Ella Lloyd: The Pontypridd racing driver dreaming of Formula one

Pontypridd-born racing driver Ella Lloyd is making waves in the motorsport world, with her sights firmly set on Formula One. The 20-year-old has already achieved five podium finishes and a victory in the F1 Academy Round 2 at Jeddah Corniche Circuit, putting her firmly in contention for the championship title.

Lloyd's impressive performances have drawn praise from fans and peers alike, who are taking notice of her tenacious driving style. "The males don't like to get overtaken by females - you can tell that from their driving," Lloyd observed with a smile. "They're a bit more aggressive, but I give it back to them and they stop."

Despite the challenges she faces as one of only two female drivers in the F1 Academy, Lloyd remains undaunted. She is determined to prove herself on the track, where she can hold her own against some of the toughest competition.

Lloyd's background is a far cry from that of many of her peers, who began karting at a young age and worked their way up through the junior ranks. Instead, Lloyd discovered her passion for motorsport later in life, after excelling as a showjumper and skier.

"I'm not going to get pushed about," she declared when asked about the challenges of racing against male drivers. "I think you've just got to put your stamp down and get your elbows out."

As she continues to push herself to new heights, Lloyd is also making waves in the wider motorsport community. She has been announced as an Envision Racing test driver for Formula E's Women's Test day in Valencia, where she will be at the wheel of a high-performance racing car.

Lloyd's ultimate goal is to make it into Formula One, where she would become just the second female driver to compete in a grand prix. While there are still many hurdles to overcome, her talent, determination and tenacious attitude make her a compelling candidate for success on the world stage.

πŸ€” I'm not sure if I'm buying into all this "she's gonna be the first female F1 driver" hype yet... I mean, Ella Lloyd is definitely talented and all that, but she's got some work to do before she can claim that title. And what's with all the talk about her being a trailblazer? Newsflash: there are already women in racing! I love how she's tenacious on the track though, and I'm excited to see her progress. But let's not get ahead of ourselves here... πŸ˜’

I'm loving Ella Lloyd's confidence 🀩! She's not afraid to speak her mind and show them who's boss πŸ’β€β™€οΈ. I mean, can you blame her? Being overtaken by guys is like, so annoying πŸ˜’. And I think it's awesome that she's got a different background than most of the other drivers. Karting and skiing aren't exactly the typical path to F1, but hey, being a showjumper has definitely given her some skills 🐎. She's on my radar for sure! πŸ‘€

πŸš—πŸ’¨ this female F1 driver Ella Lloyd is totally owning it out there! I mean think about it, she's beating out all these guys who've been racing since they were kids... that's just not fair πŸ˜’. And honestly, I kinda love how she's calling them out for being aggressive - like, girl power, you go! πŸ‘Š

But seriously though, this is exactly the kind of disruption we need in F1 right now. We're at a point where we're still figuring out how to balance progress and parity... so if Lloyd can bring some much-needed perspective to the table, I'm all for it 🀝. And let's be real, two female drivers in F1 would be huge - not just for women, but for diversity and inclusion overall 🌎.

And don't even get me started on how inspiring she is to young girls everywhere... like, imagine having a role model who says "don't back down" πŸ˜…. That's the kind of leadership we need more of in motorsport - and in politics 🀝.

πŸš— Ella Lloyd's stats are insane! 🀯 She's got 5 podium finishes and 1 win already, and she's only 20! 😲 That's like winning an Olympic gold medal at the age of 15... minus the Olympics, but still! πŸ… If she keeps this up, it's not hard to see her making it into F1 in no time. She's got the skills, the talent, and the drive (pun intended). πŸ’ͺ The only thing holding her back right now is the fact that there are way more male drivers than females... but she's not letting that hold her back! 🚫 Did you know that in 2022, only 12% of Formula One drivers were female? 😱 That's a huge opportunity for Ella and other female drivers to make their mark on the sport. And with Envision Racing backing her, I think she's got a real shot at making it to the top! πŸš€

I don’t usually comment but I think Ella Lloyd is totally inspiring! 🀩 She's got that fire in her belly and it's amazing to see her going for it despite all the odds against her. And let's be real, 5 podium finishes isn't something you can just put up on a wall, that takes skill πŸ’ͺ. I mean, I've seen some of these F1 drivers with their faces scrunched up in annoyance when she overtakes them and it's like, girl power! πŸš€ She's not letting anyone bring her down or tell her she can't do something because of who she is. And that quote about getting pushed around just cracks me up πŸ˜‚. I'm definitely rooting for her to make it into F1 one day.

I'm glad to see Ella Lloyd making a name for herself in motorsport πŸš—πŸ’ͺ. She's definitely got a fire in her belly and isn't afraid to speak her mind - love her confident attitude! At the same time, I do worry about the pressure she'll face as one of the only females in a highly competitive environment 😬. It's not just about racing skills, it's also about how much mental toughness you need to cope with the stress and scrutiny that comes with being in the spotlight 🀯. Still, Ella's got talent pouring out of every pore, and I'm excited to see where she takes her career πŸ’₯
