Elon Musk’s Twitter promised a purge of blue check marks. Instead he singled out one account | CNN Business

I'm not sure I agree with Elon Musk's new approach to verifying accounts on Twitter 🤔. To me, it feels like a big mess 📝. First, he starts saying he's going to get rid of the legacy blue checks, but then he targets one specific account from The New York Times 📰. That just raises more questions about what makes someone important versus someone who has paid for it 💸.

And let's be real, paying $8 a month sounds like a lot for some people 🤑. I'm all for transparency, but this new system just seems to create confusion and whiplash for users, especially the big names on the platform 😩. It's also got me worried about impersonation and bots getting out of control 🤖.

Musk claims it's all about treating everyone equally, but that doesn't feel like a solution to me 🤔. Maybe he should focus on fixing the underlying problems with the site instead of just trying to shake things up 💥.

man... thinkin bout dis new tweet verification thingy on twitter 🤔... it's like musk is tryin to take control of who gets recognized as a legit person online... but at what cost, right? it's all about transparency now, but how do we know who's really behind the tweets? 🤷‍♂️

i mean, paying $8 a month to keep that blue check mark just feels like a way for musk to make more money off users... and what about all the old accounts that got those badges in the first place? are they gonna be left behind? 🙄

it's also got me thinkin' about our online identity, you know? it's not just about having a name or a face, but about being seen as trustworthy and authentic. musk's plan might seem like it's tryin to level the playing field, but what if it just creates more confusion and problems down the line? 🤦‍♂️

anyway, i guess only time will tell how this whole thing plays out... in the meantime, i'll just be over here wonderin about the meaning of online verification 😐

idk man... 🤔 i'm all for making twitter more transparent about who's legit and who's not but paying $8/month just to get a blue check mark? that's some extra money, you feel? 🤑 it's like they're treating verified accounts like a premium service or something. and now the NYT is gone without a second thought? what even is the criteria for getting one of those badges again? 💡 is it based on followers? engagement? idk... all this seems pretty haphazard to me. and can we talk about the dogecoin logo thing? 🐶👀 was that just a wild experiment or something?

man, this elon musk thing is getting wild 🤯 like what's good with these blue checks tho? they're supposed to mean something but now it just feels like a paid subscription service for some ppl 🤑 and idk about this whole verification thing... how r we supposed to know who's legit and who's just paying for the badge 🤔 plus, dogecoin surging 20% over a logo change? 🐶💸 that's just weird 😂

I'm getting so confused with all these changes on Twitter 😩. I just want my kids to feel safe online without worrying about bots or fake accounts. Why did Elon Musk have to go and change the verification system again? 🤷‍♀️ It's like he's playing some kind of game that we're all along for the ride, not sure what's real or what's not anymore 💔. And don't even get me started on those dogecoin memes - what does that even mean?! 🐶🤑 Can someone just explain to me how this is supposed to make Twitter a better platform? 🤔
