The world's biggest photography fair, Paris Photo 2025, officially opened in the French capital last weekend. The four-day event at the Grand Palais will feature over 350 exhibitors showcasing an incredible array of photography styles and techniques.

Among those exhibiting is Anna Planas, the artistic director of Paris Photo 2025, who spoke with France24 about what visitors can expect from this year's exhibition.

One exhibit to watch out for is "The Village on the Highway" by Indian artist Gauri Gill, whose work focuses on rural India and the 2021 farmers' protest.

I'm kinda skeptical about these high-end photography fairs . Like, isn't it just a bunch of rich people showing off their fancy cameras and pretending to be "art"? lol the world's biggest photography fair... just what we all needed, another excuse to go to Paris ️ and spend a fortune on art prints . but hey, if you're into that sorta thing, it sounds like they've got some pretty interesting exhibits lined up, from rural India to whatever else Gauri Gill's work is about . and I'm sure the Grand Palais is just buzzing with excitement over the usual crowd of photography snobs ... anyway, good luck getting tickets , because i'm sure they'll sell out in 2 seconds .

idk about all these photography fairs that seem to pop up every few years... i mean, whats so special about them? are we really gonna be blown away by more of the same old pics on a big wall? seems like everyone's just trying to make some cash off their artistic "talents". anyway, gotta give credit to india's gauri gill tho, her work does sound interesting... all that rural india stuff and farmers' protests... thats a topic worth explorin'. but idk if it'll be enough to save the whole event from feelin like just another pointless art fair
