Early Addition: Snowstorm Part One is over...

The storm has subsided in the city that never sleeps, leaving behind a trail of exhausted residents and relieved school administrators. Public schools have reopened after a day-long closure, marking a major test for Mayor Zohran Mamdani's leadership during his first snowstorm at City Hall.

The consensus among observers is that Mamdani passed with flying colors, avoiding any major blunders in the face of one of the highest-stakes situations of running the city. His efforts to connect with constituents and engage with local issues have been widely praised by politicians such as Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, who gave him an A grade.

However, New Yorkers being known for their skepticism, not all praise was forthcoming. Despite Mamdani's apparent success in navigating the crisis, many still expressed complaints about various aspects of the storm response and city operations.

In related news, public transportation has resumed service with some delays, as commuters return to their daily routines. For now, New York City is slowly returning to normalcy after a day that will be remembered for its unexpected challenges.

I was so worried about the snowstorm in NYC 🌨️! I mean, it's been a while since they've had one, and I thought for sure the schools would be shut down even longer πŸ˜…. But Mayor Mamdani must have done something right because it looks like he handled it pretty well πŸ’ͺ. I'm glad the residents are relieved and the kids are back in class πŸ“š. It's not going to be easy getting back into the swing of things, but at least the city is slowly coming back online πŸ’». One thing that's still bugging me though is how some people were complaining about stuff... couldn't they just relax a bit? πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ I guess you can never please everyone, but it's good to see that the mayor is getting some positive vibes from his peers πŸ‘.

I gotta say, I'm glad the storm is over πŸ™Œ... I mean, it was getting pretty scary out there! So Mayor Mamdani did a good job, huh? That's great news! But at the same time, I can see why some people would be skeptical - you know how New Yorkers are πŸ˜‚. It's just that they're always expecting the best (and sometimes they expect it to be perfect πŸ€”). So yeah, it's cool that the schools reopened and everything... but I'm still gonna have a rough day tomorrow πŸ˜’.

I'm calling BS on this A grade from Donovan Richards 🀣 what's next, an honorary degree for surviving the snow? come on folks, it was just one little storm, don't get too hyped up over here πŸ˜‚ also, what about those who lost power and heat? were they just, like, left to suffer in the cold? πŸ₯Ά

So I was out on my street yesterday, watching the storm roll in, and I gotta say it was pretty intense! My neighbor's pipes burst and she had water everywhere, but thankfully her insurance covered it all 😩. But I heard from some of the older folks that they were worried about their grandkids and the elderly getting caught in the storm. It was a big deal for them.

I'm glad Mayor Mamdani stepped up to the plate and showed everyone what he's got. I mean, running a city is no joke, especially when it comes to emergencies like this. And props to him for listening to people and trying to make things right.

But at the same time, I get why some folks are still grumbling about stuff. Like, why did the subway shut down for so long? And what's up with the traffic on 5th Ave? It was a mess! πŸš—πŸ’¨ Still, I think the city's getting back to normal and that's all we can ask for right now.

By the way, has anyone else been out and about today? I tried to get to Central Park but it was super crowded. Guess I'll just have to go back another time 🌳

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole snow thing 🌨️. I mean, I've seen pictures of Central Park all frozen over and it looks like something out of a movie! It's crazy how fast the city can go from chaos to... well, not-so-chaotic πŸ˜…. Mayor Mamdani did seem pretty on top of things, though - he's definitely got some serious skills for handling emergency situations. But, you know, I've been around long enough to see some major storms back in '92 when I was a kid... and that one really taught me the importance of having a solid plan in place πŸ“. Now, let's just hope this is all over and we can get back to our usual NYC pace - you know, the one where we complain about traffic but still love it πŸ’―.

lol can u believe how fast ppl are already doubting mamdani's leadership? like come on, one snowstorm and they're expecting perfection? 🌨️ i think it's cool he got an a grade from donovan richards tho, but what about the rest of us who aren't in queens? didn't we deserve some love too? πŸ˜’ anyway, public transportation is back to normal, so that's a win i guess. i'm still waiting for the city to give out snow-day bonuses or something πŸ€‘

OMG u guys, like I'm not even kidding the snowstorm was SO intense 🌨️😱! I can imagine how tough it must've been for the mayor and the city officials to deal with the chaos. But I gotta give him props, he handled it pretty well 😊. And yay public schools reopened! I was worried about my little sis's school, she has a friend who lives in Queens and she was freaking out thinking her buddy wouldn't make it πŸ€—.

But yeah, I'm sure not everyone is happy with how things went down. My mom was saying how they should've prepared better for the snow and stuff. And omg public transportation? Like what?! 😩 delays everywhere! Guess you gotta be patient now that everything's back to normal πŸ™. All in all, it's like, good on the mayor, but we gotta stay vigilant, ya know? πŸ’‘

I'm like totally surprised the mayor didn't mess it up more πŸ€”. I mean, come on, it's not like he was completely incompetent or anything πŸ˜’. The fact that public schools reopened without major issues says a lot about his leadership skills, right? And those politicians are just trying to help out their buddy, ain't no love in this game πŸ’β€β™€οΈ. What really gets my goat is people expecting him to be perfect, like nobody can handle the pressure and all that πŸ™„. Newsflash: it's snowing in NYC, deal with it! πŸ˜‚

I'm still shook about how well Mamdani handled the snowstorm 🌨️. I mean, one day he's trying to connect with people and the next he's making executive decisions like a pro πŸ’Ό. But what really impressed me was how the city came together – it was like everyone just rolled up their sleeves and got to work 🀝. And, of course, the praise from Richards is no surprise – that guy's been talking about Mamdani for months 😊.

