Cook County Board of Review reopens appeals for 24 townships until Dec. 12

"Appeals Window Reopened for 24 Townships in Cook County"

As part of its ongoing efforts, the Cook County Board of Review has announced that it will reopen appeals for 24 previously closed townships until December 12. This move is set to benefit taxpayers who have yet to submit their assessment complaints for the 2025 tax year.

Residents from Berwyn, Evanston, Norwood Park, River Forest, and several other municipalities will now have an opportunity to address any concerns they may have regarding their property assessments. The extended appeals window applies to those who haven't already submitted their complaints, allowing them until December 12 to do so.

While the deadline for providing supporting evidence is set for December 24, taxpayers can submit their appeals in various ways โ€“ online, through in-person events hosted by the Board of Review, or at its downtown office located at 118 N. Clark St., where it operates Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Just heard about this ๐Ÿค”. So the Cook County Board of Review is giving taxpayers an extra chance to appeal their property assessments? That's a big deal, especially for people in Berwyn and Evanston who are feeling pinched by their taxes ๐Ÿ’ธ. The fact that they're reopening appeals for 24 townships is definitely a good thing โ€“ more options for people to get things sorted out before the deadline ๐Ÿ“†. Now we just have to hope that everyone takes advantage of this and doesn't leave themselves scrambling at the last minute ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. And nice that there are different ways to submit an appeal, online or in-person events...convenience matters! ๐Ÿ‘

I don't get why they're reopening this window after already making so many changes ๐Ÿค”. I mean, some people might still be dealing with the aftermath of last year's tax hike and now they're giving them another chance to fight it? It feels like just a Band-Aid solution to me. At least they're offering online options, though - that's a plus ๐Ÿ’ป. Still think it's a bit too late for some folks to get their complaints in on time, but hey, better late than never, right? โฐ

OMG I was getting so frustrated about my property tax bill this year ๐Ÿคฏ and just found out that there's another chance for people in Cook County to appeal! I'm all about fairness, you know? It's not like the assessment is set in stone or anything... 24 townships reopened is a pretty big deal, but still only applies if you haven't already filed your complaint by December 12 ๐Ÿ•’๏ธ so if you're thinking of doing it, get on that ASAP! I wish they could've made the appeals process more user-friendly tho, like online forms or something... it's always such a hassle to deal with paperwork ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

๐Ÿค” I think this is a great move for Cook County residents ๐Ÿ™Œ. The fact that they're reopening appeals for 24 townships gives people another chance to address any issues they may have with their property assessments. It's always a good thing when taxpayers get more time to review and correct any errors that might be affecting their tax bills ๐Ÿ’ธ.

I'm guessing this is going to help reduce some of the stress and uncertainty that comes with dealing with property taxes ๐Ÿคฏ. Plus, it shows that the Cook County Board of Review is committed to listening to its residents and making sure everyone's concerns are heard ๐Ÿ‘‚. The extended deadline also gives people more time to gather their evidence and build a strong case for their appeal.

It's always better to have more options when it comes to resolving disputes like this ๐Ÿค. And let's be real, who doesn't love having a little extra time to get everything sorted out? ๐Ÿ˜Š

Just heard about this news and I'm so glad they're reopening appeals for those 24 townships in Cook County ๐Ÿ™Œ! It's always frustrating when you feel like your property assessment is off, right? This extended window is definitely a welcome relief for taxpayers who haven't had a chance to speak up yet. I mean, can you imagine not knowing if your taxes are fair or not until it's too late? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ It's great that the Cook County Board of Review is working to give people more time to review and dispute their assessments.

I do hope this move helps reduce some of the stress that comes with tax season ๐Ÿคž. For those who haven't already, now's a good time to take a closer look at your assessment and see if there's anything you can do to advocate for yourself. Just make sure to get in touch by December 12, so you don't miss the window! ๐Ÿ˜Š

omg this is amazing news ๐Ÿ™Œ I mean who wouldn't want more time to fix those pesky property assessments? 24 townships reopen is huge! I'm so down for Evanston and Berwyn getting in on that too, been dealing with my own assessment drama last year and it was a real headache. December 12 feels like a lifeline for all these taxpayers who need to get their complaints in. And yeah, online submissions are always the best way out ๐Ÿคฉ can't wait to see how this plays out!

so that's good news for those who live in those townships ๐Ÿ˜Š they're getting an extra chance to speak up about their property assessments, which can be a real burden for some people. i think the idea of having multiple ways to submit appeals is great - it makes it more accessible for everyone, especially if you don't have the time or energy to deal with all that paperwork online. and december 12 is still pretty far away, so i'm not too worried about the deadline being too aggressive ๐Ÿ•’๏ธ

OMG u guys!!! ๐Ÿคฏ so like the cook county board of review just reopened appeals for 24 townships and i am SO down for this!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚ who doesn't hate getting stuck with unfair property assessments, right? ๐Ÿค‘ so if u haven't already submitted ur complaint yet, ur good luck! ๐Ÿคž but seriously, this is a huge win for taxpayers, it's like the gov's trying to make things easier for us. idk about u but i'm just gonna take advantage of dis and get my assessment checked ASAP ๐Ÿ’ธ

SO COOL THAT THE APPEALS WINDOW IS BEING REOPENED FOR THOSE 24 TOWNSHIPS IN COOK COUNTY!!! IT'S A BIG DEAL FOR TAXPAYERS WHO MIGHT HAVE MISSED THE ORIGINAL DEADLINE AND WERE WONDERING IF THEY'D EVER GET A CHANCE TO SPEAK UP ABOUT THEIR PROPERTY ASSESSMENTS!!!

