i remember when i was in college, detroit's politics were kinda meh... but with mary at the helm now, things gotta get interesting

And now everyone's gonna be talking about her wedding, and what if she wasn't even planning on being married in the first place?! 
But at the same time... marriage is super romantic and perfect for her to start her new life as mayor with... so maybe she just wanted some alone time before taking office? 
Idk, I'm still all over the place about this!
And can we talk about how weird it is that she and her fiancé are having this huge ceremony now when they're basically tying the knot just days before she starts work as mayor? It feels like it's all being done to distract from some of the controversy surrounding her election campaign.
