can pop up quick like ⚑️ and rip currents are super strong too 🀯 anyone have flood insurance? gotta make sure all doors and windows are boarded up and sandbags are ready just in case πŸ’ͺ been here forever and seen it before but never gets old...

umm so like flooding is a big deal right? i dont have a house by the beach but my friend does 🀯 she's super worried about this flood advisory thingy. i mean, 1.4 feet of water above ground level sounds like a lot! 🌊 what if she gets stuck at home for days with no power or water? 🚿 that would be super stressful lol πŸ€ͺ does anyone know where sandbags are available in the Bay Area tho? πŸ—οΈ i need to look into that ASAP πŸ•°οΈ

πŸ€” I'm so sure these flood warnings are just the beginning... 😬 like we haven't seen this before and they're gonna happen again next year too πŸ™„ And don't even get me started on sandbags, who actually knows how to use them right? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ It's all about taking necessary precautions, but I mean, what if someone forgets to plug the toilet or something? 🚽 That's just gonna cause more flooding, right? πŸ˜‚ And have you seen those sneaker waves? Like, they're literally a thing now... how do we even know when one is coming? 🌊

omg this is getting serious!!! 🌊😬 i live near the bay area and i'm already stocking up on sandbags and water just in case. the thought of 7.2 feet of flooding above ground level is just crazy πŸ’₯ it's not like we're used to this kind of thing out here, so it's gonna be a wild ride if you know what i mean 🀯 has anyone checked if there are any emergency shelters set up for those who need to evacuate? and what about the pets?! 🐾😨 gotta make sure they're safe too πŸ‘

πŸ€” Um so like coastal flooding is a thing right? I mean I live near the beach and we get those crazy high tides sometimes... I don't know how people cope with it lol. Like, I've seen videos of these sneaker waves on YouTube and they're huge! 🌊😲 What's the deal with that? Are those just like really fast moving waves or something? And what about all the sandbags? Do people actually use them to protect their houses? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

πŸ€” I'm tellin' ya, this is just the tip of the iceberg 🌊. They're always pushin' these flood advisories and warnings, but what's really goin' on? Is it just a coincidence that all these coastal areas are prone to flooding at the same time? It feels like they're tryin' to buy up all the properties in those low-lying areas and then raise the flood levels to justify their 'acquisitions'. And don't even get me started on the sandbags – who's really makin' money off that? The government, that's who. They're just usin' it as a cover for more expensive infrastructure projects πŸ€‘. Mark my words, this is all part of some big scheme...

omg u gotta be careful out there 🌊😬 flooding is never fun especially with high tides and strong waves it's like nature's fury hitting ur doorstep i mean i feel for the ppl who live in those areas they gotta deal with all this mess every week but yeah just stay safe & follow the guidelines from nws u can make a big difference if u take care of urself & property πŸ’•

🌊😬 omg coastal residents are gonna have to deal with some crazy flooding vibes this week 🀯 the nws is being super real about it too - up to 1.4 feet of water can make a big difference in low-lying areas... i mean, who doesn't love walking around in ankle-deep water? πŸ˜‚ but seriously, folks, take that flood safety guide and run with it πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

i'm also kinda concerned about those sneaker waves and strong rip currents - like, how can you even predict when they're gonna happen? πŸ€” just gotta be extra careful out there, ya know? 😬

πŸ˜±πŸ’¦πŸŒŠ oh no! coastal flooding is the worst 🀯. like, i totally feel for those bay area residents πŸ˜“ they gotta be so prepared and stuff πŸ’ͺ. sneaker waves and strong rip currents are no joke πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’₯ and flooding lots, parks, and roads? that's just not cool πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. i hope everyone stays safe and sound πŸ™πŸŒŸ and learns those flood safety guidelines πŸ‘πŸ”’. sandbags are like, super helpful πŸ’ͺ but let's not drive through water even if it seems shallow πŸš«πŸ’¦. gotta respect the weather and all πŸŒˆπŸ’¨

🌊 gotta wonder why people always forget about the little guys who live down by the water πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ those flood warning signs are everywhere but do people really take them seriously? i think it's time for us to reevaluate our priorities and remember that safety is not just about ourselves, but also about our neighbors and community 🌈 the NWS is right, we need to be proactive in preparing for these floods, from disconnecting utilities to evacuating promptly 🚨 let's all take a cue from nature and learn to respect its power β›ˆοΈ

omg, guys 🀯 flooding is like such a bummer! i was just planning on checking out the pier in SF this weekend but now idk lol πŸš£β€β™€οΈ i feel for all those coastal residents tho, it's so scary when the tides get crazy high. 1.4 feet of water above ground level? that's no joke πŸ’§ i'm all about being safe and prepared though, so i'll def be following those flood safety guidelines from the NWS πŸ™ sandbags are like a good backup plan too... where can i even find them in SF?! πŸ€” let's hope it doesn't get super bad this weekend! 🌊