I MEAN, WHO DOESN'T WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE PAYING THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF TAXES?! IT'S LIKE, EASY TO OVERPAY OR UNDERPAY WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR ASSESSMENT IS SUPPOSED TO BE. AND NOW THAT THIS WINDOW IS OPENED, PEOPLE CAN FINALLY GET THEIR CONCERNS HEARD AND MAKE SURE THEY'RE NOT GETTING RIPPED OFF!

SO KUDOS TO THE COOK COUNTY BOARD OF REVIEW FOR EXTENDING THIS DEADLINE AND MAKING SURE EVERYONE HAS A CHANCE TO SPEAK UP!!! ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ’ช

I donโ€™t usually comment but I think this is a big deal for people living in Cook County! The fact that theyโ€™re reopening appeals for 24 townships is definitely helpful. You know, with the tax year changing and all, it can be super stressful trying to figure out how much you owe or if your assessment is fair. But now, people who haven't had a chance to submit their complaints yet have more time to do so. Thatโ€™s pretty cool! I guess it just goes to show that there are still ways for taxpayers to get some help and make sure theyโ€™re not being taken advantage of.

Itโ€™s also good that they're offering different ways for people to submit their appeals, like online or in-person events. I mean, not everyone is super tech-savvy or has a lot of free time, so it's great that there are options for everyone. Anyway, I guess this is just one less thing for people to worry about when it comes to taxes... ๐Ÿคž

Ugh, great, just what we need another delay ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. I mean, 24 more townships reopening their appeals window? It's like they're trying to give us an endless chance to deal with these tax assessment headaches ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. And December 12 is still months away, so who knows how many of us will even bother to submit our complaints in time ๐Ÿค”. And don't even get me started on the supporting evidence deadline... December 24? Are they trying to make our lives even more stressful during the holiday season? ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I donโ€™t usually comment but... I think this is kinda cool that they're reopening appeals for these 24 townships ๐Ÿค”. It's good that taxpayers have another chance to review their property assessments and maybe even get some of the tax dollars they feel are unfair back ๐Ÿ’ธ. I've lived in Chicago my whole life, and it can be super frustrating when you think your taxes are too high or not fair. This extended window is a big help for people like me who just want to make sure we're being treated fairly ๐Ÿ™. Plus, it's awesome that they're making it easy for folks to submit their appeals online โ€“ technology is always a win in my book ๐Ÿ“Š.

Yaaas ๐Ÿ’– finally some good news for those who've been waiting to appeal their property assessments in Cook County! This is such a great move by the Board of Review, giving people even more time to voice their concerns ๐Ÿ˜Š it's always a pain to deal with tax stuff, but this extended window will definitely help reduce stress ๐Ÿ™ and I'm sure many residents will take advantage of it to make sure they're getting a fair assessment ๐Ÿ’ฏ those who haven't already submitted their complaints can now get moving - online, in-person events, or at the office... whatever works best for them! ๐Ÿ‘

I'm kinda surprised they're reopening these appeals for another month ๐Ÿค”. I mean, shouldn't they've had more time by now to work out any issues? But I guess some people might have been waiting until the last minute or just not knew about it. It's always good that taxpayers get a chance to speak up, though ๐Ÿ‘. Maybe we'll see some changes in property assessments now. The extended deadline does make sense, though - you gotta give people time to gather their stuff and file properly. December 24 for evidence submission feels like a reasonable cutoff date ๐Ÿ•’๏ธ.

so they're giving people more time to complain about property assessments...that's not surprising, though - tax season is always a mess ๐Ÿคฏ. i think it's good that the board of review is being proactive and allowing taxpayers to submit their appeals without feeling rushed. it's also pretty convenient that they've got different channels for submission - online, in-person events, or just a physical office location...anyway, i hope it all gets sorted out by december 24 ๐Ÿคž

so cool that they're reopening this window for more townships ๐Ÿ™Œ, i mean it's always good to give people a chance to speak up about their property tax issues. and dec 12 is pretty much around christmas time so i'm not sure how many ppl will actually take advantage of this but still glad they're making an effort to listen ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿ˜Š so i just saw this news and thought it was super late but cool that they're reopening appeals for 24 townships in cook county...i mean, who doesn't love more time to deal with tax stuff? anyway, idk what's going on with the board of review but hopefully they're actually listening to people's concerns this time around ๐Ÿคž and yeah, online submission is a huge plus - gotta make it easy for ppl to express themselves without having to physically go anywhere. btw, 118 n clark st seems kinda old-school...do they still have that old-school vibe going on downtown? ๐Ÿ’ป