On a more serious note though, I do hope the city learned some valuable lessons from this experience. Like, how do we better prepare for emergencies like this? And what can be done to reduce the strain on our public transportation system? Those are questions that need answering πŸ€”. But overall, it's nice to see New York City bouncing back from this snow day β˜€οΈ. Bring on spring! 🌷

I don't think Donovan Richards' A grade is entirely justified πŸ€”. While Mayor Mamdani did seem to handle the situation well under pressure, it's not like he had a lot of control over the storm itself - that was basically beyond his realm of influence πŸ˜…. Plus, I've seen some reports of schools being opened without adequate snow removal and maintenance crew presence, which raises questions about resource allocation 🚧. Not to say Mamdani failed miserably or anything, but let's not get too caught up in the 'A grade' hype just yet πŸ’‘.

I'm just glad the snow's over 🌨️... I mean, can you believe we got hit with a storm in the first place? πŸ˜‚ It was crazy! So Mayor Mamdani did a good job, y'know? But at the same time, it's not like everything went smoothly or anything. People are always gonna find something to complain about πŸ€”... I mean, public transportation took forever to get back on track πŸš‚. Anyways, I'm just happy we got through the day without any major disasters... and that Mamdani didn't freeze his butt off πŸ˜‚!

I'm just glad my kid made it through the storm okay πŸ™πŸΌ... I mean, I was getting so worried when the school closed, but at least they're back now and can get their meals and all that πŸ˜…. As a parent, you always want your kids to be safe and sound, especially in situations like this. But you've got to hand it to Mayor Mamdani - he seemed really on top of things, even if some people are still complaining about stuff πŸ€”... I mean, it's not easy leading the city during a crisis, but he did a great job keeping everyone informed and safe πŸ’―. My only hope now is that everything gets back to normal soon and we can all just get on with our lives 😌.

man, i feel so bad for those kids who had to miss a whole day of school πŸ€•πŸ˜“ it's like they just lost a day of learning and fun... but at the same time, kudos to mayor mamdani for keeping everyone safe πŸ™Œ he seems like a total pro and his efforts to connect with people are super refreshing in this crazy city ❀️ still, i'm not surprised that some ppl weren't entirely happy with how things went down - new yorkers can be tough critics 😊

I'm still trying to process how quickly the city bounced back from that snowstorm 😊. I mean, it's not like it was a huge surprise or anything - we've had smaller blizzards before. But still, it's always interesting to see how the city responds in situations like this. And from what I can gather, Mayor Mamdani did seem pretty on top of things πŸ’―. But let's be real, that's just one day and there are always gonna be people who aren't satisfied no matter what πŸ€”. I'm kinda curious to see how he handles the follow-up questions and reviews now that the initial crisis has passed... maybe we'll get a better sense of his actual leadership style 😊

omg i feel so bad for those ppl who got affected by the storm it's crazy how fast things can go from 0 to 100 🀯πŸ’₯ but at least mayor mamdani stepped up and did a great job connecting with his constituents that's really what matters, not just about bashing the city ops πŸ™πŸ‘ also gotta give props to donovan richards for giving him an A grade lol nice move! but yeah i can see why some ppl would still be like "meh" it's all good tho nyc is back to normal now and that's what matters πŸ’–πŸ’ͺ

I'm so hyped 🀩 that Mayor Mamdani made it through the first snowstorm without any major hiccups! I mean, running the city's public schools for a whole day is no joke 😬, and he pulled it off with flying colors πŸ’¨. I love how he connected with his constituents and listened to their concerns - that's what leadership is all about πŸ™Œ.

But, you know, New Yorkers being super critical, some people might be like "yeah yeah, good job" but still finding fault in the city's response πŸ€”. Can't blame 'em, though - they have a right to express themselves and want things done better πŸ’―. I'm just happy to see our mayor doing his thing and keeping us safe ❀️. Now, let's get back to our daily lives and try not to think about the snow too much ❄️... until next time πŸ˜…!

OMG 😱 I'm so relieved it's all over! The snowstorm was crazy intense 🌨️ I feel bad for those schools having to shut down and deal with the aftermath πŸ€•. Mamdani seems like a total pro though, he really showed NYC how it's done πŸ’―. I love that Richards gave him an A grade, but of course, not everyone is gonna be stoked about it πŸ˜’. The delays on public transportation are no joke tho πŸš‚πŸ’₯. Can't wait to get back out and explore the city again β˜•οΈ!

I gotta say, Mayor Mamdani did an amazing job handling the snowstorm! He must've been super organized and prepared for all those emergency situations. I'm really impressed that he took the time to connect with constituents and listen to their concerns - it's not always easy to do that under pressure πŸ™Œ. And I love how Donovan Richards gave him an A grade, that's major props 😊. Sure, some people might have had complaints about the response, but overall, I think Mamdani handled it like a pro πŸ’ͺ. Now, let's see how he keeps up with keeping the city running smoothly in the long run 🀞!
