I'm super concerned about this news 
. I mean, who wants to live in a dodgy flat with no insulation or lead paint? Not me! But seriously, the lack of enforcement is like, really worrying. Our government needs to get its act together and sort out some funding for local authorities so they can do their job properly 
. We shouldn't be waiting around for ages for people's homes to be made safe. That's just not right 
. And what about all the environmental health practitioners who are going to struggle to cope with these new regulations? It's like, how are they supposed to deal with it all without any training or support?

if local authorities dont have the resources and training to deal with decent homes standards how are they supposed to protect tenants from substandard living conditions? its not just about having powers and duties, its about actually being able to enforce them 
what's going on here is that the government is passing the buck and leaving thousands of people at risk
