Erdogan’s political fate may be determined by Turkey’s Kurds | CNN

Turkey's pro-Kurdish party emerges as a key player in the country's upcoming election, potentially tipping the balance against Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has decided not to field its own presidential candidate, allowing its supporters to vote for Erdogan's main rival, Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

The HDP's move is seen as a strategic ploy to maximize its influence in the election and potentially unseat Erdogan, who has been in power since 2002. The party's decision not to field a candidate may allow its supporters to rally behind Kilicdaroglu, whose support is crucial for defeating Erdogan.

Analysts say that the HDP's decision is a reflection of the complex relationship between Erdogan and the Kurdish community in Turkey. The Turkish president has faced criticism from the Kurdish community over his government's handling of the conflict in Syria and its impact on the region.

The HDP's former leader, Selahattin Demirtas, has been in prison for nearly seven years on charges related to terrorism. His imprisonment has sparked widespread protests in Turkey, highlighting the deep-seated tensions between Erdogan's government and the Kurdish community.

As the election approaches, many are watching with bated breath to see how the HDP's decision will play out. The party's influence could tip the balance against Erdogan, potentially marking a significant shift in Turkish politics.

this is super interesting 🤔... i mean, you would think that the pro-Kurdish party would try to run their own candidate just to guarantee something for themselves, but nope, they're choosing to support kilicdaroglu instead 🤑 it's like they're trying to take a calculated risk and see how it pays off. Erdogan has been in power for ages and everyone knows he's got the military's back 💪... still, the hdp's move is definitely going to make things interesting 🎉. wonder if kilicdaroglu can pull off the upset against erdogan 🤞

I'm low-key worried about what's going down in Turkey right now 🤔. With the HDP not fielding its own presidential candidate, it seems like they're playing with fire 🔥. If their supporters end up voting for Kilicdaroglu instead, it could be a game-changer in the election. Erdogan's been in power for ages and the Turkish president has been getting slammed from all sides 🚨.

The whole situation is super complicated with the Kurdish community and Syria conflict at play. I mean, we can't just ignore the fact that Selahattin Demirtas has been locked up for years on charges related to terrorism 🤕. It's not like it's gonna magically get resolved overnight.

I'm curious to see how this all unfolds in the coming weeks. The HDP's move could potentially shift the balance against Erdogan and mark a major shift in Turkish politics 💥. Either way, it's gonna be interesting to watch 👀.

Wow 🤯 this is like super interesting 🤔 Erdogan has been in power for so long and now it looks like he might finally lose 😱 the Kurdish community is a big part of Turkey and if they can get behind Kilicdaroglu then that could be game over for Erdogan 👊

🤔 I'm not sure if this is gonna make a difference but like, what's up with Turkey's parties and their candidates? Can't they just pick one person to represent them already? 🙄 The HDP's decision not to field its own candidate is kinda weird, but at the same time, it makes sense. They wanna maximize their influence and maybe even take down Erdogan, who's been in power for ages.

I mean, I get that the Kurdish community has had a tough time with Erdogan's gov't, especially with Selahattin Demirtas being imprisoned for years... that's just messed up 🤕. But now they're all about supporting Kilicdaroglu, which is cool, I guess. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out in the election and if it actually changes anything. Fingers crossed for Turkey, lol 😅

omg u guys r going 2 witness somethin HUGE in turkey!! the ppl democractic party (hdp) just decided not 2 run their own pres candidate but instead lettin thier supporters vote 4 kemal kilicdaroglu who's actually a pretty decent candidate 🤔. i think its a clever move by the hdp 2 maximize thier influence in the election & maybe even take down erdogan who's been in power 4eva lol this whole thing is sooo complicated tho - Erdogan's handling of the syrian conflict has been super problematic 4 the Kurdish community, and now it seems like the hdp's trying 2 capitalize on that by supporting kilicdaroglu 🤞 fingers crossed we get a more democratic gov in turkey!!!

omg what's going on in turkey rn 🤯 i feel like this is gonna be a wild ride ... so the ppl's democratic party just decided not to field their own presidential candidate and now it's all about Kemal Kilicdaroglu 😬 i get why they're doing it, but at the same time, are they just gonna let Erdogan slide? 🤔 he's been in power for ages and everyone knows he's got some major issues with the Kurdish community ... poor selahattin demirtas, still stuck in prison after 7 long years 🚫 his imprisonment has sparked so much unrest in turkey and it's all coming down to this election now 🕰️ i'm kinda rooting for Kilicdaroglu to come out on top, but you never know what's gonna happen in politics 🤷‍♂️

🤞 this is like super good news for Turkey 🇹🇷, people finally get to choose between Erdogan and Kilicdaroglu, it's gonna be so interesting to see how this plays out, I mean think about it, the HDP not having its own candidate is like a wild card, could be a game changer 🃏. And let's be real, Erdogan has been in power for ages, maybe it's time for a change? 🔄 I'm low-key excited to see what happens next, fingers crossed for Turkey! 💕

omg, this is so interesting 🤯! i think the hdp's move is a total game changer 💥. if they can get their supporters to vote for kilicdaroglu, that's gotta be a major blow to erdogan's camp 😬. and let's be real, erdogan has been in power for like, forever 🕰️. it's time for some change, right? 🤞 the hdp's decision shows just how much of an impact they can have on the election results 📊. fingers crossed that kilicdaroglu can pull off a win and bring some real progress to turkey 🌟!
