Edmund Fitzgerald Life Ring Detroit Auction Closes at $150K

OMG, u guys! I'm so down for this 🤩! The fact that the life ring and wooden plank from the SS Edmund Fitzgerald were sold at auction for $150k is just mind-blowing 💥. Like, can you even imagine what it's like to hold a piece of history in your hands? It's crazy how much attention these artifacts get, especially when they're so rare 🤯.

And I'm also loving the fact that they got such great documentation and provenance for the auction 📝. It's clear that whoever owns these relics has taken good care of them, which is awesome 💕. Plus, it's amazing to think about all the theories surrounding the ship's sinking - some questions are definitely still unanswered, but I love how people keep exploring those mysteries 🔍.

I'm also feeling super nostalgic for this 🤗. The SS Edmund Fitzgerald has such an iconic status in American maritime history, and it's cool to see that its legacy is still being celebrated today ❤️. And can we talk about the bell tolling at Mariners' Church - it's just so beautiful 🕊️. Anyway, I'm totally stoked that these artifacts are now part of a new chapter in their story 🔜

man, it's so cool how the life ring and plank from the Edmund Fitzgerald are finally getting sold off 🚣‍♂️💸 after being locked away for decades! I mean, can you even imagine what it must've been like on that fateful night? The storm was like nothing anyone had ever seen before... 😱 729 feet of steel just got tossed around like a toy. It's mind-boggling to think about how many lives were lost. I feel bad for the families, but at least now these artifacts are getting to be seen by the public and can serve as a reminder of that terrible tragedy 🕊️.

It's also interesting how much research went into preserving these pieces, it's crazy what people will do to make sure something stays in good condition 💯. The fact that they sold for like $150k is just insane, I mean, I guess when you're dealing with a piece of history, the price tag just kinda jumps out at ya 😆.

I'm not really one for auctions and all that, but this time it's definitely worth keeping an eye on 🤔. You never know what kind of stories these kinds of items can tell, and I'd love to see them end up in a museum where they can be appreciated by people who care about the history.

🚣‍♂️ I think it's really cool how these life ring and wooden plank from the SS Edmund Fitzgerald are now being auctioned off for $150k! 🤑 It's like a piece of history is up for grabs, you know? 💸 The fact that they were preserved in relatively good condition made them super valuable to collectors. But at the same time, I feel bad that these artifacts have to leave their home in Michigan to be sold. 😔 Does anyone really think about what the crew members would do if they knew some of their ship's stuff was going to be up for auction? 🤔

I feel so bad for the 29 crew members who lost their lives on that ship 🤕. It's crazy to think that some people are willing to pay $150k for a piece of it though... I mean, I get why collectors want these kinds of things, but $150k is just a lot 💸. And can you imagine how scary it must've been to be on that ship when the storm hit? Theories about what caused the disaster are still out there, and I wonder if we'll ever know for sure 🤔. What's weird is that these relics were basically on display in a museum for decades before they went up for auction... maybe someone just didn't want them anymore 😕.

can't believe these life ring and wooden plank just sold for $150k lol what's next gonna be the wheel or something? but seriously tho it's crazy how much ppl want to own a piece of that ship's history it's like they're tryna preserve the memories of those 29 crew members who lost their lives 🤯

🚢 That's wild! I mean, who wouldn't want to own a piece of history like that? The fact that it sold for $150k is insane! I'm glad the museum got it back, though - those artifacts are too important to be stuck in some private collector's hands. And can you imagine what kind of story it would tell if they ever figured out what really happened to the Edmund Fitzgerald? 🤔 The mystery surrounding that shipwreck is just so fascinating... it's like a real-life thriller! 💥
