The revelation that Lashay Durisseau is linked to a string of rapes and kidnappings spanning over three decades is both a testament to the power of modern forensic science and a poignant reminder of the long-lasting impact on victims and their families . The fact that DNA technology has played such a crucial role in cracking this case cannot be overstated, highlighting its potential to shed light on previously unsolved crimes . Moreover, it underscores the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies, government grants, and cold case units in driving justice for those who have been denied it for far too long .
This is like such a huge relief for all those ppl who were affected by this creep back in the day... I can only imagine how scary & traumatic it must've been for them, and now they get to finally have some closure . The thing that's got me thinking tho is... what happens 2 the other ppl who might've also been victims of Durisseau but didn't get caught? Did they ever come forward or were their cases never solved? And how many years are we talkin about here, like literally decades...
finally some justice for all those victims! This dude's been living a double life, preying on innocent people in our community I'm so glad the authorities were able to track him down using DNA tech - it's a game changer for cold cases like this one It's heartbreaking to think about what these women went through, but at least now they have closure and justice is being served Let's hope other perpetrators who think they can hide behind the law are next
OMG yooo, finally justice for all these Bay Area rape victims ! I'm so hyped that this Texas dude got caught after all these years. DNA tech is seriously the real MVP, no cap . It's wild to think about how many times this guy must've hit on women and then just stopped when he found someone he liked . But in reality, his victims didn't get a second chance, and it's crazy that it took so long for them to get justice. I hope Lashay Durisseau gets the max time possible . This is actually super inspiring, shows that even after all these years, we can still make progress on solving cold cases and bringing closure to victims. Good job, Alameda County DA's office, you're a real hero!
I'm shocked this guy got away with it for so long, like what's next? He should've been caught back in '94! I don't trust DNA evidence at all, can't be 100% sure it's not contaminated or something. And a sting op to catch him at his home? That's just too easy. I bet he was set up from the start...
