DDOT leaders shielded ‘romantic interaction’ that delayed buses, broke discipline rules - Detroit Metro Times

This whole thing just makes me wanna pull my hair out 🤯💇‍♀️! Can't believe these senior officials think they're above the law and can just ignore disciplinary procedures because it's convenient for them 💁‍♂️😴. I mean, come on, 115-minute bus disruption? That's unacceptable and affects so many people who rely on DDOT buses 🚌🚨. The lack of accountability is staggering 🤯. We need real reforms here 🔧💪, not just lip service to make it look like something's being done 👀. This report from the OIG needs to be taken seriously and acted upon ASAP ⏰. No more excuses, no more lenient discipline 👊.

"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." 🤕💔 This whole scandal is just a mess, how can you trust anyone in such an important department when it's clear they're looking out for themselves? It's not like they were under pressure or anything, they just abused their power. And what really gets me is that these people are getting away with it because of some BS about procedural fairness... newsflash: if you break the rules, you get in trouble!

Ugh, can you believe this? 🙄 Senior officials in Detroit DDOT thought they were above the law just 'cause they had a little office romance goin' on... like it's no big deal! 🚫 But seriously, 115 minutes of disrupted bus service is huge, especially for people relyin' on those buses to get around. It's all about accountability and followin' procedures, you know? 🤦‍♂️ They should've taken the video evidence and gone with it instead of tryin' to sweep it under the rug. 😒 It's like they thought they were doin' us a favor by lettin' those employees off scot-free... newsflash: they're not! ⚠️ This whole thing is just another example of bureaucratic red tape gettin' in the way of good governance. 🤯

ugh this is soooo not on 🤬 I mean seriously how can you just let this go?! these senior officials are basically getting away with murder 😂 no offense but like a 115 minute bus disruption is NOT ok especially when it's cause of some rom-com between two staff members 🙄 what about the riders who rely on those buses to get their kids to school or to work? they're the ones who really suffer here 🚨

and then you got the OIG report and it just highlights all these systemic problems with DDOT, like their lack of accountability and transparency 🤥 I mean come on guys, if you're gonna investigate something, do it right! no half measures or excuses 🙄

I'm not even going to get into how they tried to spin this whole thing to say that human resources said discharge wasn't warranted or whatever 🙄 that's just a bunch of cop-out nonsense 🤣 the point is, if you break the rules, you gotta face the consequences 💁‍♀️

This is just insane 🤯. I mean, who does that? Two people get cozy with each other on the clock, disrupt an hour-long bus service, and then they just get a slap on the wrist? 🙄 It's like they're above the law or something. And what's really messed up is that no one even did their job properly to start with - the investigation was sloppy, and the discipline was handed out without even considering any of it. This is a huge problem for people who rely on those buses, especially in a city where public transportation is already super limited. It just shows how broken things are at DDOT 🚫
