‘Crime Against Television’: Critics Slam New Ryan Murphy Legal Drama Starring Kim Kardashian

Critics Slam Kim Kardashian's Acting in New Ryan Murphy Drama "All's Fair"

In a scathing review, The Guardian's Lucy Mangan has given the Hulu drama "All's Fair" a 0-star rating, calling it "fascinatingly, existentially terrible." She expressed disappointment with Kim Kardashian's performance as the owner of a divorce law firm, stating that her acting is "expressionless" and "useless."

Similar sentiments have been echoed by critics from The Times of London and The Telegraph. Ben Dowell, writing for The Times, described the show as "the worst TV drama ever," blaming Ryan Murphy for its poor execution. He criticized Kardashian's portrayal of a lawyer, stating that it lacked authenticity.

The Telephraph's Ed Power has also panned the series, calling it a "crime against television" and giving it one star. He lamented that Kardashian lacks screen presence, despite her best efforts to convincingly play a character.

USA Today's Kelly Lawler has taken it upon herself to call out Kardashian's acting abilities, stating that they are "bland line readings" that fall short of the title of "actress." She also criticized the writing and scripts for being unoriginal.

However, in contrast, some critics have found value in Murphy's show. The Hollywood Reporter's Angie Han has noted the show's potential to delve into themes of feminism and social justice.

Despite its mixed reviews, "All's Fair" was released on Hulu with its first three episodes dropping on November 4th, with subsequent episodes set to release weekly on Tuesdays.

Kim Kardashian previously collaborated with Murphy in a successful episode of his horror anthology series "American Horror Story: Delicate." Her performance received praise for leaning into her Valley girl persona.

I don't know how Kim Kardashian thought she could pull off acting after that one time on American Horror Story: Delicate 🤣... I mean, what was she even thinking? The reviews are trash and so is the show 😒. Even some of her celeb friends probably wouldn't watch this drama because it's just a mess. And don't even get me started on Ryan Murphy, he clearly messed up again 🙄. It's like he took all his leftover ideas from other shows and threw them into one big dumpster fire. I'm not gonna lie though, if they actually listen to some real constructive feedback from critics, they might be able to salvage this show... but probably won't 🤷‍♀️.

Ugh, what's wrong with Kim K?? I mean, I know she's got a reality TV background and all, but come on... acting isn't just about being famous, you gotta bring some depth to the role, you know? It sounds like these critics are just hating because they're so triggered by her high profile. I watched the first ep with my sis and it was actually pretty good, she's got a certain charm to her that works for this kinda drama. Maybe they need to give her some more time to grow into the character 🤷‍♀️💁‍♀️

omg like i just saw this and i'm literally confused 😂 what happened to kim k's acting skills?! 🤔 i mean i know she's got a new role but honestly it sounds like the critics are being super harsh 😅 i love ryan murphy though he's always done such great work on american horror story 🎃 but maybe kim just needs some more practice? 🤷‍♀️ anyone else watch this drama yet?! 📺

I'm so over the drama unfolding over Kim's acting skills 🙄👀. It's like, can't we just have a critique without resorting to savage reviews? Like, I get it, she's not an actress by training, but who cares?! 😒 The fact that people are panning her performance is kinda beside the point - the show itself isn't even that good. And what's with all these 0-star ratings? 🤔 Are they trying to be funny or something? It just feels like a bunch of armchair critics getting worked up over nothing. I mean, can we just take a chill pill and watch the show for what it is - a mediocre drama with some questionable acting choices? 😴

I gotta agree with some of these critics 🤔 - Kim's acting skills are, like, pretty meh 😐. I mean, she's got a huge following and all, but when it comes to acting, she just doesn't bring much depth or nuance to her roles, you know? The thing is, we're used to seeing her in these more lighthearted roles, like with Kanye or whatnot, so when she steps into something more serious, it can be a bit jarring. And yeah, I can see how her performance in "All's Fair" might feel a bit... expressionless 🤯.

On the other hand, I do think Ryan Murphy is a genius for taking on this project - he always pushes boundaries and tries to tackle some heavy themes 💥. And honestly, if anyone can make this show work, it's him! Even with Kim's acting being, shall we say, not exactly Oscar-worthy 😂, the show still has potential to be really thought-provoking.

What do you guys think? Have you seen "All's Fair" yet? 👀

Ugh, I'm so over Kim Kardashian trying to act 🙄👎. She's like the ultimate example of someone who thinks they can just phone in a role and still get praised for it. And honestly, what's with the lack of chemistry between her and the rest of the cast? It's like she's just going through the motions, reciting lines without any real emotion or depth 🤷‍♀️. I know Ryan Murphy is known for his dramatic flair, but even he can't save this mess from itself... and honestly, if someone's gonna be a disaster on screen it should be me 😂. I mean, who thought it was a good idea to cast Kim in a drama about divorce law? Like, doesn't she have a reality TV show or something already? 🤣

omg i know kim k is trying hard to prove herself as an actress but honestly i think she's not bad 🤷‍♀️. all's fair seems like a super intense drama, i can see how her character would be hard to play if you're not used to it 😬. i kinda get what the critics are saying though, kim k is still not my fave actress 🙅‍♀️. maybe she should stick to what she does best, which is being herself on social media lol 💁‍♀️. but hey, at least ryan murphy is trying something new and pushing boundaries, even if it doesn't quite work out this time 👍.

I gotta say, I'm kinda surprised by the harsh criticism Kim Kardashian is getting for her acting chops in this new Ryan Murphy drama "All's Fair". Don't get me wrong, it's def not a great show 🤔... but some of these critic comments are super unfair! Like, Lucy Mangan from The Guardian says she gave it 0 stars and called the acting "expressionless" and "useless"... which is pretty harsh. I mean, we've all seen Kim try different things in her personal life and on social media, but acting? It's a whole different beast 🦖.

