I'm still getting over that Jessie Diggins' Olympic career is coming to an end
It's bittersweet seeing her finish 8th at the Olympics after all those hopes of going for gold, but I gotta give it to her - she never gave up
. And honestly, who else can say they finished 8th and still managed to secure top spot among US athletes? That's some serious grit right there!
I mean, I'm also kinda disappointed that the Swedish team just steamrolled everyone (just saying)
but at the same time, Frida Karlsson is a total legend
. I love how she stayed calm and executed those flawless ski exchanges - it was like watching art on ice
.
For Jessie Diggins, it's an amazing legacy to leave behind, especially for American cross-country skiing. She paved the way for more women to compete on equal terms with men, which is just amazing
. And let's be real, her freestyle skills are still unmatched
. It's gonna be weird not seeing her on the slopes anymore... but I guess that means we'll get to see what she does next?