And what really gets me is that some of these critics are still praising Ryan Murphy for his work, like Angie Han from The Hollywood Reporter. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great showrunner too... but "All's Fair" just doesn't seem to be his best effort this time around 😐.

For me, it's all about giving people (and shows) a chance 🤞. Maybe Kim Kardashian needs more practice or direction from the writers? Maybe she was trying something new and it didn't quite work out... I don't know 🤷‍♀️. All I'm saying is that we should be kind to her and not just trash her performance without giving it a fair shot 😊.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about... I mean, Kim's acting has improved, but it's still not on par with some of the other shows she's been in 🤔. I get why people are saying she's lacking, but a 0-star rating from The Guardian? That's harsh 💁‍♀️. And yeah, her Valley girl persona worked well for "American Horror Story", but this drama is supposed to be more serious 😕. I do agree with some of the criticisms about the writing and scripts being unoriginal 📝. But at the same time, I think it's unfair to dismiss Kim's performance entirely 💁‍♀️. The show just needs some tweaks, you know? Maybe give her character more depth or something 🤷‍♂️

I gotta say, Kim's acting skills are pretty meh 🤔. I mean, I've seen high school plays that were more convincing than this. It's like she's trying to hide behind a lawyer suit and still can't make the character pop. And honestly, I'm not buying her whole " Valley girl turned serious actress" vibe 👀. The worst part is that Ryan Murphy was hyped up for this show before it even aired 🤑. Now that it's out, everyone's just kinda...meh 🤷‍♀️. Maybe the writers should've taken a page from Angie Han's book and explored some real issues? 📚

I'm so meh about this whole Kim Kardashian drama thing 🤷‍♀️. I mean, I get it, critics are gonna be harsh, but come on, she's not even trying to be an actress here. It feels like she's just being herself, and that's not acting, fam 💁‍♀️. I loved her in "American Horror Story" tho, that was a whole different vibe. But this show? It just doesn't feel right. And yeah, I can see why the critics are saying it lacks authenticity - she's playing a lawyer, but is that really what she wants to do with her time? 🤔

I gotta say, I'm a bit surprised by the harsh reviews of Kim K's acting in this new Ryan Murphy drama 🤔. I mean, I've seen some good dramas on Hulu that didn't exactly wow me either 😐. But at the same time, it does seem like some people are expecting too much from her, you know? She's trying something new and it's not always easy to nail a role, especially if you're stepping out of your comfort zone 💪.

I do agree with Angie Han that the show has potential to explore some really interesting themes 🌟. And hey, maybe Kim K's acting isn't perfect, but I think she's still got a lot to offer as an actress... and as a celebrity, for that matter 😊. Who knows, maybe this is just the start of something amazing! 💫

Man, I feel like this is a classic case of people expecting too much from someone just 'cause they're famous. Kim K's got a rep for being a total boss in the business world, but acting? That's a whole different story 🤔. Maybe she should've stuck to what makes her successful - building brands and influencing people, not trying to be a Hollywood star 💁‍♀️. And honestly, I get why some critics might say her performance is lacking, but who hasn't bombed in front of the camera at least once? It's all part of growth, right? 🌱

I'm soooo confused about this new show 🤔💁‍♀️... Kim's acting is like, really not my thing 🙅‍♀️... I mean, I love her as a person and all, but on screen? Not so much 😐... I don't get why the critics are being so harsh, it's just a TV show 📺... and to be real, it's not like she's trying to win any Oscars 💁‍♀️... But hey, if you're into that sorta thing, go for it! It's all about personal taste, right? 😊... I do love Ryan Murphy tho, he always puts on some crazy good shows 🤩... and who knows, maybe Kim will surprise us and become the next big actress 🎬... wouldn't that be something?!

😂 Oh man, Kim's acting skills are more "fixed" than her butt 🤣! I mean, 0 stars? That's harsh, Lucy! I'm sure it took a lot of work to be so... expressionless 😴. And poor Ryan Murphy, he must be thinking "what have I done?" 🤦‍♂️. But for real though, if she's gonna play a lawyer, let her at least pretend to care about the law 🙄. And what's with all these harsh reviews? Can't we just say she tried and should get points for that 😊? Maybe it's just not everyone's cup of tea, like my aunt's gassy chili 👀. Anyway, if you're looking for a good show, I'd still watch "All's Fair" just 'cause it's got Kim in it 💁‍♀️.

🤔 I'm not sure what's more cringeworthy, Kim's acting or the fact that she's trying to prove herself as an actress 📺. It feels like she's using her celebrity status to boost her career instead of actually putting in the effort to improve her craft 💁‍♀️. And honestly, if she can't bring some authenticity to a role, it's hard to take it seriously 🤷‍♂️. I'll reserve judgment till I watch more episodes, but so far, not impressed 😐.

Kim's got the whole "acting" thing covered, right? 🤣
[ GIF of a person staring blankly at a wall, with a red "X" marked through it ] 0 stars from Lucy Mangan? 🚫
[Kim Kardashian sitting in front of a whiteboard, looking confused]
[Image of Ryan Murphy's face, contorted in confusion] poor execution? 🤔

I'm shocked by the hate 🤯 towards Kim Kardashian's acting skills, I mean, she did well in American Horror Story right? Interesting how different people have such strong opinions on it 😂. I think Ryan Murphy is a genius for taking risks with new projects and that his fans will keep watching even if critics aren't sold 💁‍♀️. Maybe the show just needs time to grow 🤔
